I’ve heard McConaughey say in recent interviews things like he’s “spiritual” or believes in God. John 14:6 [6] Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” I believe Matthew is a believer in a “higher power” but not necessarily he God of the Bible. I don’t know that he is truly a Christian. You must be born again and have a relationship with Jesus to be saved. Ephesians 1:13 [13] “In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,” We must turn to Christ, and repent of our sin. Realizing that we are not good people, but actually wretched sinners before a perfect God. We must believe and trust in Jesus, believing he died and rose again in order to be saved. Matthew 7:21 [21] “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Jesus tells us on the last day some whom confess him with not truly know him. That’s a sobering thought. Continue to pray for both men and their families.

Extremely powerful! Somewhere down the line I began to read the Bible as though no one had ever told me its meaning. I invited the spirit of God into me to guide and direct me as I read the words. And the strangest thing happened I no longer saw the Bible Through The Eyes of anyone else. Not that I'm in disagreeance with everyone yet not in total agreeance with any Doctrine except for the one I have come to believe in through the spirit Within Me. I could go on and on and on about my interpretation of this and that verse or other people's interpretation. However at the end of the day what matters is do I have love? One time I told my dear friend all these things that the Bible had to say she said back to me well Cody isn't God love. And that was another big game changer for me because now not only do I see the holy scriptures through my spirit eyes I now see myself as I study the scriptures rather than everybody else. For instance if there is a group of people that I did not agree with and I set out through scripture to prove to myself that I'm correct or to prove them wrong. Instead I find where I need to change every time. It's not where everybody else needs to change that matters it's where I need to change that matters. And as long as I can remember that I can adequately love on others. The greatest act of Love ever was when Jesus Christ allowed himself to be crucified for all of mankind. Not for the people that he agreed with not for the people that was the same color as him not just for a certain set of people that walked a finer line than the other set of people. Yet he laid his life down for everybody where the word everybody includes everybody LOL my friend said well what if your interpretation of the scripture is wrong and I said well out of all the interpretations that there is which one is correct and if I have to be that accurate then Jesus crucified was in vain. And everything that Matthew McConaughey just said would be invalid. Another thing the reason I'm in need of a savior is my ways are not right his ways are. So I'll set off on this journey to live my life in a fashion that I understand Christ would had me to do so yet I am not counting on it for my Redemption. Yet when our Lord and savior agreed with our father in Heaven that he would allow them to crucify him on a cross. Job accomplished. I do not know longer need to figure out how to get into the presence of the almighty God or gain eternal life because Christ crucified already did that for me. I'm so sad that people use the message (small m) and call it the Holy Bible. It's NOT God's Word!! It's man's rewritten watered down version of the Word of God. The key words, "MAN's version." If you want a real eye opening experience....start comparing the scriptures... NASB, NKJV, KJV, ESV.... and then compare the scriptures side by side with the message. You will be shocked. Well, if you truly love God's Word, you SHOULD be shocked. There is a huge difference between a translation and a rewritten version of the Holy Scriptures. Translations are done with biblical scholars who work together in finding the right words to match the Greek, Aramaic, Hebrew texts. Then there is completely rewriting it to soften the Word, distort God's correction, or completely change the context of His Word as what was done in the message and the NLT. Why not study from the Jeh Witness or Mormon's version as they did the same thing. I pray for God's Wisdom in the Body of Christ. 2 Timothy 4:3 "For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires." The scripture comes to my mind when I think of the message and pastors teaching from it.

I would love to point out that this is less of a translation than it is a paraphrase - it even adds words and entire phrases that are not found or even existed during the time of the original authors writings. I would read this as a contemporary English commentary on the Bible and have a more reliable translation as my main source. If you are looking for a true-to-original meaning English translation, I highly recommend the English Standard Version. Grace and Peace, brothers and sisters in Christ.

I grew up without a Father. Please let people discover in their own time, sometimes we hit people over the head with right and better and bla bla bla we are doing the opposite of what God shows us to do. He meets us where we are.
