Max Payne 3 - Chapter #4 - Anyone Can Buy Me a Drink (All Collectibles) 

I loved this mission primarily because of two reasons: 1) the backstory, and 2) classic Max suit.

Max Payne 1: The flesh of fallen angels! Max Payne 2: Dearest of all my friends! Max Payne 3: Where the fuck are your donuts?

Passos: at least let me buy you a drink. Also Passos: ANOTHER ROUND ANOTHER ROUND, *MAX IS BUYING*

This is my favorite chapter in the game, love the atmosphere.

You can tell this game was written with a different protagonist in mind. 1:15 - Nobody in the underworld, in their right mind, would talk to Max Payne like that. The guy singlehandedly destroyed the Punchinello crime family and Vlad's Russian Mob, not to mention brought down the Aesir corporation in a one-man, front door assault. That kind of stuff doesn't fly under radars. At this point, nobody would mess with Max Payne. Nobody.

Max sitting in a bar is literally me at anything fun or exciting, especially if I have nobody to talk to

Seeing Max in this classic look just makes me want a Max Payne remake

Tony: Disrespects Max's dead wife. Max: Roasts Tony by saying that everything he has is due to his father and he's nothing but a chump. Tony: Throws a temper tantrum and pulls a gun on him. What a spoiled brat. No tears where shed after his death besides his murderer of a father.

Love this game! Nothing came even close to this masterpiece!

12:31 I'm not quite sure but Brewer's words about the "fires" may be the reference to the events of Max Payne 3 on the whole. Let's recall the game events in right order, not in the way they are presented in the game. Max was sitting in the bar, "drunk on self-pity". When Passos offered him work, Max didn't want to accept it at first. I guess, the "fires" Brewer mentioned are the risks of this job (bodyguard): Max had to kill a lot of people protecting the Branco family and he is constantly upset about the fact that he is killing. He shows it through his inner monologues. At the end of the game he even accepts that he "had become a killer" (the moment where he is ready to execute Becker). The fact of "being afraid of the fires" means that Max was against becoming a bodyguard ("...still I wasn't interested in becoming a white knight again..." - Max Payne in the bar). He probably didn't want to "save the world" again (metaphorically), didn't want to risk his life again and again, saving people's lives (mostly in vain because those he saves still die in the end, like Mona). And the phrase "it'll (the "fire" will) make you clean on the long run", in my view, means the fact that at the end of the game Max kind of "cleansed" himself from the echoes of the past and started his life over, found his peace on the sunny beach. There are a lot of suppositions about Max no longer narrating at the end of the game. People connect it with the fact that Max finally left his dark past behind and started a new life. I think they are correct. So, if we put all these pieces together, we get the whole game plot. Max didn't want to accept bodyguard's job not wishing to take insane risks and save people again, maybe even being afraid of death ("was afraid of the fires"). In the end he had to accept the job. It throwed him into the vortex of events during which he wiped out a street gang, a paramilitary unit of organ-thieves and a spec ops unit of human trafficers. There were no moments where he felt happy about his actions. He suffered, was shot 'more times than he could remember" ("fires hurt him, charred his skin and bones"). As he is shown in the airport, his clothes are torn, there's blood on his hands, face, he is severely beaten and wounded, but he keeps on suffering. But having killed everyone who stood in his way, having destroyed the evil of Sao Paulo, having given the citizens a chance to feel free, stop being afraid of losing their loved ones, a chance to live happily, he finally found peace on the sunny beach ('the fire made him clean on the long run' - on the long way to the truth and to the end of the case). Sorry for such a long comment, I just wanted to show that Brewer's words might contain an Easter Egg or a reference to the game itself. I love the game and playing it again and again I found this possible reference. Anyway, if you've read it, thank you very much. The fighting was funny.

In the cutscene you see Passos go through the door that leads to the basement. When Max follows through the same door and descends the stairs, Passos is already in cover behind a wall on the left and the enemies aren't shooting at him. When Max comes in the enemies immediately see him and bullets start to fly. How did Passos get into the room without being seen? Maybe the enemies weren't there then, but in that case why has he stopped just short of the entrance? Wouldn't he move in and take cover behind the bar? It doesn't matter, of course, the playability of the game is completely unaffected = just a thought.....
