When everything has been tried, and all hope has been exhausted, with nowhere left to turn, is how the man in our passage goes to God. With his desperate and tiny mustard seed sized faith and with his unbelief He cries out for God's compassion, and God heals his son. The disciples however, were unable to perform this miracle as before because of their unbelief in God, expressed through their neither asking or seeking God.
