In the previous passage Jesus warned us that signing up for the Christian life of following Him in bringing the Gospel into the world would require self-denial and self-sacrifice because of the world, promising to return in His glory and with His rewards. In this passage, rather than tell His disciples, Jesus now shows His disciples, allowing them to see and experience just a taste of His glory that awaits those who are today, following Him towards that day.
