Great video! I just subscribed ❤ I love my Greenstalks and my 15 raised beds! I grow lots of food in both 👍🏼 Thanks for the useful info. Also, where did you get those cute plant supports?
Hello great information on how to plant in the GreenStalk I just purchased my first one for the Mother’s Day sale. No have a question where did you get the suppers for the GreenStalk? I know they sell them but the ones you have are a great size
Very nice step by step small garden setup with your new Green Stalk tower system Wendi! I sure hope they offer your something for the fine advertising you have done for them with this video. Your tower fills that open space so very nicely and makes strewberry picking so enjoyable!! -Bob...
Thanks Bob! The height of those strawberrries is about where things can get legit full sun here. Sweet potatoes growing in fast I might lose my only walking path. 😅 How’s your garden challenges?
@@wendiland More challenging than is the weather pattern this summer is the presence of rodent type pests that are being dealt with. Plant growth has only recently taken a strong hold. Peppers are starting to ripen off. The midnight Thursday thunderstorm managed to knock over many onion tops. Tomato plants are finally up around the 6 foot height and climbing slowly. Some blushing of fruits is showing. Hopefully the weather settles down today without wind and hail again...
Have you tried just planting sprouted chits from the sweet potato itself? Also, aren't you incorporating your bokashi compost in your soil these days? I would think putting some in the bottom of the container would be good for the sweet potato slips.
There’s unrooted cuttings, rooted cuttings and slips from the tuber all in the GreenStalk. I would use bokashi compost, but I don’t always have homemade compost available.
Wow ! Your garden is amazing. Im a landscaper in south florida doing mostly non edible plantings. However, lately Im getting more requests for food in the garden. So I searched up sweet potatos and found your page. I must say you are an expert and I look forward to watching more of your videos. Thank you for sharing!
Does it note how many individual sweet potatoes you may harvest? It seems like there's not much space for full development. Just wondering, mine are in the ground right now
Perfect timing for you to post this. I had planned on getting the terra cotta leaf planter next year to match the original I got this year. I was looking for who to bless by using their code, and I smiled when I saw your video. Take care.
You should add dry wood ash it nature natural potash ! Potatoes crave pot ash. You’re not to late sweet potatoes really like the heat as long as you keep them watered ! I just put my second planting in on the first of August
This was super efficient. Wouldn't you use the top for a full sun plant? Or do you just want to use that first one for water only. Is it possible to use an automated rotation so you don't have to manually rotate. Still super kool thanks
Top is water reservoir that you don’t want to clog up. You can plant something, but will need to water all the tiers by hand if you did that. No automated rotation yet. 😅 They did solved the automated watering.
