This video is from batman-news.com. Matthew Modine, the actor who has worked with Stanley Kubrick, said Chistopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises will beat The Avengers' boxoffice.
But there's something about having six heroes in one film that gives it a little more flair. I'm sure story-wise Batman will be a bit better, but The Avengers was all about interaction between these big egos and functioning as a team properly. There's a good theme of family dynamics and finding their place within the team in the film. Excitement and money wise The Avengers over-shadows The Dark Knight Rises in my opinion, but critically and story wise, probably Batman.
The Avengers was awesome, and The Dark Knight Rises will be awesome. They're just different kinds of awesome: Avengers - Fun, bright, funny action flick. Dark Knight Rises - Dark, gritty, complex thriller. As long as they both live up to expectation, who cares?
This from a Z list actor who hasn't done anything of anything a significance since Full Metal Jacket. If anything the popularity of the Avengers will only help DKR do much better. Lame comment.
