"THE QUIET MAN" / O'Hara & Wayne, one of The Best Movies ever made..watch it every St. PATRICK'S DAY along with cabbage, potatoes, carrots & corned beef! Maureen O'Hara & John Wayne is/were/was THE BEST COUPLE EVER. She was so beautiful it would steal your breath. She had "pluck", guts, unspoiled, & never complained. A True hero for women to TRY to live up to. God bless you, Maureen!!!
Classy actors and actresses still exist, but are hard to find and rarely get jobs in the Harvey Weinstein style Hollywood is today. What a shame that filth has to win out over class... such was the life of Christ too.
She is in a very special class of people which I would include her great friend John Wayne. The socialist actors today couldn’t even stand in their shadow they are a disgrace to this country. Despicable.
I was just a young boy in 1970 when I saw Maureen O’Hara on film for the first time, and (apparently) said to my mother: “She’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.” My mother, another Irish beauty, agreed. I was completely smitten and would remain so. She was a goddess.
I can not say how many times I have watched the movies with her and John Wayne. I never get tired of watching them. They seemed so natural together, it was not like they were acting. It was more like they were just being themselves. Wonderful talent , and great beauty.
When Maureen was in England appearing at our Swan Theatre in Worcester, she came in to the shop I was working in to buy tights. This was around 1980. She bought about 6 pairs and I served her. She was a really beautiful and radiant woman.
One story to add to Jerry's: When working with John Candy (the star) he noticed how the producers gave Maureen a small trailer while his was robust. John, having the deepest respect for Maureen insisted that she be given the honor she is due. The producers, feeling ashamed brought in another large trailer for her.
More than a class of actors, Maureen was in a class of people that have slipped away and the likes of which we will probably never see again. Definitely a Class act, like John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, & Lucille Ball.
Whenever a Maureen O’Hara movie is shown on TV, I watch it even though I’ve seen it numerous times. She’s such a talented actress and a beautiful woman. I also can’t resist the lure of a redhead.
I'm a child of the 50's and grew up watching Ms. O'Hara working with John Wayne. She always seemed to have a certain charm about her, and I don't recall ever hearing any vicious rumors about her. I'm not one prone to emotion, but this brought a tear to my eye.
She was always my favorite actress and loved all the movies she made with John W. Such a beautiful woman inside and out. 😔❤ Maureen O'Hara is a legend and is missed greatly.
For my money, the most beautiful shot I've seen in ANY movie was that of Maureen O'Hara as the gypsy girl with Charles Laughton in "The Hunchback of Notre Dame." It was unforgettable, as was the entire film. A belated "Merry Christmas" to you Jerry, for informing and entertaining us all year long.
This is so moving, I guess of the tens of thousands of fans - I know I'm the odd man out - when I mention what a strong woman is I tell friends to just take a look ar Maureen O'Hara, and then they'll see what standing up and holding your own really means. She's always in my prayers and nothing will beat her looks on the screen...RIP
Well said, as a young girl who grew up watching silly women on screen who would run and fall down and always had to be rescued because Hollywood portrayed women as frail and without common sense or courage, Maureen O’Hara was my heroine, for her courage, intelligence and Spunk!
One story to add to Jerry's: When working with John Candy (the star) he noticed how the producers gave Maureen a small trailer while his was robust. John, having the deepest respect for Maureen insisted that she be given the honor she is due. The producers, feeling ashamed brought in another large trailer for her.
@@connienania486 These so-called actresses of today wouldn't even come close to the integrity, class or intelligence of a toenail from Maureen O'Hara or Olivia de Havilland!!
She was one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen, inside, and out. I never missed anything she played in, she never seemed artificial or generic. She is surely missed by one, and all. Jerry I never tire of you, your narration is always at the top. I love your soft soothing way of speaking, and very informed stories. God Bless
Every March I make sure to watch “ the Quiet Man,” with Maureen O’Hara and John Wayne . Thank you to both of them for preserving the Irish spirit , my heritage . Ann honey Feeney .
