Mattsson 261S Motorgrader grading a gravelroad "S for Scania engine" Hyvling av grusväg med en Mattsson 261S S står för Scania motor en DS8 eller DS9 2011-09-29
I'm from Lithuania and just wanted to ask maybe you can tell me how the grading quality control works in Sweden? I see this operator is doing a great job, but if he was not, who would you call? I would be very grateful if you would describe how it works in Sweden, because to me it looks like you guys have figured it out. My municipality is hiring this company which does terrible job: www.dropbox.com/s/ssrlbmhqypbkf9f/IMG_1604.JPG They sometimes are grading in the rain (he is coming back so the blade is up): www.dropbox.com/s/ajxzpwt4q416xzr/IMG_0988.JPG They just push all the gravel to diches till they fill up and there are no more ditches and then they make these borders which you can see in the photo. This way the road gets wider and wider, with less and less gravel on it and no place for water to go to. Tack så mycket:) p.s. You can reply in swedish, if it's more convenient:)
At first there is of course studies of how to maintaine gravel roads. Literature is also to be found. The contractor has knowledge in this. The roads is divided in three categories, public (financed by the goverment), community (non profitable economic associations with elected locals. Financed by a goverment-contribution together with charges of the locals by the road) and private. It occurs to me as the road in the video is a community road. The roads has a specific maintenance, over a year, dicided by the working board which also hires a contractor for the specific job. If the work is not properly done the job will be reclaimed. There can of course be many reasons of a bad result and one of the most common is because of a lack of gravel, which is hard to blame the contractor for. The road in the video looks lovely to work in with a lot of gravel.
