The dial pattern is actually different on the AP, they are all flat squares. On the Girard Perregaux Laureato it’s the same as on the ML. The thickness is also identical at almost 11mm. But the Laureato is £12000, which is a bit steep for an homage. I’d go with the Maurice Lacroix
I have a ML Pontos and I stopped enjoying it for some reason, then I wore it the other day and realized it is a very nice looking watch. There is really a lot of detail into the finish. I like the Aikon style, but I have a Seamaster that is in for service that I got used and haven't been able to enjoy...I'll need to wear that for a while before I look at purchasing another watch.
Hey Bob, long time... I hope you are well! It's certainly funny how the ML 11391 calypso has almost evolved into the Royal Oak, well at least influences of Gerald Genta's work. It actually reminds me more of the Rolex Oysterquartz in design, with an evolution of the vintage rolex date ref: 6919 (I think?) Bezel. If they changed the design of the dial, hands and markers, I think the watch would definitely look that bit more unique.

Of course it is a hommage 😄 and I have mixed feelings about it... in fact that is the Strange royal oak wasnt copied until these days if we think about how much times the Rolex sub was ... 😅 so its a little bit plusz / mínus feeling but the ML piece Looks Nice and I am really thinking about it to get and try one thanks to your video 👍👍👍👍😎
ThatBoy Zaka some other manufactures if they don’t offer micro adjustments they usually offer half links and that can normally give you good fit. It’s a shame though this this is a nice watch.
