Lat pull down has been and still is the hardest for me. To fix this, make sure your shoulders are back and in a neutral position, and then with no weights, try to isolate flexing your lats. I could do it best laying down on my side with one arm in the air. Then you learn at different angles, upright is still hard, but I can feel why I never could get large lats. Great video! Thank you!
the reason it comes off the wall @ 3:10 is because you have it mounted upside down. instructions say if mounting high the cables should be coming out of the top of the unit, not the bottom like you have it, and vice versa.
does the "dial in" resistance weight exactly match the the weight of dumbells? does the resistance clutch wear out with use? does it provide the sam resistance going up and going down, the positive and the negative?
Thanks for your videos. It's nice to see real world users sharing their experience. I'm most likely going to get this device, in part thanks to you (COVID has, of course, some influence as well.) Regarding the "banging against the door" part of your video (2:55 or so), I noticed that the cables/straps are hanging from the bottom. In the MaxPro intro video (MaxPro RU-vid Channel), they have the cables coming out on the top. Have you tried turning the device "upside down" to see if it would make a difference?
Hey Marek. Thanks. Yea the Max Pro is definitely an A+ product for its portability and size. Yes you can turn max pro upside down with no problems. Hope this helps.
If you have the right training program then those dumbbells are all you need as well. I think for the price point it isn't worth it honestly. A few hundred dollars off and it would be a great purchase
Yes you only feel it on the on the extension phase but you feel roughly 5lbs on the reel in phase. However, you will get some major DOMS using this machine. I workout 5 times a week and my body is constantly sore. So, it can definitely build muscle. Hope this helps.
great video, i noticed you put the wall mount on the opposite side of the door, not the bracket side...its because the door isnt big enough right? are you worried that the door might snap when you put too much resistant on it?
No not really. I lift heavy it doesn’t come off. However, It’s better if you have two straps that way it’s impossible to move the Max Pro. Hope this helps.
It’s pretty smooth except for two exercises barbell bicep curls and barbell squats. These movements tend to jerk even if both sides have the same amount of resistance. You can definitely build muscle even in space with this device. Overall, I’m very impressed. As a weight lifter I don’t use free weights anymore. This device makes them obsolete. I hope this helps.
@@selfhelp9175 thank you! Appreciate your reply...and it does help. I've been on the fence for a while...I think I'm going to pull the trigger on this :)
Yes that's correct. Only about 5lbs on the eccentric portion. I've been using the Max Pro for nearly a year now. I've got pretty massive muscle gains from it. You need watch all my videos to get a full understanding how this machine works. You also need to understand that from a scientific perspective both concentric resisitance and eccentric resisitance damage the muscle. This has also been my experience as well. I still get DOMs after each workout. Hope this helps.
Yes, as Chino Webb said, you sat it in the door bracket upside down. And, how well does it work with that bench? Does the bump in the middle interfere with bench stability in any of the incline positions? Im waiting on the delivery of my incline bench. I plan to utilize it with the door bracket mounted at the bottom of the door, unless the towel approach provides stability and won't damage the folding joint we're not supposed to stand on. The MaxPro bench is too expensive.
I have a max pro, and it states not to put anything on the middle part of it,, i am not sure how the towel works in this video, but it looks like it does,..Also i bought the MaxPro Bench.. its good, it fits around the the MaxPro perfectly. but ya, the max pro clearly says not to put anything in the middle part.
@@nivlacasura They have to provide that disclaimer. Plus, they want consumers to purchase their overpriced bench. The MaxPro is constructed of metal, so it should withstand significant weight. However, they really need an adapter so it can work seamlessly with any bench.
@@oroebuck I wouldn't get their bench it's not worth it. . I have the ironmaster super bench and just got the maxpro. The ironmaster super bench fits perfectly on top of it without hitting the middle. Also the feet of the bench can't be more than 19 inches wide.
Are the cables resistant enough? I bought a set of elastic bands and they got broken after a couple of weeks. Thankfully they weren't expensive, but if that happened with the maxpro, which costs quite a lot, that would hurt.
Yes they are. The cables are made of bulletproof material that can last up to 1.5 years based on training 1 hour a day 5 times a week. The cables cost $40 USD to replace (that includes both as a pair). They take about 2 weeks to arrive. Hope this helps.
Not bad, but here's a question that you i guess nobody asked, what about negative resistance? so once you pull it out, does it pull you back? I heard that there's no negative resistance. That's a huge deal breaker as you are only getting half the workout. Imagine grabbing a dumbbell and lefting it, but on the way down it's light as a feather. Is this the case with this machine?
Yea I think you guys place way too much value on the eccentric phase. It's combination of years of hard work, diet, and training that is ultimately going to determine how well you will look in the long run. I mainly use The Max Pro with calisthenic movements and I have great body for my age (I also don't take steroids either). So I have realistic expectations of how much muscle I can gain naturally. Most people will only weigh 150lbs on stage after 10 years straight of lifting heavy weights at the gym. Not many people know this and when they figure this out. You can see why so many RU-vidrs jump on the riods and never come of them. Also. I have a better physique than most people who have expensive tonal gyms. Just shows you can build muscle with anything if you wanted to. Hope this helps.
Awesome product, BUT.. 9 months ago the high end connect version of Maxpro was only $549 bucks... Then months later they increased the price to $849 ?? Why a $300 increase ??? Why milk your customers dry ? When I asked I was told that was an intro price, but you mean to tell me that the product after introduction is worth $300 more ??? Think before you buy.. And why only a 1 year warranty ? If it breaks you are out $849 bucks.. No Thanks
