Problem is ,this kid isn't even a goon ,he's gonna get his next time these guy's face off ,Mac is going to give Rempe his ,the kid had plenty of opportunity to pull off from the hit ,this kid's day is coming.
He did have the opportunity to pull away, but knew he would miss Siegenthaler and then stuck out his elbow. Dirty play and he better just first shift drop the mitts with Macdermid and get it out of the way or that next game will get ugly fast
The NHL wants to prevent dirty hits andnhead contact and all this... yet the refs don't allow MacDermid to get at Rempe which means another NJ player is hurt because of this kid and tempers are flaring. All the "protect the players" BS goes out the window because NOW the next game everyone on both teams will be out for blood and the chances of players getting hurt badly goes way up. All because they didnt allow the players to police themselves by letting the scrap happen. If the refs backed off, Rempe would have had no chance to run from MacDermid and would have had to drop the gloves. Suspension or not, this is only going to escalate.
I agree Walt, this next game is going to be a blood bath, and I hope other players aren't going to be targets. Its going to be bad, hopefully this kid learns and just goes out there first shift and they throw down & get it out of the way
@@THEHOCKEYSKATEDOWN That's the way it SHOULD happen. It's the way MacDermid tried to make this game start as a way to deal with Bastian getting hurt by Rempe, but once Rempe ducked him and wouldn't square up, that's when it was clear that things would escalate. So will Rempe answer the bell the first time he and K-Mac hit the ice? I would like to hope so, but I wouldn't be shocked if he avoids fighting again. The only thing that makes me lean towards thinking he will actually fight is because now all the talk is about him being a pussy and running away, so now he has to try to fix that image people have of him.
Hurting the Rangers? Sure😂! Frist 10 games has a goal and an assist and is causing havoc, making defense hesitate. The puck has been in the offensive zone most of his time on ice and has been on ice for four goals and one against. Yeah sure, hurting!
hes 6'8'' & 1/2''. On skates it makes a difference. I love a clean game with clean hits, thats how its supposed to be. But man I am loving this Rempe guy. He's here to stay and I'm here for it. Rempe single handedly tearing down the devils. He broke 3 faces in 2 games lol. I love that we gave no attention to Mac. Ignored him all game and then smash one of his boys because of his pesting. Tbh Mac just got to NJ. He has no beef with Rempe or have a relationship with any of the players to sacrifice himself. I get that's his job, but that job gets done right when you bond with the players
That being tall thing is an excuse. Theres been tall players like him in the NHL that don't intentionally injure players by targeting the head. Suspension was well deserved, head shot was clear in this hit
@@THEHOCKEYSKATEDOWN I'm just a biased Ranger fan. So I'm a big fan of Rempe already, cause he's making a huge splash here. All of the sudden everyone is a hockey fan now lol. Before i had no one to talk to about hockey. Now i have friends asking if i'm the one that seen the rempe fight. So of course ima defend him and be a fan. He's great for the sport, well In a way, when he's on your team that is lol. And wreaks havoc for the opposing teams.
Big deal. Our boys did NOTHING the remainder of the game. Both Bastian and Siegs are injured because of this clown. And we won’t even throw bodies on the Rags? I lost respect for the Devils.
@@ritterengine1289 Perhaps you didn't check the injury report and/or watch that game. Nate had come back after the Rempe hit to the head, got trucked by Trouba and then later in the game tweaked his leg and limped off. He's currently out with a LBI... last time I checked your face isn't lower body.
REMPE is a dirtbag. The league really screwed by chosing not to discipline Rempe for the Bastian penalty. Since then , numerous questionable , dirty, & intentional hits have occurred. I blame the league for not dropping the hammer earlier. Make no mistake. That hit on Siegenthaler was intentional. Jonas being the lone Devil who stood up to Rempe after the Bastian dirty hit. Rempe refused to fight early. Then Rempe waited for Siegenthaler to be prone & took a run at him with intent to injure. Then Rempe, classlessly mocks the injured player and opposing team. For reference, Scott Stevens in a 22 year Hall of Fame career had 4 total Elbowing penalties. Rempe in 10 days, has 2 Elbowing major penalties. 💯 % dirtbag.
