Guys, could you please, please increase the volume of your voices and lower the volume of the music? If the music fades in, it might not be much louder than your voices. Beside that, great videos, keep going, your tips are the best!
Ok Guys.. after 35 yrs almost In various arts... THIS is possibly the SINGLE BEST tutorial for beginners AND experienced artists (who maybe didn't learn traditional / correct setup and clambering with retraction. Aimed with knee, don't over extend, retract dynamically and torso alignment. Should've learned this as a yellow belt. Didn't get till I was green... (Trad. Okinawan) FANTASTIC vid clip. And love love LOVE the over and under fist/target drill. Did those till my legs were shaking back in the day !!! EXCELLENT LESSON. Thx for it being SUCCINCT !! peace yall !!
Keep up the awesome videos ! They have helped me improve my karate so much! Speed , power and reaction! May you and your families also be safe in this current world madness! OSS!!
Hey Guys.. I've been practicing with a punching bag but noticed that the self-defense hit with the ball of the foot is quite hard of an impact on the toes -- as in the area of the ball of the foot extends to the flexed toe and causes hyperextension. I'm sure a factor is the freaking heavy punching bag but wanted to ask if you have some advice in how I can strengthen the kick when hitting it. Maybe... could be my angle positioning... Quite unsure and hard to explain in writing. #frustrated.
Need to kick past your target or through you target. kick is stopping midpoint and is rising at angle. not that it is no good but it is less effective.Japanese technique kicks with hinge or at knee. Korean kicking kicking technique is from hip so greater penetration. Kicking should be like walking forward. Also, chamber from roundhouse should be like table top. Should not be at angle or diagnal this will cause kick to rise and slip off opponent. kick through appointment. Don't short change your self.
hi guys , i am a black belt graduated in shito ryu style. i think you also in shito ryu . you are very useful for me for getting different techniques in kata and kumite.
When you show how to kick in zenkutsudachi postition and you are going foreward its wrong!!! In the hikite of the tecnique the hips must turn back, not the single down half leg............... Please pay attention to the theory of tecnique, no hips come back, its just an athletic movement.... Very good the exercises.
Super Videos Jungs! Sehr hilfreich!
Thank you TEAM KI, osu. I could use some advice from more experienced fighters. My leg always hurts while my kick reaches the opponent. I can feel strong pain from my feet to the knee. Does anyone experiences such a thing?
you guys are really awsome....i have seen many videos like these but most of them have many things incorrect..but after watching ur videos i have learnt a lot with ease...thanks sensei..s
I pivot the round kick on the back heal for the first part of the kick and switch to the front of the foot to pivot the second part of the kick. It makes my kick stronger. Having the entire pivot on the front or the back of the foot is weaker. I also never hit pads with the top of the foot because that is training for tournaments and not budo. Good for sparing but not for pad work.
Should one move on the heel of the foot rather than the ball of the foot? Which is correct or easier to execute? For me, both seem a bit difficult since I am new to karate.
whenever a kick is shown for demo, it is always done in high kick, that as if a kick is deadly if done high. I like what some demo where a kick is shown how it is done in a low or middle kick.
Yes Sure actually, there is both haisoku mawashi geri (the one showed in the video) , and chusoku mawashi geri (the one you hit with the ball of the foot).
