@@tomatoesofdoom no.. max finally able to move on he finally can just accept what happened to his family he no longer stuck in the past he finally win against himself and those people you see he killed in this vid is a corrupt police unit that sell human to some organ harvesting organization
@@badinfluenceforchildren7777 lol max's story is that he doesn't move on. the entire point of the game was that he is so stuck in his Noir detective ways that random drug dealers from Brazil can see how one dimensional he is. they know that max payne will cause countless amounts of destruction as long as a woman is in danger. so when max finally realizes that in this game he doesn't fight against it and instead becomes the biggest destructive force he can be. he is a terrorist through and through at this point but at least he can stop the people who fucked him over personally and are currently fucking over the people he cared about like Pasos's wife and De Silva the cop
@@tomatoesofdoom I feel it’s more that after finally being able to save someone which felt like it was an eternity after not being able to save his wife and daughter he was sort of reinvigorated and more determined to basically take down the corrupt boss of Brazil and well as you can see he goes ham on the U.F.E. In the airport with a bit of a deathwish
As if the story had achieved it's beginning middle end moments. From the moment Michelle and Rose died Max had a long recovery to go through and we helped him achieve it. Him walking off at the end is the conclusion we needed, no more bad guys, just rest.
Honestly the shootouts in this game felt so hopeless and claustrophobic like there is no fucking way you would win against 20 dudes trying to kill you from every angle behind a small box from cover. But goddamn that moment you defy all odds and survive.
I'm still sad we just lost James McCaffrey. I played this game again a few months ago, and it's still a masterpiece in my view. James was a big part of that, and especially during his narration. Over a decade since this game came out, I still remember this mission among many others well.
This is probably one of the most ingenious scenes in any video game ever made. I loved this scene, it showed how dark the story was and how determined Max was. Probably my favorite scene in any video game. Just pure awesome.
+mineraftguy123 The thing is it's not even that clever of a design choice, i'm surprised games don't do this. But that's not me criticising, this was amazing when i played through it the first time. All i'm saying is by now people should know that music pumps you up if used right, and makes it more memorable and overall more awesome. Think Far Cry 3 with the ganja burning mission. That was sick.
This scene is so perfect. The song's lyrics sound like it's all the people Max lost pleading with him from beyond the grave to move on and find happiness. After so many years of pain (pun intended) he's earned the right to take a rest and feel something other than misery. This scene feels like Max is fighing to finally move on and find that happiness.
Yeah your right the song was made for the game and its basically maxs dead wife and daughter telling him to give up on them and to move forward in life on his own
This scene is weirdly beautiful, despite all the death and violence. It feels like the game was ramping up for this. It was the last burst of adrenaline at the end. That coupled with the theme playing in the background makes this game worth the price alone in my opinion
+Ell612 It feels like Max's whole life was leading up to this moment, I don't even think he legitimately plans on stopping Victor, same with Nicole in the skyscraper in the first game, I think he has a death wish and somehow he never dies, much to his own internal suffering.
+Jesse Slayton I feel the same way. here's where I vent about the whole series. to me max is cursed. every single moment i think he believes he is gpimg to die but doesnt for reasons we dont know. (character speaking. not gameplay) but gameplay has something along with this. its like we are forced to make max suffer by not letting him die. the first time i played tge airport shootout i was in awe. i think it would have been even better if he had memories of his family and the events of the other games. to me I don't think there should be another max Payne game. Max has suffered long enough. for once in his life he is at peace and has moved on. all i have to say
Because Max Payne started the bullet time shit. This game series has always had good gameplay. GTA V didn't do too bad either, though the gun play was not at this level.
@Ryan Fanstone Thats the opposite of i thought. The guns in GTAV felt my character was in a tub of molasses. Even with the sensitivity turned up it still felt wrong somehow. But then again i was playing on Xbox... now that i built a pc i may buy GTAV on it and see if it feels better
I like how Max is just like an unstoppable one man army destroying most of Rio's elite task force and trained mercenaries, and still nonchalant about the fact that he's probably killed more people than what's humanly possible
xMsry7 Max total kill counts in this game goes up to 1243 or more. That is freaking insane for a game character that is suppose to be "normal". The only other person that can match up the body count I can think of is Rico Rodriguez from Just Cause.
In real life, there's this legendary sniper from Finland named Simo Hayha who had at least 505 confirmed kills during the Winter War. Now, the Winter War lasted 3.5 months so this guy was absolutely wild. Probably no one else in history has more kills than him by a long shot (pun not intentional). So theoretically, what Max does is possible.
Na Cl yeah but the thing is to be able to shoot as fast as Max you would basically need a genetic mutation that allows you to see faster than an ordinary human
Totally my most favourite moment in game history not only because of how badass everything is but because of the emotion that you feel while playing the level, because of Max's pain through all these years. Truly fascinating. 10/10.
YES MAN! I keep telling people this is one of the best moments in video game history. This one is right up there with the final invasion battles on Mass Effect 3 in terms of epicness, but even then I rate this higher because the music is just hype.