There’s was nothing “vicious” about that hit AT ALL…if you watch all angles, only ONE looks even remotely “bad” as he does “flare his elbow” maybe 2 inches at the last moment, but that’s because he’s trying to hit someone who had slowed/changed his own motion, and was already committed to throwing a check…this wasn’t some cross ice / head-on flagrant elbow. *This used to be something that wouldnt have even warranted 2min, yet alone an ejection and a suspension would be INSANE. Even now, I think suspension is CRAZY, and the ejection was pretty extreme…a 5min Major wouldn’t have been out of line because while it doesn’t appear to be much intent, and there was hardly even contact, players are supposed to be in complete control of their bodies - but this is paramount to a totally accidental high stick where the other guy was barley knicked, no intent, and wasn’t really even that out of control…gotta give the major for blood, but you don’t toss him - and you definitely don’t suspend him. Suspensions should be reserved for situations invlolving INTENT to injure another player. **BTW He’s 6’7 and had he been 6’1 that elbow would have contacted the other guys chest/shoulder…is he supposed to throw all his checks with his arms tucked like a straight jacket??
Hes supposed to keep his arm down when approaching a hit. I get the height thing, but hes charging players and leaping before hits. Hes injured multiple people already and the players & league are noticing him. He should take note of this and try to avoid it next time.
its his 2nd time making such a hit, just against the devils. if rempe does not answer the bell in his first shift vs the devils and fight macdermid, then the devils need to treat the entire rangers team with the same level of respect that they have received from rempe and well see who is waiving at who when their star players are out with injury for the playoffs and that is the only way the devils should respond in the next game if rempe does not honor "the code" i hate this in todays game but at the same time you cant let that go unchallenged and that is the bottom line. and yes the devils are a softer team, but even a smaller player can really injure a bigger player with a dirty play. weve seen it with the rat up in boston many times remember the flying elbow to marcus johansen? he was out for a while on that one and it wasnt even like he took a massive run at marcus either. and this is what needs to happen if the devils continue to lose games and IF and i stress the IF part on this, but IF rempe does not answer the bell immediately in the next devils rangers game. and if the rangers sit rempe out that game i think it needs to be treated as if rempe chose to not answer the bell as well. this can NOT be left unchallanged end of story. especially with the league handing out slaps on the wrist such as this, i mean come on a 4 game suspension for his 3rd offense? lol give me a break do you think rempe cares that he gets 4 extra days off? would you care at your job if that was the only consequence? i mean he still gets paid regardless. just my opinion i know i cant be alone with this mentality.
He doesn't care, but he better learn to or else theyll keep suspending him now. He better just drop them first shift next game to just get it out of the way or that game will get ugly real quick
I agree with the suspension. Laviolette will address this and you will see a different player. Lets not forget the front end of Tom Wilson and Scott Stevens careers. I wouldn't let him play again until the playoffs.
The thing is Rempe is a player that if he can control his actions and play to his advantage can be a player who can sway a game. Whether its physical or going to the front of the net, he causes havoc, he just has to stop with the charging and injuring players
@@THEHOCKEYSKATEDOWN I realize that hence my comment. I have watched every game he has played so far. Call me crazy I would have like to see him get some minutes on the first line with Kreider and Zibanejad. LGR. Big win in Carolina last night!
@ritterengine1289 We all realize some sandpaper needs to be added to the current lineup. Some decisions are gonna be made, and there may be a few players on their way out. Hopefully, Fitz got the memo.
I'm happy that he got a 4 game suspension! I would've been happier if he would've gotten a 10 game suspension! I wish the Devils would've scored at least 1 goal on that 5 minute power play. But unfortunately, they didn't.
As a die hard devils fan, I’m pissed about Rempe. He’s a 6’7 Sean Avery wanna be, but as a person who loves the sport of hockey, there’s no reason for this type of behavior. I’m all for open ice hits and things to spark your team. Hopefully this suspension will be a wake up call for him.
I agree, hopefully he wakes up from this. Hes got tremendous size and if he can use it to his advantage he can be useful to the Rangers, but hes a goon and intentionally injuring players whenever he can
@@THEHOCKEYSKATEDOWN most definitely! He can use his size to his advantage but he’s using it in ways that’s careless and dangerous. Intentionally injuring players shouldn’t be allowed in this sport. If this was the 80s 90s and early 00’s every enforcer would be hunting Rempe down either tryna scare him outta the league or to make sure he doesn’t ever play again.
I agree, deserved more but four is good. It was weak, like the NHLPS said “Recognizing he might miss his hit entirely, Rempe raises his elbow up and into the head of Siegenthaler” In other words, Rempe’ FAILS to hit Siegenthaler so he desperately cheap shots Siegenthaler’s head.
I just think the Devils dont have any bite. I’d love to see some agitators on the roster. They gotta have some passion. They looked so passive. Once Mac couldn’t fight him the first thing that popped in my head was someone taking a run into Quick. That’s what scumbag Avery used to say, right? Between Trouba and Rempe it seems theyre always going for injuries. I say hack the bone. Rempe waving goodbye should be a done deal for a fight next game.
