Can't believe all the negative sarcastic comments about already hating this hire. Nobody they hired would've gotten the fan base together-- and that'll only get done when they win more. As far as the Mickey lovers go, everyone who lined up behind him are realizing that Joseph may not get to go anywhere now. We won't know the real story until it's untangled, but this is a sudden blow from left field that even Mickey knows..... he's done at NU now. If some of you here still intend to hang onto that hatred by September16, I'll take all your tickets off your hands. You won't have to worry about showing up at the stadium anymore. Stay home and knit. This is a good show all the time, the guys give their analysis, and they offer up all the insights about the Huskers we wouldn't get on TV or Sports Radio. Auburn fans have less patience than Nebraska fans. They think that they are Alabama, when everyone knows they're not. Nebraska fans, for the most part, have accepted reality that we're not the toast of the town right now, but we always love our program and we support it no matter what.

I've never read so many uninformed comments in my life. Somehow Mickey Joseph has attained godlike status...by going 3-6. Yes, there is a chance that he would be a good head coach, but Matt Rhule is the closest we can get to a sure thing. Mickey isn't at that point yet. Rhule has TWICE taken trainwreck programs to 10+ wins in just a few years. He is definitely the right hire. Rhule started with 45 scholarship players at Baylor when he arrived. In less than 3 years they were ranked #8 and playing for a Big 12 Championship. Lost to Oklahoma in Overtime. He did that with recruiting classes that were ranked 35th to 45th when he arrived. This guy is going to be good. Very good..

I am very mixed. I don't like that we didn't have MJ as a head coach. I think this Matt Ruhl hire is another mistake. I really think Alberts made the same mistake other AD's made. This is a huge mistake, and I am afraid that we will be hiring a new AD along with another coach in a few years. I am hopeful that this hire is successful, however. GBR

Congratulations to you sport's writers, you big dollar boosters and to Trev....you hired a false positive. You had the best of the best that was handed a team of misfits and turned them around. Next man up....work ethic....discipline...honor...integrity...team....this culminated in the game at Iowa. Coach Mick proved his caliber in the field of battle. I played then coached football. It us with that I can honestly say that Coach Mick brought quality to Husker Football. His culture was respected. Coach Mick is the Rocky of college football. He instilled physicality to those players that he inherited. Coach Mick would of brought the Husker Swagger if he was given a chance as a full time head coach with his selected staff and hires not to mention his recruiting. However you writers, your broadcasters, you alleged experts did nor even give him a chance. Coach Mick developed in his short time, better players, instilled discipline and demanded an emphasis on education. He was a younger Tom Osborne who on the beginning you sports writers wanted let go....but in the end what did Coach Tom developed....a winning respected culture. Nebraska just let the next Tom Osborne get away.

I thought retaining MJ ( as a coordinator) was a pretty solid thing but when I saw mj’s son on his lap during the post game press conf… I figured he’d be gone. I still want him on the staff but that would and could cause problems.

Hopefully Mickey will still be around to pick up the pieces again of course unless they fire him too. Guessing this new coach will get $7-8 million a year with a $18-25 million buyout.

Id have given MJ another year or two with incentives. All the rest of the Frost regime gone. Not taking chances on huge salaries and buyouts that may or may not work. If he dont work out your no worse off than things are now. The defense was starting to turn around. With the portal and recruiting could turn the offense around minus Whipple. This move is a id say 56-64 mil gamble at least. I have nothing against Rhule at all.
