26 years ago today, I lost my BEST friend at the Westray Mine, Glenn David Martin. It hurts as much today as it did then, you never get over losing someone like Glenn, the kindest, gentlest soul I ever known.
I absolutely love this song and this singer! My late grandfather was a miner. He was a powerful, gentle man and his life was blighted by heart disease as a result of working underground since he was only 12...He would have loved this song Xxxx
I hear this song on cbc radio for the first time performed live by Matt Anderson. Wow. I was taken away by the moving lyrics, amazing voice, and beautifully played on guitar. I was frozen until the end of the song. Wow! He should definatley win that Juno song writers award. You can really feel the emotions of a coal miners life. I never knew. His heart is definately in his voice.
I was there for your show in Chicago at Schubas, and let me tell you, if you play there again I'm going to bring every friend I have. It was a great show and you're long overdue for another.
I saw Matt at the Vinyl Cafe..........The first thought that entered my mind was......."Did he McDonald's out of Big Mac's? ??????....... Then he opened his mouth and my jaw dropped!!!!! His voice resonated and filled the auditorium with awe!!!! Now I'm stuffing myself with Big Mac's ::))))
Hey hope this finds you well. I was watching a movie called pig and the song I’m on fire caught my ear. So I looked it up and ran across your cover of it. It was really nice. You were doing it in D and that was the key in my vocal range. Really liked your voice and style you did it . Keep the music flowing. Wayne
why does that even matter to you ? This music, any music actually, is apparentley wasted on your callous soul. Your really sad, ill just leave it at that, could say plenty more but there is quite obviously no point.
