Hey everyone! Here's my 2nd single from "Tales of Queer Suburbia". It's a sequel to 'Radio-Friendly Pop Song', set a decade later. That song was about my experiences as a young artist trying to navigate a very homophobic music industry. Thankfully we've come a long way since then, mostly for the better. Yet with all the positives of increased visibility and growing mainstream success for queer artists and stories, so comes the inevitable rise in "queerbaiting culture" - a debate that's fascinated, amused and frustrated me in equal measure over the last few years. So I thought I'd write a fun song about it! 😄 I've been dancing around my studio with a big grin on my face to this song for months now, and I'm so excited to finally share it with you all! Awesome tune, worthy successor and the graphics in the Lyrics vid are great. Getting all that paint and powder to fall in exactly the right way every time? Genius! (I just hope that you have a good cleaner or you'll be on your knees scrubbing for weeks! 😁) One note for people thinking of using this song to push back on someone you might think is queerbaiting. Sometimes people are genuinely working it out and that can take longer for some than others. (For example, see the awful time Kit Connor had). Matt's given you a powerful tool 😳. This song talks about queerbaiting in a much nicer way than I ever have. I love it. The lyrics are direct but cheeky. There's a sense of playful anger that really makes it work.

song is an absolute banger and the line 'if it's not your truth then it's not your story to steal' goes fucking hard. As someone who still gets a lot of shit for being non-binary this song really expresses a familiar frustration I have with rainbow capitalism.

This song is fantastic! Could use an epilepsy warning. I love what seems to be a little Portal reference with the orange and blue rings. It's both fascinating and cathartic to hear the evolution of your experiences as a musician over time. Losing it over "He's never dated a guy, BUT HE MIGHT. (11 songs about girls)"
