The search for "The One" is a continuing struggle! Thanks, Jenny, not only for the great reviews, but for the tips on the best application for each one. Love your videos! Wishing you and your family a wonderful weekend. 🥰
Wow that Estee Larder looks beautiful I’m 66 the Nars matte works for me I have combo skin. Love it. I have the other one to. I have even mixed them I so enjoy your videos
Thank you so much Sandy! ❤️🤗❤️ I'm so glad to hear you like the NARS too! I was worried that it would feel too dry on my skin, but it really is a lovely formula. Have a wonderful weekend! ❤️
I hope Norm was able to find a driver!!😂I have been a full coverage foundation lover for most of my life, mainly to cover melasma. But since I found a more advanced skincare routine, I've been able to go for products with less coverage. I also feel like the older I get, the less makeup I want to wear. But we all have those occasions where we need a long lasting, full coverage look (like both my sons' weddings.) The Estee Lauder foundation caught my eye in this video, and you are such a wonderful makeup artist, you always look gorgeous!!!! 🥰❤ I hope you are having a wonderful fall, Jenny!!
Hi Patti! ❤️ I'm pretty sure Normie will have NO problems getting one of us to drive hime to the bone store tomorrow. He pretty much has us wrapped around his little paw. ☺️ As far as using lighter coverage foundations, that's my personal preference too, save for the special occasions! 🥰 You are always so very supportive! Thank you for always being such a bright spot in my week! ❤️😇❤️
@@robertanicholson3593 The best skincare products for my melasma at this point are from from dermatologist. Tretinoin, and a hydroquinone cream. I don't use the cream unless I have an active spot that needs dealing with, otherwise I am still with the Tretinoin. One thing I have learned is that heat can also make melasmas worse. I had a place on my face where I put my hand when I am lying on my side. I also use a very gentle exfoliating cleanser, and a lactic acid 10% serum (three times a week) from The Ordinary. My other skincare products are a normal hydrating serum, vitamin C, eye cream and a moisturizer (when I'm not using the hydroquinone cream.) I'm so sorry you have to deal with this issue. But you can really manage them with just a few products from the dermatologist!
Thanks Pat! ❤️ I live a life where I hope with all my heart that I find "the one" and also... secretly hope I don't, so I can keep looking forever... 😂❤️
My dollar general Believe foundation is as far as I can go with full coverage and I still can’t believe the price. It took me three tries to get the right match but at 5.50 for a one oz foundation, I’m not complaining. It’s just like one of my expensive smash box foundations I used to wear that is now discontinued. Loved the video! I’m one of those always looking for the perfect foundation!
yesssss!!! Love love LOVE the Believe Beauty!! ❤️❤️❤️ I keep hoping they might extend their reach internationally so I can sing their praises even more on my channel. It actually almost won my "Foundation of the Year" Award at last year's Foundation Lady awards, but I felt bad choosing one that only a small percentage of my viewers would have access to. Fingers crossed they offer it online soon!! 🤞🏻 Have a great weekend! 🌺💕☀️
You're so sweet Bryn! ❤️ I'm definitely getting to the point where I don't like it as much on my skin as I start to get more fine lines, but was afraid I hadn't covered enough maximum coverage options for my viewers who like the "full-FULL" coverage ones. I'll make sure to keep covering other coverage level options as well! 🤗 Hope you're having a great week lady! ☀️
Ok. I just broke the bank and ordered the estee one. I have never loved the regular double wear but I like to cover age spots and scars etc. Can more mature skin use?..50's?
Hi there! 🤗 Thanks so much for your questions! ❤️ I always encourage viewers to keep their receipts just in case a foundation doesn't work out for them, but with that said, I was surprised at how easy. and silky the Estée Lauder Maximum Coverage Foundation was. It didn't feel drying at all to me. As far as covering age spots, it was a definite yes when I used it! 🙂 In fact in the other video (the film star foundation) I can't remember if I mentioned that they actually used this to cover her tattoos! So this one definitely packs a big punch! As far as scarring goes... It will definitely cover any residual discoloration on your scar, but as with any foundation, it can't hide texture of course. As far as fine lines go, I thought it did a nice job of not "sinking in" to them, but again, I believe the key is very light layers. I would LOVE to hear what you think of this once you've had a chance to try it! ❤️ Thank you so much for trusting me to answer your questions! 🤗 I apologize for taking so long to get back, we had a death in the family, and I've been taking some time off. I hope you have a wonderful day, and please let me know what you think of your new foundation! ❤️
_Creepy confessions #27: u give great recommendations & advice. But I love ur channel bc I enjoy watching foundation applications. It’s so satisfying! We get to watch the foundation being applied, blended & melt into ur skin. Kinda weird right? Eh. I likey!_ 🤭😅👍❤️🥳
😂 LOL!! Thank you for absolutely MAKING MY DAY with your comment!!! (and I don't think it's weird or creepy at all! But I love how you wrote your comment as a "confession" 🤣...hilarious! ) 🥰 I love watching foundation application videos too! I think they're so relaxing. I hope you have a fantastic weekend lovely, Suzy! 🤗❤️
I’d like to also suggest too faced born this way soft matte foundation for someone who has textured combo over 60+ skin. For me it looks better than nars soft matte, though just a few years ago the nars matte was my absolute favorite! Thank you I might try the Estée Lauder, it looks beautiful on you and sounds luxurious.
