Watching it again the autel to me is clearer more details and has a sharper not soft image as the dji. The color are off on the dji, it too yellowish, and in the sky background ,it's lighter but it has a reddish color in a black sky as thought the sun is still going down. I like both and this the best so far that dji has gotten to autel in night video, with all the noise , like in the 5.1 k clip. But now that the autel is cheaper. it a much better value.

Big fan of the Hasselblad Color Science 😍 👌 - I've had the Mavic 3 since release in the early problem filled times, but always figured DJI would stick with it to get the best out of it. Recent upgrades have been phenomenal! ✨️

Preference for sharper or softer imagery is very subjective. DJI has softer imagery, Autel has sharper/more detailed imagery.

Me, normally I love arguing about this stuff but I'm tired of it at this point. With Autel all but giving away the Lite+ these days, you really can't go wrong. I will say this, image preference is subjective but there's no question which company produces an overall better drone.

I think Autel does a great job with night photos and video. I have been thinking of getting this drone and with the current price it may be the time. Thanks for the comparison. I currently have the Mavic Air 2. Still a good drone but becoming a little out-dated.

Just an FYI. Shooting at night or day with the Autel at 4k 30fps gives you a MUCH WIDER view than at 4k 60fps. Apparently it crops into the sensor at 60fps. Do you remember what FPS you shot at? Great video though!

30fps for all my shots. 60 FPS crops more. Night mode is even worse.

Autel Evo Lite plus does a nice job. Happy with my Orange UAV.

You get more color on the DJI because the Mavic is simply exposed brighter. But because of that, there is far less detail in the brightly lit areas (like the parking lot across the dark train tracks as well as the rooftop.) Remember that automatic exposure level is a CHOICE by the manufacturer. Because that, as well as because the sensitivity of each sensor is not the same, I believe the best way to compare the actual performance of the camera systems as far as clarity is VISUALLY to match the exposure levels (using the same smartphone screen). Only then can you determine which system gives you the sharpest image (objective) and most pleasing color (subjective).

@@xavier_arthur hassalblad colour is very good but it is totally overhyped. The colour science on the Lite+ is also very good, but just a bit over-saturated.

Love Night modd on Mavic 3. I've had Mavic 3 since November 2021. Had Evo 2 Pro. Sold it in a weak moment. Figured the Mini 3 Pro/Mavic 3 are all I need, and they are! But a) I like variety. b)I also like deals: Evo Lite + Premium bundle at 33% off, $1200! Too good to pass up. Not quite the deal of Air 2S/RC Pro kits at what was it, 1650? let down for Lite + = No Smart Controller available. Flying with my Phone in 2023 is nuts. I'll probably just grab a Tripltek at some point, even if it's a lot more gear than an RC (RM330) or RC Pro (RM510) of.. which I have both. He'll, I'm trying to decide which controller to attach my Alientech DUO II to! 🤔 seems nuts to put it on Lite + when attaching it to EITHER DJI Controller allows me to fly it with all my DJI stuff. Then again, DJI doesn't NEED a range extender for 90% of flights. Sigh. Decisions... Decisions. It's a difficult life, lol. I know your a fan of Lite Plus, and while it's automation isn't as slick, I don't care for Fixed Aperture, so Mavic Air 2 flew to a new home, as did Mini 2, and Air 2S isn't my cup of fixed aperture. We will see. I have 30 days, and like you and Mavic 3, it may get adopted, or it might go back. The internal battles you had over Mavic 3. The conflict was real, you suffered greatly, lol!

A very close comparison. Given the price difference & sensor size difference, you'd expect the prosumer level Mavic 3 with 4/3 sensor to be streets ahead of the consumer level Lite+ with 1" sensor, but it wasn't. Was the Lite+ used in super night mode ? Never tried super night mode as I can't fly at night here in Australia. The white balance didn't look right with the Mavic 3 as it looked quite yellow. Certainly the DJI drones have far more polished software/firmware than Autel.

The standalone Hasselblad pics do look better but many guys like me take only video & pull-out pics from that footage...so in all practicality, it's the Autel for me.

@@xavier_arthur I tried all 3, at one point the regular was sufficient but some how none of them look as good as they use to. Autel said they haven't done any changes to the camera, I'll wait and see what you come up with. Thank you

Xavier, I live in prescott valley , Az i was flying my new mavic 3 classic, i tried to have Dji repair under a flyway, But they said i decended intothe water in sport mode. I was not able to afford drone only so wondered if you could get me a drone replacement.

Not quite accurate there. The range is better than lite Plus, It only has 8 bit log no 10 bit, But at least you have manual controls in log. It also has the old alltel explorer app interface which I really enjoy. Except the wheels are not clickable or customizable 😭 on the new controller 🎮 Just came back from flying mine

Had the Autel Lite+, for 6 months (returned it) and now the Mavic3 classic. The WB problem that Autel had was extremely problematic WITH NO TRY TO FIX IT. Always Dji's color, it's more accurate and feels more cinematic. Autel's Nignt Mode IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!! It's so oversharpened like from a mobile phone. Also, if the video has very dark and very bright parts, you will see how bad the shots are, especially if they "contain" the sea... Yoy must testing night shots with HLG mode..

I agree on Autel’s Night Mode. I have both drones and find the Autel to have those little quirks. As a complete product, the Lite + just isn’t as refined (still think it’s weird they released the drone without 10-bit). In my opinion, the Mavic 3 has the better image, no question. But the caveat is you have to be in pro mode, settings properly dialed in, and then grade the D-log. I could see people looking at both drones in auto and think the Autel has the edge. Other issues I have with the Lite + are the charging station is not designed well. I have to fidget with the batteries to get them on there. Some of the batteries don’t securely click into the drone, that may be a quality control issue but could easily lead to a crash. The remote feels like a quality product but also has little design issues I kept the Autel because there is no geofencing. I take both with me on-site just in case DJI won’t let me take off. So I would say that’s a feather in Autel’s cap.

@Brian In Lite+, EV NEVER WORKED! When you are in pro mode YOU DON'T KNOW HOW UNDER OR OVEREXPOSURE YOUR SETTINGS ARE. Also a major design failure is the fact that the camera almost rests on the ground. It may encounter an obstacle when it starts working, causing the camera not to work!!! It doesn't have 10Bit!!! Within 10 months they have dropped its price by almost 40%!!! To release a new firmware, it takes 2-3 MONTHS!! and every new firmware, "fixes" some things and breaks more!!! I really don't see why anyone would buy it!!!

@@DroneStories a clarification about the Lite+ - Pro settings mode does not work with Log (video). Pro settings mode does work with DNG images (raw), JPG images & MP4 video. DNG (raw) images for EVO Lite+ is 12 bit colour. Log video, JPG images & MP4 video is 8 bit colour.

@@DroneStories no. However let me point out the Mavic 3 is a prosumer drone. The Lite+ is a consumer drone. The Evo 2 is Autel's prosumer drone and is a better comparison to the Mavic 3.
