Matthew's Gospel: An Introduction  

Today we're kicking off a new series on the birth of Jesus, exploring Matthew 1 and 2 in-depth to give you deeper cultural understanding and historical insight. As we start this series off, I want to give you a broad picture of the Gospel of Matthew so that as we dive into the nitty gritty, get into the nuts and bolts of exactly what we see on the page, we have a big picture understanding of who Matthew is, who wrote the Gospel of Matthew, when it was written, who it was written to, and really, what Matthew is aiming to accomplish as a theological writer. And then my hope would be that as we examine the text over the next few videos, we are taken even deeper into our relationship with God!