+xcaluhbration hè you F.E.A.R exsists so stop saying This boring shooting gallery is so amazing first time in played i thought in loved it but something dident right
"There were UFE all over the airport and civilians were being moved out. Looking at it one way, shutting down the airport for their escape was a sort of "compliment" but one I didn't need." *Airport theme starts*
Imagine being such an absolute nightmare that a battalion of heavily armed elites had to shut down an airport JUST for you. One guy with a couple of pistols and a rifle at most, and it STILL wasn’t enough.
@@DestructionOfRome yup, they could've simply confronted him and arrest him but this is max Payne we're talking about, they know he shot up an ufe station not too long ago and he left without any major injury.
Hands down the greatest level in videogame history. The music and gameplay went together perfectly and everyone will never forget that feeling of playing this for the first time.
Rockstar have always been pretty genius with their choice of music, be it in Max Payne, Red Dead Redemption, they always manage to give goosebumps, no matter what.
I'm pretty sure Rockstar only made Max Payne 3. It was Remedy that made the first 2 games. Not going to dispute how epic this part of the game was though, it's like someone else said - that it's like all the actions movies i grew up watching prepared me for this moment in the game.
I bought the game twice. The original on xbox 360 and i loved it so much i bought the special edition for the statue and the small posters it came with. I still have the statue displayed and the awesome posters hang over my bed.
Everytime the song goes "Trust us now." I get chills and feel unstoppable. In fact, if you'd want to make this as cinematic as possible, I'd only start shooting and not take cover at all when the song goes "Trust us now."
Never turn your back on a man who took down multiple crime syndicates, shot his own partner, burned down a multimillion company, and drank half his life away.
I have never been so blood thirsty and calm in my life before. Incredible series. It is near impossible to create how I feel playing this scene after everything max Payne had gone through. Perfection. Give up on us, follow what you want. She had been dead longer than she had been alive. I just had to say one last goodbye. ✌️
One of the best games ever made. The best gun play I've ever experienced, the best story (aside from mafia 2), some of the best graphics ever, and most of all its incredibly fun, just flawless.
@@plutosmash6068 It is a nightmare that will put you up as a hero for the first five minute, only for it to push you down and kick your jaw open with the attrocities you done just for you to "feel" like a hero
Such an amazing scene. Max just realizes he's like the angel of death to these people and goes full Max Payne on 'em. Love the way the music progresses with the scene.
Still gives me chills. It's awesome watching it, but it's a phenomenal experience playing and experiencing it. Especially after all these years of playing this franchise, really hits the feels and feels like Max is coming full circle.
The best thing about this scene is when that music starts...woow that was fucking crazy n epic.....best action game and best by rockstar too...nailed it...
This is one game that got such a bad rap that it didnt deserve this has some of the tightest 3rd person gunplay that is so responsive and poppy I remember first playing this level and this song kicking in and it just gave me chills ,it's one of the most epic moments in any video game ,there's a handful of moments in certain games that just come together with the soundtrack and everything culminating in a hair raising moment that just emotionally effects you and it's only happened in a few games and it somehow mostly seems to come from anything rockstar puts their hands on if you haven't played this game you are missing out big fucking time this still holds up even now it is still one of the best 3rd person shooters of all time
This is one of the best things I have ever seen. The depth to it. A man with nothing to lose, lost in life holds on to his job so much he goes off the deep end to defuse a corrupt organization by facing an airport full of armed forces. All this while music plays about both letting go of as holding on to his late wife and child. As he his also torn between letting go of life and holding on to the mission and his sense of justice. You absolutely can't beat that.
🙋🏻♂️ Already hits pretty big considering it's Max's big moment of release from his past but after hearing about James' passing this hits so much harder
I think what made this scene is the fact that the song was not an instrumental and they kept the lyrics in. That and the cadence of the airport chimes in the background made it so memorable to me for some reason
max payne 3 was a masterpiece and health’s composure of the soundtrack was the cherry on top. the song playing in this video, tears, in particular is fucking gorgeous.
This stage of the game was THE perfect way to set up the finale. Just a massive shootout as you kill everything in your path as you ultimately make your way towards Victor and the last of his goons.
Maybe most of you are all to young but this SERIOUSLY instantly made me feel like I was back in the 80's in a kick ass scene of Miami Vice. As many state one of the best scenes in video game history right here. EPIC.
Goddamn I just played this part and beat the game in what felt like 10 minutes after. The surge of adrenaline you get when this track kicks in and Max (the player) just starts kicking ass is perfect. This is a man who has nothing to lose, once he's really begun to believe in something- A good man is at his most dangerous when there's nothing left for you to take but his life, because now he's dedicated what remains of it to stopping evil. That's Max Payne to a T. He's so deprived of decency and joy in his life that he jumps at any opportunity for comradery or a chance for redemption, and in the end learns to disseminate between the fight for a purpose greater than himself and the ability to live simply as a man finally at peace. That's one hell of an arc for a game that's 90's shooting holes in people.
oh my gosh this scene is like still making me feel like max its so good the whole game is super good at first i didnt want to play max payne 3 cuz i was like i played max payne 2 it was good but i didnt feel like it and my friend was like u must play it...i would so regreat not playing the game if i didnt play it.
I love Max Payne 3 it's one of my favorite games of all time. It's a shame that it wasn't really loved by a lot of people and it's a shame we will never see a Max Payne 4 or at least a remaster of Max Payne 3.