Thank you so much for the Too Faced BTW suggestion! ❤️ I really appreciate it. 🥰 I remember trying a little sample when it first came out, but for some reason, it slipped my mind since that day (several years ago! 😆) I'll definitely need to go back and revisit it! I hope you have a fantastic weekend! 🌺☀️💕
I have a very pink/red color to my face like you. I don't like foundations with yellow tone, it looks unnatural to me since my sink is pink. What tone do you suggest to soften the pink and look natural?
That is a GREAT question! I agree with you about the whole "not using yellow" to counteract redness! That was such a popular method in the 90's early 2000's and I'm glad it's starting to not be suggested as much, because I always found it to look very unnatural! Unless we put the foundation ALL the way down our neck and chest, you can see a clear difference between the neck and face color! There are a few options to counteract redness though, depending on the severity. COVERGIRL makes a very light (green tones) Serum, Moisturizer Primer... if you have and extremely light pink tone to your skin, it can help give just a "touch" of green to counteract the red. (It doesn't look green on the skin when you blend in!) It is a VERY subtle option. If there is more intense redness, it Cosmetics makes a redness neutralizing color-correcting cream, that is highly rated, although I personally have not tried it yet. I have heard that it does a good job of correcting (or covering) redness, but it is a little thicker. For me personally, I find as long as a foundation has medium to full coverage, that's enough for me to be able to cover the redness. I like a good neutral (or even slightly olive , because of the green) undertone to counteract the redness in my skin. Thanks so much for your comment! ❤️ I hope this helps! 🤗
Thanks Jess! 🤗 I haven't tried the RMS yet, and I would LOVE to try the Kevyn Auction... I've looked at it SO many times online. I've heard nothing but good things about it! Thanks so much for sharing your favorites with me! ❤️
Just found you while looking for full coverage foundation for my combination skin with rosacea and acne scars. Any recommendations on primer setting spray and powder? I'm 52. I'm overwhelmed. Thank you Lisa Thank you
Hi Lisa! Thanks so much for your comment! 🤗❤️ From what you've told me, I would definitely try to stick with something that doesn't have a fragrance to avoid possible irritation. There are lots of wonderful options, but I'd love to start off suggesting two in particular to you. First would be the ZuZU Luxe Dual powder foundation. I like the ingredients, and I LOVE how it looks on the skin, I have a review if you'd like to see it. Link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-c2ANdbhlmTc.htmlsi=cgaYl0oWetAPpC9u (I like to use the Catrice Dewy setting spray afterward to melt the powder into the skin... it's a dream combo! 🥰 Second would be good ol' Revlon ColorStay Foundation (The OILY skin version in particular!) I like the shade options, price, incredible coverage, and I find that it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. I like to start out using the NYX HydraTouch primer ( you can just use on dry areas if you like) apply the ColorStay with a damp beauty blender, and then I really like using the Clinique (loose) blended face powder. I like to use a small brush and really press it into the pores. (I found a shade I really like in that formula, and I love that it's allergy tested, hypo allergenic, and fragrance free. ) Review on ColorStay: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-otG-zKXddpI.htmlsi=a-Ai4EmN-7gWqI4d Review on the CLINIQUE Powder: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AFgXeCp8vdY.htmlsi=1HCD7-cStzi0XPms Sometimes I avoid setting sprays, especially if I'm feeling that my skin is particularly broken out, or irritated. but when I do use one to help with longevity, I find that the Milani setting spray works as well as just as great as any of the other (more expensive) versions! I hope this helps! ❤️ have a great weekend! 🤗
I find as I age that many full coverage foundations break apart on my skin and look blotchy and cakey. I find that I prefer to go sheer, and use concealer. I cannot do matte any more. I may dust some powder on if a formula is very dewy. But one cannot argue that the amazing even tone you get doesn’t look great. That doll like perfection looks lovely when you first apply it. I’ve not gotten into setting sprays and don’t know if they’d help.
