Mauga | Overwatch 2 Ability Interactions 

One thing that wasn't shown is that Lifeweaver can actually pull allies out of the ult, saving them. Same goes for their own team's Mauga whenever they ult and get chained down.

One interaction that i noticed while playing: If a Bastion is on your team, he can wait for Mauga to pop ult, trapping anyone inside the cage, then, Bastion can pop his ult and nuke the inside of the cage

The fact that his ult shuts off movement abilities is terrifying.

Mauga is able to counter charge another Mauga. I did it a couple times while playing deathmatch

It’s pretty funny that the character whose kit is built around being similar to a boxer can do basically nothing in the Ultimate called Cage Fight.

Lifeweaver can pull people out of the ult, including the Mauga that used the ult (if they're on the same team of course) this keeps the ult active, but Mauga loses his infinite ammo capability. Symmetra not only can teleport people out of his ult, but she can do it from the inside. What I mean is, if she's already inside a enemy Mauga's ult, she still can place a teleporter and teleport out of the ult

Mech Dva and Baby Dva are different and strange entities. For example: -Since ult chains only in Line of aight. You can demech or remech out of sight to unchain yourself. -Yes, if you ult while chained - Bomb mech still chained, BUT. if you launch Bomb mech into the ult - it won't chain it. -Ult has walls only on side of cylinder. -if you place ult on payload - the root visibly will be on top of payload, but actually is bellow. -Bellow the root ult doesn't chain. So if your entire body is under the root - you won't be chained -If chained player will drop bellow root without ground under them - they will swing on chain. -Remember, the actual body of ult is the 1500hp wall. Almost easy to break as Reinhardt's

Not sure how I feel about his charge beating Reinhardt’s. They’re both just as committed. Two huge guys charging each other like that should cause an explosion that wipes both teams. Instead he just power creeps Rein.

Just noticed his first person (or third person really), sometimes has a broken run animation when charging. 4:58 From the perspective of other players, he is running. From his own, he's kinda just slowly flopping his legs around

im just glad his fire passive does crit damage to orisa's fortify.

Quick thing I noticed from testing Mauga with friends is that he can only be stunned on the exact first frame of his charge. So you have to be ridiculously lucky for it to work

Another thing that can happen is that DVA can EAT HIS ULT If dva has matrix up and mauga uses ult she can eat it From what i can tell the window us so small it makes blocking a rein smash look easy

i would love to know his numbers, from my limited ability to test it seems cardiac overdrive gives 30% resistance and 60% lifesteal also looks like 30% resistance during overun

I did notice that the cooldown on his healing ability is kinda weird. The ability lasts for about 5 seconds and after that you get 10 second cooldown, while the cooldown bar suggests it should be around 20. His ability cannot be canceled by himself, but can other heroes cancel it, resulting in longer cooldown?

Something missing that I'm not surprised many people don't know: If part of the ult is over a ledge, you can drop down. You'll still be chained to the center, but if the drop is far enough, you'll eventually disconnect the chain.

Each day pin just gets worse and worse. Man what if pin has cc immunity

Ok so an idea to make this interesting either make the wall into a field you can still enter and escape the field depending on ability and just make it a full on fight to the death with the infinite ammo for all, longer/extended cooldown abillites, no switching weapons, no passive and armor/shields dont have effects or make so no one goes in or out and which case it has a resonable long time limit with all abilites can be used inside it.( the cage disables sooner if one or more teammate/enemy has survived)

He seems like he was designed for players who don't wanna think too much

I remember playing a match in Samoa as Mauga and in the same team was a Baptiste, so as the round began Mauga said "You and Me Baptiste, you and me"

if you find high enough ground then jump down from it you can actually escape the ult and before it lets you go, you get a small amount of vertical momentum! i have tested this

btw mauga's gunny will also crit targets lit on fire by ashe dynamite

I remember that 1 manga I respect for the entire rank match He always kept the ult until with dva bomb or last enemy push on the payload. He uses his not not for the kills but rather for the carry

Ok I really love how he can just barge through sigma rock proving that he’s a mountain. That rein one I’m a bit sad by I wish they had a unique interaction where they’re both head butting each other for a stand still trying to prove who’s stronger and you need supports to get the upper hand.

Lifeweavr tre can actually be set on fire, so mauga deals a lot of dmg to it, even critting it with his righthand gun.

You didn’t show charge vs Orisa fortify

Mauga's Ult looks incredibly overtuned in terms of how many abilities it disables. That's just messed up. A better design would've been to allow trapped heroes to use movement abilities but can't be used to escape the chain. (E.g. Tracer's Recall only recalls her back to a point where she'd still be in the chain's area, Kiriko's tele only works on other chained allies in it.)

they should make it so that you can still use movement abilities inside cage fight, even if you can't leave. so heroes like doom still have a fighting chance

Kiriko, and I’m guessing Hanzo and Genji too, can’t wall climb while in the cage fight ult

The new tank looks good and that don’t get me wrong but ether make the cool down a little longer or make it where other players like rein and doom mains can knock each other down and maybe brigs shield bash therefore he’s not too over powered but the rest is fine

I’d like to know if rein can shatter Mauga while hes charging.

Would love to combo his ult with Zarya's or Sigma's if we has 6v6 back. ;C

Man I feel at least characters with movement abilities should be able to use them within the confines of the mauga ult. Doom punch, genji swift strike, etc. give them at least a fighting change against an ult that will almost always guarantee death
