Who could not love this guy? Immediately, I googled him. Impressed me even more. We share the same roots. Have been planning to watch The Bear, now I will definitely watch.
Look up his RU-vid shows also. He's amazing. Notice how he was getting animated towards the end of the interview? It's that turned up to 11 in his own cooking shows. 😂
If you close your eyes and listen to his voice... You could imagine an animated character, like a bird talking about his cook book 😂. I think he could do a very funny VA career.
3:29 The Blue Goose! Our family's go to restaurant back in the day! Had many meals with my grandparents there ❤ Can confirm their rolls, and everything else they made was amazing!
So much love for Matty! Also repping the Dead shirt on the cover of his cookbook, makes this head happy. Now all I wanna is a gooey grilled cheese from a parking lot vendor.
I'm not really "proud" to be a Canadian. National pride is sort of a weird concept to me. But that man is a goddamn national treasure! I just love everything he does. I had to take a break from his youtube videos because it hurt to laugh that hard everytime.
I remember Matty cooking in a bathtub! LOL! And he was making a bolognaise and he said it shouldn't be red, it should be BROWN! And he's right!! That's when the sauce is meaty and rich! None of that thin, watery tomato sauce! LOVE HIM!!
Matty, sorry to correct you, but in an effort to decrease the number of people confused about Canada's geography, Whitehorse is actually in Yukon Territory, not Northwest Territories.
Loved Matty the first time Vice shot him in his apartment making hamburgers. I knew he was an instant star. His video style and edits are food for the soul.
This is the first time I've seen Matty in a suit. Looks a lot like a character from an Aussie comedy tv show way back, also called the Late Show. They did a dub of an old cop show and Matty resembles the lead.
He mentioned years ago, that he hated they way tv food shows talk about and present the food as snobby and unreal. So he shows the "behind the scenes" of switch outs and other TV show edit outs.
Ever listen to Jordan Peterson being a stupid person trying to sound smart? Ever been in a room full of Canadians bitching about Americans? All plenty loud.
My husband put me on to Matty. I got so frustrated with the way he put the things together, I’m like, he’s a chef? And the more I watched, the more I liked him. When I saw he was gonna be on the show, I thought cool! Matty is cooking on the show. Nope! However, he’s funny as heck!
Whitehorse is in Yukon. Yellowknife is the capital of Northwest Territories. Minor mistake but he was probably young then. Still a character & a nice guy.
He never lived there, maybe never been there, and just knew it was 'way up there' compared to his home in Fort Erie. It would be like asking me about some obscure city in North Dakota.
Mr. Matheson, on behalf of the entire country of Canada, we're so terribly sorry for putting Whitehorse in the wrong place. It's our fault, really. We shall endeavour (with an unnecessary "u") to rectify it immediately. Please accept a Tim Hortons gift card as a token of our collective remorse.
advert for the next person coms up too early. missed it when it wasn't but now it cuts out seeing Colbert. and us older need to get right back not search for it. please
I was not expecting this. The only actual chef on the show, whose character doesn't cook - and who happens, in real life, to be the funniest person there. Highly recommend you check out his cooking channel. You've probably seen nothing like it. It's akin to Tim, Eric and Julia.
Well he did say he's from East Coast of Canada and is the Canadian Atlantic coast gumbo 😂😂😂 But yeah, Chef Issac Toups of New Orleans would not approve 😂😂