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with me! ❤️ I've noticed (within the last 5 years esp.) that it's getting harder to pull off super full coverage, or completely matte foundations too... I love that you use sheer formulas and then add concealer! That's a great way to go! 😍 What are some of your favorite sheer foundations, if you don't mind me asking? 🤗
What shade of the Joe Blasco Ultrabase Foundation do you wear? And any insider information on where to get it? Seems to be sold out everywhere in my shade. Or what I think my shade would be. Natural beige 1 maybe!?
Hi Traci! 🙂 I wear shade Natural Beige 1... it's slightly deep for my skin so I have to be careful about taking it down my neck, but with self tanner, it's pretty spot on. (and if it helps to have a "reference shade list" you can look in my description box of any video, and toward the bottom I have a list of foundations that match my skin best... to help compare where you may fit on the shade spectrum.❤️). You are so right that it is very hard to find the shade Natural Beige 1 right now! I was so surprised, because I usually don't have any trouble finding it, but it seems to be sold out right now. I usually recommend Camera Ready Cosmetics (as I've always heard good things about them.) I purchased mine on Amazon, sort of on a whim, I usually don't buy foundations on Amazon if I can get them from the actual company. I looked on Amazon just now though, and the prices for the Joe Blasco have definitely shot up since I bought it! However, after doing a little online sluething, I think I may have found it! If you go to Nigelcosmetics.com they have shade Natural Beige 1, and it costs $30.00 US. (the also have free shipping over $25.00.) I hope this helps! 🤗 And if you end up trying it out, I'd love to hear what you think of it! ❤️ Have a great day!
I recently re fell in love with L'oreal Infallible Fresh Wear foundation. It cost only $19 CAD on sale I purchased it last wknd & worn it all wk since 😃
YESSS! 🙌🏻 I'm so happy for you! ☺️ Isn't it so wonderful to rekindle an old foundation flame?! 🥰 I just love L'Oreal! I probably say it too much on my channel, but I can't help it...They make some of the BEST foundations (high-end and drugstore included!) Have a great weekend Jenn! 🤗
@@foundationlady Yes. I bought another shade different from the one I used 4 yrs back. So I'm finding it even better than before as this one's perfect.
Cannot buy the Estée Lauder maximum full coverage in Canada! I have used but the shades are different than their regular foundation and can’t find a good match.
Really??! 😔 Oh I'm so sorry my Canadian friend! ❤️ That's so frustrating when the shades are different and you aren't able to try it on first! It's definitely not one of their biggest sellers...although personally I think it could be if they offered more shades and marketed it a bit more! Thanks so much for the heads up that it's not available up north! I'm so sorry about that. ❤️
The Maybelline is definitely the "driest" of the 4! The Joe Blasco feels really nice on the skin though. I don't blame you for not wearing them though, it's only on rarest of occasions that I would wear foundation that is "fuller-than-full-coverage. " ❤️❤️❤️ Have a great weekend lady! 🤗
Ooooh! I love that one Maria! ❤ (I can't remember if I had tried that one before I made this video?) But it's definitely a winner! 🥰 Thanks so much for your comment, and have a great day!! 🤗
I tried the Joe Blasco foundation. Built in layers like you said. I found it HORRIBLE. It went majorly cakey sank into lines. Most hideous thing ever. Gutted
Oh no! 🫢 I’m so sorry to hear that! ❤️ I didn’t have that experience at all with it, but I am so very sorry to hear that it didn’t work for you! ❤️Do you mind if I try to help troubleshoot? Would you mind if I ask what you had underneath the foundation (i.e how many layers of moisturizer serum, sunscreen, primer, etc? I might be able to help find the right combo and/or see if there was a primer ingredient that may have been working “against” the ingredients in the foundation. Sometimes it can be a little tweak that makes all the difference. If you haven’t gotten rid of it yet, I’d love to try to help, but if you’re just not interested in giving it another shot, I completely understand that too! ❤️😥❤️
@@foundationlady Please do! I've tried it with no primer or moisturiser. Just moisturiser half an hour prior, milk hydrogrip primer, hourglass vanish primer, hourglass veil primer, Tom Ford radiance primer. All yielded the same results. I have tried sponge and brush application. Both in very thin layers and in thicker layers. Any suggestions welcome
@@twoleftfeet9626 thank you so much for allowing me the chance to do a little research on it for you! ❤️ I feel just terrible that something I recommended so highly, didn’t work out for you. 😩 My subs are so very dear to me, and I want to do all I can to see if I can make it work! I am out of state (we are currently looking for a new home, and will be moving soon! 🙏🏻) But I have a little break in our house hunt tomorrow afternoon, so I will do a bit of research then and see if there’s something I can figure out! ❤️❤️❤️ Have a great night, and I’ll talk to you soon! 🤗
@@twoleftfeet9626 I have not forgotten you my friend! We just got back into town, and I’m testing out my foundation/primers for you, so I can see if we can make it work! ❤️
