AP would be upset to see this Aikon quality so close to their overpriced RO. I can easily buy this and use the balance money wisely and have the best of both world. Love what Maurice Lacroix is doing !
Great video and thanks for posting. Thoughtful and honest and I particularly appreciate the commentary on how it fits in your collection and mentioning the zenith upscale options. Thanks and wear it (and your other beauties) in good health! Cheers!
Nice review! It is good to see that there are watch enthusiasts like you out there who enjoy watches simply because they like them, no matter whether it is a Rolex, a Jaeger or a Maurice Lacroix! Keep up the good work! Greetings from Germany
This is a purchase I will never regret. Amazing build and accuracy with superior design. I give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. This is probably going to be a sleeper watch.
I just stumbled upon a brand new Aikon Automatic Chronograph with black dial and steel strap for less than 2000 € and your positive feedback after one year owning an Aikon just made me hit the buy button ;) Thanks!
I am so glad I found you with this watch. Yesterday me and my girlfriend went to try and reserve a mido decompression timer that ll be out on the first of november. We live in Tuscany and we have been told they are already been reserved and they will only get one or two in front of ten reservations. That would have been perfect cause the mesh bracelet would have let us wear the watch both without adjusting the bracelet. In the end we got out of the shop with a blue 39mm aikon with bracelet and strap for 1250 Euros. I don t see much love for the watch but seeing you wearing it makes me happy. You have great taste and you dealt in very high end watches :) So we didn t make a mistake buying it :)
I have this watch and love it. I met a buyer face to face to sell an SKX of all pieces. He was wearing an AP Royal Oak Chrono. I handled it and was not impressed. It was beautiful but light . It didn’t feel solid at all. The Aikon on the other hand just feels robust and solid. It’s also super comfortable.
Ive been waiting for a video just like this one. Loved to hear your toughts about the watch after owning it for over a year. Thinking about buying it but the 39mm not the 42mm :)
Great video!!! If it wasn’t for the Oris 65 with bronze bezel I’m saving up for, I would get this one. Thank you and keep up the great content!! 👍🏼🙌🏼👌🏻
It looks great on him because he has large wrists. I would say just from the vid about 18 cm circumference. If you have smaller wrists it won't wear nearly as well.
this is a really beautiful watch , my hubby actually bought me the 42mm battery version , as i love big watches lol , i also have the blue one , & ive actually bought the pen to go with it , & even that is quite heavy with a dial finger shape clip on the side , it's brilliant lol .
Been looking at the oris aquis clean ocean, dying to pull the trigger. However, this watch is beautiful, light catcher and I bet it looks good with the blue strap also. My head is now mashed.
Thanks for the review. Great watch. I am also thinking about buying this watch . I would like to see some improvements on the watch, but for the price it is very very good. A see through case back on this watch and a quick release bracelet was not important for me. This watch looks the best on the bracelet. Instead I would have loved to see a better movement (own ML or ETA) with a little bit more power reserve. Another improvment would be the clasp (micro quick size adjust) and screws on the bracelet.
У меня уже полтора года(1,5) механический хронограф Айкон и мне он безумно нравится по прошествии времени он во мне все также вызывает радость и положительные эмоции. А Селита SW500 надежно работает и точность хода остается в паспортных прелелах. Привет из России.
The Zenith Defy Classic you mentioned is a spectacular watch, but it retails for $7400, and a preowned one is still over $5000. So I don't think it will offer much competition for the Aikon.
Hi! I’ve been looking at this watch for a while. What’s your wrist size? I’m so torn between the 39 and 42mm. I live in Australia so there is a lack of ADs showcasing these.
Do you still have this watch? I’m considering buying it. I really like the Zenith but it’s a little out of my price range. You think this is worth it if I can pick it up for 1200$ new?
pubbzie I was just wearing it the past couple of days in fact. The Zenith (Defy I suppose?) is a step up in terms of prestige perhaps but I still love the Aikon. Its only downside is that “#metoo” aspect. For the rest it’s a cracking watch that feels solid and carefully made. $1200 is about what I paid. A Zenith is a lot more but not 4 times the fun.
@@pubbzie5866 if money is no object go with what talks to you. Zenith is more pretigous brand among watch collectors and it is a very nice watch. For quality and value ML is right up there. To me it is subjective buy what is more apealing to you
Both are great brands Ebel has a longer history behind it if that matters to you. I would make sure you compare comperable models to be fair to both brands. I have the same Aikon watch in the video and I really enjoy. It is quality through and through and a great bang for the buck. I like Ebel as well and they do have a long horological history you will not go wrong either way. Buy what talks to you.
