So I went back and played with the old Subhuman (unpatched PS4 version) and the problem wasn't the vocals. It was the shit audio mixing.

Y'know y'all are talking about what should be coming out as a full 3d version of an X game. Think about it, Dante's whole setup is utility, style, skill, and crunch. Wouldn't you much rather see a more lively and up beat x and zero taking on a fresh post-sigma reploids in a 3d reboot... than hoping for the z saber in a game that already mimics that saber?

Actually there was a news article about RE7 that said Capcom has no problems with games that don't sell well as long as they got good reviews.

Japanese videogames have been exploding over the last year or so. Persona 5 sold around 2 millions, and it is a niche of niches: RPG, anime, social sim... I'm pretty sure DMC5 will not only sell what Capcom is expecting, but blow their expectations out of the water.

Times has changed. DMC5 will easily surpass that. Basicaly now a lot of people buys based on third persons opinions/hype/etc so that will help.

That conflicts with a number of stories I've heard (personally) from people that work(ed) at Capcom but then again that mentality you're talking about could be the view(s) of modern Capcom where as all the stuff that was told to me was back between 2008-2012. Just for clarification I went to a Capcom event back in 2008, kept in touch with a couple people that worked there, saw them again at events like E3, but by 2012 everyone I knew who worked at/for the company no longer worked there, so I don't much about the current internal workings of the company.

Definitely not. Devil trigger was not that good at all and it has nothing on the tracks from DMC4 and DMC3. That said Subhuman is not a great song but I personally like it WAY better than devil trigger. It fits the game better or maybe I just like it because I like screamo ( even though it's not even good screamo ). In my opinion they should have left the entire soundtrack to Combichrist again.

I'm not saying the song is good, but that I just prefer it over Devil Trigger.

Devil Trigger compared to the other songs From DMC 1-4 IS SOOOOO out there in tone and atmosphere. I don't even feel like hell has attacked earth. Or if I'm even Playing DMC. I feel like I'm either playing Bayonetta or watching Rwby

+RaginDXDemon Well DMC has never really had the tone of desparate struggle against hell. The musics always been screamy and metal, but the games themselves are full of cheesy one liners and slapstick. Devil triggers different from the previous tracks sure, but I think it works in that its an actual cool piece of music that fits better into the fun tone of the DMC games. And bayonetta is known for its stellar music so thats not even really a bad thing.

Christian Bacalso well, neither does Dante. I remember some kinda sorta flirting in DMC 1. That HAS to make someone's head burst. There is this chick that constantly flirts with you, wich is the PERFECT COPY OF YOUR MOTHER. That is enough to put most guys in the room with the squishy walls.

(not directed at OP) What is it exactly that is bad about the vocals?.... Are you specifically upset with this singers performance of heavy vocals (screams, growls etc.) or are you against heavy vocals in general? Because that's the impression I get from Max as well, because the song on the other trailer has clean/melodic vocals, albeit still pretty metal ones. So you're anti heavy? Why? The game is demonically themed, it fits. A Hell themed video game is pretty much the only product that can get away with using metal (with vox), so why exactly is it out of place. I'll admit, he's not the best heavy vocalist, but he isn't terrible, not relative to the way Max is reacting. I'm actually kind of offended at his disgusted reaction without explanation of why he thinks the vocals are bad, as though he believes it to be common knowledge that screams and growls are just bad, period. When they are not.

As someone who collects Death and Black Metal CDs, I could not stand his performance. He comes from a band called Suicide Silence replacing the original vocalist after his death. Now, if you look at the like/dislike ratio on their song "Doris" you'll see that it was widely hated. There is also this metalhead drama basically putting people into two camps. I love Suicide Silence or I absolutely hate Suicide Silence. I am in the camp that hates them, but onto your points. It's a mix of people not generally liking unclean vocals mixed with the really bad performance of the guest vocalist. There are way better vocalists that Capcom could've chosen for this that I know would've gelled with people better. Just listen to Mark of the Necrogram by Necrophobic and you'll start to get a better picture as to a better vocalist that people would've liked better. I know it's anecdotal, but my mother who hates metal actually likes Necrophobic. So, all in all they did mess up with the song and I hope Capcom rerecords it with Shootie HG again or just a better vocalist. I would personally love to have Dante's music just be strait up Death Metal but having a DMC 3 styled soundtrack would also be great because that soundtrack is gold.

Because the other dmc’s Didn’t have death core horse shit. It was dark wave type electric sounding. But didn’t have screamo shit. Yeah it had growls occasionally, but it was deep growls and not high pitched squeels the whole song.

She was serious, never smiling, determined etc. Now look at her in DMC4. She is just overlay sexualised character with upbeat nature that flashes her boobs with each and every move. This is simply not the same character and no amount of experience can change her so drastically. It's just like taking Dante and making him annoying emo brat... oh wait, it happened...

Nehes It's call character growth. She hated demons, hated what her father became or who he always was. In 3 she was on the path to kill her father. After that, she found her calling as a demon hunter, and now have a life and purpose. Why on earth would she remain angsty after dealing with her issues? She wasn't smiling and was serious because of what happens in 3. After 3 she was able to move on ffs.