She was a gorgeous redhead packed with talent and charisma. She was a dynamo is missed and loved.Sje will live forever for a great career and personalitu
They made The Quiet Man just down the road from me, in Cong County Mayo They now have a lovely statue of John and Maureen to commemorate the film, Really enjoyed this video 👍
Thank you Jerry for the wonderful job you do! I'm 67 & I remember seeing several of her films when they first came out. Her & John together were some of my favorites. Also Spencer's Mountain was a great one with Mr. Fonda. Her mom, her & all of her sisters were beautiful women. I've learned so much about her & her family that I never knew until now. It won't make any difference in my life, learning so much about these amazing folks, I grew up watching. It does make me feel better though, & that's all that matters to me. Again Jerry, thank you for taking all the time you put in, in the producing of these wonderful documentaries!❤
Jerry you surpassed yourself this time. Exquisitely produced with flawless editing and narrative. The pause at the end to reflect on her breathtaking beauty is in my mind done with greatest sensitivity. Thank you.
I was never much into redheads but she was SO beautiful! And, I loved her acting and personality. May she rest in Peace and always be remembered kindly and with respect.
Wonder why they didn't mention her role in the Christmas box with Richard thomas and her role in the parent trap with John wayne those were very memorable movies
@@cathecavanaugh615 she also won the part of Anna in the king and I with yul Brenner but was rejected by Richard Rogers. She had a great voice and would have been great!
Jerry, thank you for a wonderful tribute to the love of my life. I first saw Maureen as Mary Kate Danahier and was was In love with her as a pubescent man until 64 which I am now. She was the quintessential Lady and when she passed away I felt like I had lost my best friend. Thank You for such a great video from Down Under 😎😎🐝
Mr. Skinner . . You do the finest job of narrating these bios that I have ever heard and i am being very honest sir Thank You . . Ms. O' Harra was one of my favorites !
This video is about Maureen O'Hara and may i ask you, and still remain fanfull in your comment, to Edit her name first and the perfect pairing O'Hara & Wayne. Thank You I too am a fan.
One of the most beautiful (inside and outside) people of the world...and there is only a handful that fit this category...thank you Jerry for posting this beautiful tribute to Ms O'Hara....
Aww Jerry Thank You so much I asked a favor a couple of months ago if it was possible to do a bio on Maureen O'Hara a beautiful and charming very good actress. You did a great job . she had a smile that lighted the screen. So sorry her daughter passed away at 71. Love all your work Jerry. Thank you for taking us on a journey back in time. 💖
She and John Wayne are my all time favorite actors. Today’s acting is really a joke. These people worked under very different and much more difficult circumstances. The world will never be the same. The greatest generation is gone forever.
My gosh Jerry....l always like in movies, she was the same in real life as she was in the movies....Thanks again my friend....Hope you are doing.....l guess l am at 80 years old....Still getting along just a little slower sometimes.... lol
@@JerrySkinner1943 When your film comes Mr Jerry I open always firstly no matter what. Your voice and music are suiting and bringing a piece of mind. You have the best narrative. You are number one.
What a beautiful thing you did. I'm only 55 years old, but I've been a film buff my whole life, courtesy of my mother. I've always considered Maureen O'Hara one of the special ones, and one of the most beautiful. They don't make them like that anymore. Thank you for making this. MSJ
A classic beauty gets the classic Jerry Skinner biography. You always have such a gentle, respectful way of doing these. Maureen seems to have been a woman and actor worthy of respect.
The best history channel on You Tube. Always click the like button.... Before I watch any Jerry Skinner biographies!!! Maureen OHara was such a powerful presence and huge unselfish talent in Hollywood Knew who she was and what she wanted. Never got spoiled, by fame. Thank you, Jerry!!
Even as a young boy, I found Mz.O'Haras' looks quite pleasing. Talented actress , always a good performance, from what I've seen. Thanks for another interesting mini biography. I especially like the fact that you don't try to hide your regional accent. Your vocal qualities and accent make your narration all the more real to me. Remind me Jerry, where do you hail from? I live in West Virginia and it's a state of many accents. I appreciate all of the work that you do to bring us these great videos. Respect and Blessings from WV. 🙏
My favorite movie is "The Quiet Man" but second is " Miracle on 34th Street" which wasn't mentioned. Thank you for this wonderful tribute to a great actress and person.
Very interesting video Mr. Skinner. I remember her most from her roles beside John Wayne in McClintock and Big Jake and The Quiet Man. My grandpa was a huge John Wayne fan so alot of the older movies that I grew up watching were Jobn Wayne movies.
She was in a movie with Richard Thomas that was great. An elderly woman that let a family move in with her to work or her. She is one of my favorite actresses.
I saw Rio Grande again the other night. Good plot and characters well played. Never get tired of quality like this. Thank you, Jerry, for your wonderful videos.
