The beauty that is you is all that I could hope to share my universe with. I say a prayer of gratitude that we happened to share this lifetime and I am honored to stumble into yours. SO MUCH LOVE AND ABOUNDING BLESSINGS TO YOU... PEACE LOVE AND HARMONY HUSH
This cover should be more well-known. I found it years ago and every time I listen to it I'm amazed. Most of the people I've sent it to didn't know the guy.. shame 😔
A gorgeous rendition of what is truly a classic piece of Americana/Folk/Roots music. I am CERTAIN that Mr. Kristofferson would approve of this interpretation! Many Thanks for this post. So Very Well Done Matt!
I listen to music as I drift off to sleep at night. I’d wanted to hear Matt do Coal Miners Blues. And this played after that. Holy cow. Literal chills all over my body. This is one of the best things I’ve ever heard.
Guitar reminds me a lot of jimmy pages acoustic playing and matt reminds me a lot of joe cocker which is funny because jimmy page played on joe cockers version of “With a Little from My friends”
@@spudjones8913 Yeah, Pink's version is definitely Janis's cover and it is top notch. Pink did some really scary good versions of JJ's tunes. I very much liked all of it.
Miss bobby.i screaming my head all night. And he would show up in the morning with bottle zambucca and c card that said one day attached time. Then he wrote 14 Volt poison. Grinning. I be like WTF. Miss you bobby.
This is the best cover of this Kristofferson classic. Everyone else does it way too fast and the girls try to scream it like Janis. It helps that Matt's voice sounds like hot buttered rolls. He might actually have actually sang this song too pretty. That could have the same effect that the tempo and the Janis style of singing have on it. Which is these things have always masked the tragedy and the beauty that is the story of Bobby McGee. If you ever wanted to know how most people get love wrong and what it really is, these lyrics offer a good example. Real love is unconditional and that means it doesn't matter what they have done, no matter what they do, even if they treat you like absolute shit you can not help but love them. It also means that their happiness, well being and needs are more important to you than your own which sometimes force you to do things that are detrimental, destructive, excruciatingly painful, or that comes at a great personal cost to one's self because love is not selfish. He let's Bobby go not because he wants to but because he wants her to be happy, at peace, and to find her "home" but he gladly trade the rest of his life for one more of those days when being together was all either of them needed because that was everything to him. She was his "home." Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose and nothing is all that Bobbi left me. He lost it all when he lost her... damn what a song.
@@FacetiousJosh he should. But #IMMA like em all anyways! That’s for Matt! And of anyone has something bad to say about any of his songs they should listen one more time... they missed the magic of his voice! #DEEPER THAN THE EARS
