40% from 3 shooting almost 7 times a game. Spectacular. I remember back in the 2003-2010 the narrative was he is gonna become average once he loses his athleticism. Look at him now. Adjusted his game and aging like wine.

@@MrJonnyl123 ok but kd is kd. I think the average 3-point % in the nba is about 36%, and that factors in the three point attempts of spot up shooters and players who get open looks due to playing with star teammates. 40% is still spectacular, especially for a player like lebron who draws so much defensive attention and who has so many other elements to his game

Absolutely. Starting in his second season in MIA is when he really focused on that, and it helped me beat the OKC thunder to win his first. Then the next season that game 7 ahaisnt the Spurs, coach pop STILL wasn’t trusting that lebron could beat them from outside, so bron hits, I believe, 5 3s and 9 total jump shots, including ( my personal favorite lebron shot ever) that dagger long 2 he hit with about 30 seconds left to go up by I believe 3 or 4. He then parlayed that performance into his first 40% shooting the next year. He shot .406 on 3.3 attempts per game. This year, while his .396 is still only second to that, his 6.6 attempts per game really make it clear that THIS has been his best 3 point shooting season, despite his percentage being better than year. I do think we should give LeBron some credit for how solid he has been as a shooter, when it counts, for quite some time now though. I really think ever since Miami, as least from what I’ve seen, he’s been a very dangerous shooter at times. Even if we look at a lot of his clutch shots and game winners, many of them have come off very difficult long jumpers. Or remember his 2018/19 Cavs playoff run? Espeically that Raptors series? WoW! He was hitting just everything. Didn’t he hit like 9 fallaway jumpers in a row in one of those games? Hahahaah. Goat James bro!

Yes. And it makes sense when you think about one of his main mantras that he learned himself and also makes sure to imbue into all of his teachings and leadership: “learn to be comfortable with the uncomfortable” I’ve heard him say it many times, and it honestly is one of the things I myself have tried very hard to do myself, and one of the reasons I look up to LeBron as such a role model as a person, as we can all apply that to all aspects of our own lives, pro athlete or not. I remember a reporter asked him about how worried he was his first season in LA when all of the AD trade rumors were permeated throughout the organization and lockeroom by the media, and he said that he didn’t mind at all, because to become a champion you have to be able to be comfortable with the uncomfortable, so it was in a way a perfect challenge for the young guys on the team. I bring this up in relation with your statement because I think being comfortable with change and adaptable is synonymous with being comfortable with the uncomfortable/unknown. The truth is, ever since LeBron is changing skills, teams and tactics, everybody in the league is adapting. The Spurs had to force Kawhi in the starting five because he can guard LeBron. Golden State had to recruit KD to make sure LeBron and the CAVS won't win a championship. The Clippers had to recruit players, coaches and specifically designed plays in order to defeat the Lakers. Ever since LeBron joined MIAMI and transferred to Cleveland and L.A. he has always been the target because as LeBron gets older, he continues to innovate himself --- his style of play, his load management, him getting smarter, etc. He just steps up to a whole new level.

Woah..... a bit heavy on the hyperbole lol leBron was a streaky shooter when he first came into the league but he wasn't NEARLY as bad as you claim certainly better than giannis is today as far as his mechanics go his elbows were flared out a lot more and his footwork was a bit awkward but by his first MVP season his jumper was more then reliable it's actually astonishing how he averaged 27 and then 31 in his 2nd and 3rd years respectively because at that point the entire gameplan was to go under the screen in PnRs and sag off then let the C or PF handle it if he beats you

We can say the same about Kobe; Lebron won MVP in 09 and 10 but didn't get the job done in the playoffs ''when the dust settled'' or whatever Max is saying, while Kobe was ballin out winning two championships in a row showing who the best player in the world is. But Lebron def improved his 3 in the second half of his career. But don't get fooled by numbers; some say Lebron shoots the 3 better than Kobe based on percentages but Kobe is one of the best shooters and outside scorers we have seen, including 3's.

This is the kind of thing that will work in LeBrons favor over Jordan. His prime years in Miami will never eclipse Jordans in Chicago. But the longevity of his career, the records he's setting in all categories and the skill/athleticism he has for his age is extraordinary. If he manages to get another ring then I think we are going to see a legitimate new argument for what it means to be the GOAT. What's more important? A players Prime or his overall Career?

I have to say... Lebron's jump-shot has improved. I remember the 2007 Finals where Popovich's defensive scheme was to clog the paint and force Lebron to score from the outside in which his weakness was exposed. Popovich did the same thing in 2013 where the Spurs dared him to shoot, but the result was different. Normally, if Lebron had an open look or a defender would give that shot from the perimeter, he would take it, but now he looks for that shot on a daily basis. On that note, Giannis now finds himself in Lebron's shoes where he can physically bully his way to the rim at will, but the question that still looms is whether or not he can develop that jump-shot. In my opinion, Giannis not only needs a jump-shot but he could also use better footwork. For instance, Kobe, in the early stages of his career, was athletic and explosive, and as he grew older and more youth started to come into the league, he didn't have that same agility, but he was still able to adjust to his skillset & footwork that made him one of the best players/scorers in the game. Not to mention, he started to attempt more 3's than usual that made him even more lethal.

People in these comments be showing their bias real bad. LeBron isn't the best in the world anymore. KD would be able to do everything and more that Bron is doing on the Lakers and this is AFTER and Achilles tear. Bron is amazing and great but he will never have a 50-40-90 season or be able to average 32 after 18 months off of an Achilles tear. KD is doing something no one has ever seen before. He comes back from this injury almost looking better than when he left.
