Omnium Gatherum is one of the best finnish melodic death metal bands 🤘It was founded in 1996 in Kotka, Finland. The band combines melodic death metal with progressive rock and traditional heavy metal. 🤘Frontiers is their best song in my opinion.

Great and thanks for the reaction Matt! Omnium Gatherum (OG) is one the greatest Finnish MeloDeath bands (in addition to Insomnium, Wintersun, Mors Subita, Blood Red Hour Glass, and Amorphis). In this specific OG song, I really love the mixture of the beauty (i.e., video and instumentation) and the beast (i.e., vocals). So, personally for me the harsh vocals, video and instrumentation make the perfect fit... and needles to say that Markus Vanhala is a pure genius with quitar (as @nuclear.musicaddict already mentioned 🤘)

Thank you Matt 🙏 ...but let me say that its all you who makes the hard work and creates the good content 😉 ...and sorry that I missed that you asked (in the video) more recommendations for OG songs. My personal favorite is their song "Rest in Your Heart". Also songs like "New World Shadows", "Skyline", and "Frontiers" are pretty nice to check. You also asked are they doing any clean vocals... and the answer is: VERY seldomly 😄

I just realised how much of an amazing musician Markus Vanhala is, I have only heard one other song from OG but I need to listen to more, this kind of metal is absolutely the kind of thing I love. I was hit by a thought, all of my favourite Insomnium albums came after Markus joined. What a great dude. I know I'm late for that one, I went to see LOTL in Berlin and I spent way too much time on the underground and in other trains where there was zero reception.

I definitely need to hear more from OG. How was LOTL? I can’t wait to see them, but I have to wait until September. I am excited, tonight I am going to the first night of the Kamelot tour with Ad Infinitum and Seven Spires. I am bringing my best friend who isn’t into metal at all. He typically gets scared off my harsh vocals. I am curious to see his reaction. It might be the last time he blindly goes to a concert with me : )

Yeah, for me the music is too uplifting for the vocals. It's also not the type of melodeath I go for. I'd recommend Rest In Your Heart as a song where his vocals are better utilized. Or Skyline. My favorite two songs of theirs and very similar to each other.
