Max had his nails done. he was a lot calmer this time. he did get car sick like he normally does. buy he was good for the doctor and she only had to chase him for a few seconds. he didn't even yell at her.
she had neck surgery a few weeks ago and is on lite duty for work, but she said she would do his nails since she knew how to handle him.
today he is all back to normal.

He’s definitely a smart enough birdie and enough of a rascal to make a connection I think lol. Is it possible he’s working on a plan? 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks Dan for letting us see before, during, and after clips, it shows even better all the things both you and Max go through for these trips to the vet. Max was definitely calmer on the before part than in previous years, seemed like the only thing that really flustered him was having to be toweled to be put in the cage, lol. Sorry to hear he still gets sick on the car ride part, but sure perks up again when he gets home. At least now he is all fixed up for several weeks, and the next time he has to go it will be cooler weather out. It is interesting to see the whole process, from start to finish. I think that closure piece makes us all feel better. We love our boy so much that thinking of him getting ill, affects us. @@rhondaz356 That has always been my trick for getting through difficult times is to keep my mind locked on what it will be like after the task is completed, it has always worked for me, lol .. I have one friend who found a way to make vet visits easier for him and his bird .. he always took the bird to PetSmart afterwards to buy a new toy, so his bird began to associate the car ride not just with the vet experience but also with the pleasant toy buying experience, it definitely helped although I don't know if it would work with all parrots. Our poor boy getting sick...😪 We needed to see that he was chipper, and galloping around upon his return home. I would have loved to see the vet chasing Max around the room. I’ve had neck surgery and cannot see how the vet managed to handle Max! He is not a “light duty” bird! Sweet Max, it’s all over with now. I am sorry you got carsick. Running through poopie right after your pedicure…. I guess that shows what you think of clipped toenails! Thanks, Dan.

I love that you play music on the radio with the volume lowered, to calm & distract him during the ride. I did that for my sweet little green eyed Ginger before I lost her Jan. 5th to kidney failure & the vet said her other symptoms indicated she may have had cancer, too. She would have been 14 in March. Other than about 2 weeks of my life, between a loss & a new kitten, I’ve never been without a cat in my home. It’s been a very hard, lonely adjustment, but at near 70 with severe scoliosis, I will have to learn to let the memories carry me through the future. You are a good owner & obviously have a good heart, to take such good care of Max. He is blessed & he’s a smart, precious birdie. May God keep His hand of protection over both of you. 🙏

Awh, I am so sorry that you get car sick. I get nauseous and headachy from motion sickness too. At least you are not in a car very often. Dad wants your toenails trimmed so it is not painful for you to walk on. Now that you are home, you can relax and have fun playing with your toys. Hahaha! My parrot 🐦 does not love his vet 😂. But he loves going for car rides! Also, my parrot hated the carrier until I switched to a different style- not enclosed like that one, but just a tiny cage- style carrier. He loves it and will go in any time.

Wow what an ordeal for both of you! You’re an extraordinary person Dan ❤️. Max is hysterical hiding in the corner and telling you off once he’s in the cage. You had to throw a towel over his head had me laughing. So happy it all ended well.
