JT - This content is truly incredible. The fact that us football buffs can watch a deep X’s and O’s breakdown from a former NFL QB for FREE is amazing. Keep doing what you’re doing!
Is Matt Stafford the best in the NFL at having the biggest arm all while throwing the most catchable ball? I'm consistently impressed at how easy he makes it look to catch the ball from him despite how easily he just whips it through zones nobody else can.
Wonderful video and analysis JT. Lifelong Lions fan here, and will admit that Stafford is still my all time favourite Lion. Miss the guy a lot. Don’t get me wrong, Goff is doing an amazing job for us right now, and that trade is a big reason why the Lions are where they are right now, but I still would have liked to see Matthew on this team and working with Ben Johnson, St. Brown, and our outstanding O Line. Glad he got his Super Bowl, now it is our turn.
The Vikings were getting carved up so they double teamed Kupp and Puca, only for Stafford to throw Robinson two TD's. They HAD to give up on the blitz because McVay and his DC design everything to give Stafford all the time he needs. The RB's always block any free runners streaking gaps. The Vikings didn't get to Stafford ONCE all night. On paper, the Vikings are suppose to be a pretty good defense but not good enough to beat a savvy vet like Stafford, he's a master at butchering a defense, carving them up all night long.
Has Sam Darnold hit his ceiling? Seems like he is processing the field slow and taking way too much time to get the ball out. Or, are the play designs taking too long?
What I liked about the underhand flick is the the thumb was behind the ball. He turned his hand 180 degrees to do that. Ordinarily you would lower your arm, and the thumb would be at the front of the ball. This was kind of a modified sidearm throw as opposed to being a shovel pass.
Stafford does a good job of looking off to open that throwing window!!! Manipulating coverage and the wr sell it good as well on double moves and getting their heads around!
Great video. But does the QB School hate Jared Goff? He has been discussed as an MVP candidate and completed 90%+ over a two-game stretch, the best ever. Keep checking for a Goff video.
@@kurtwicklund8901Huh? I wouldn't say that at all. Spencer Rattler's first action? On Patreon. Drake Maye's first game? On Patreon. And how is Stafford an "uncertain quantity"?? If anything, I'd say the more "certain quantities" go on RU-vid, but I don't actually think that's the difference. The Patreon videos are deeper dives-so whether someone gets a deeper dive depends on JT's interest in not just the QB but the offensive scheme.
I was wrong to post the comment, and I would take it down but for the comments already posted. Free content viewers can't be choosers. I would love to be a part of the Patreon community, but I already spend way too much time on college and pro football. Was really hoping to hear the analysis after Goff went 18/18 and 13/14 against the Vikings blitz.
... ??? That has to be the oddest request I've ever seen on here. "Hey JT, now that this guy who was playing terribly is done for the year thanks to an injury, can we get a video analyzing him?"
