Living in a vault must feel like paradise after trudging the wasteland. Season 1 Episode 6 of the Fallout TV show Song: June Christy - Give Me the Simple Life
Mans earliest memory is the trauma of having his birth home nuked. Raised in a religious military organization. Always sleeping in some dirty barrack with 20 other boys. Eating the same easy to produce meals as everyone else and drinking radiated water from barrels. Man really felt the simple life for one afternoon and gave it up to save Lucy. 😔
Maximus is experience what we are living in now, but its a trap to keep you from your goal and purpose. Luckily, maximus and lucy are willing to look outside of the cave
@@BOBBIEVALINTINE I don't know but isn't Brotherhood at least advanced enough to have at least chemical latrines or basic toilet plumbing? Though they do have tire piles used as toilets in the show, but probably some barracks stuff.
And they were actually the nicest vault still around in the fallout verse. No hidden agenda, accepts everyone regardless of religion, incredibly nice and charitably generous.
All Vaults hide something. That’s the problem. The saved small piece of humanity from the nuclear apocalypse, but the Illuminati/Deep State got their hands on Vault Tech to experiment on people.
@theanonymouschicken169 Tell me about it. The worst possible thing they will do to you is banish you from the Vault, and even then they will send you off with 2 weeks of supplies. The Vault 4 residents are really something else.
Considering Maximus has basically fought all his life just to scrape by like everyone else in The wasteland and suddenly he finds himself being able to access clean water, clean food AND clean clothes? It’s no wonder he got a bit intoxicated by it
@armydillo1013 200 years after the war, radiation is limited to active sources and top soil residuals. If you assume they get water from underground aquifers, clay and soil filter radioactive particulates before it reaches the aquifer, then oysters just filter out microorganisms and you can use simple strainers to remove sediment.
@@flakzuludeusex2365 He's not really an idiot though, I think he's INT 4 officially. He actually handles himself pretty well several times; he's just way out of touch from growing up in the Brotherhood's cult.
his character is basically a reverse of lucy's. oblivious to the "peaceful" life of a vault as she is on the wasteland. love this guy sm i hope be gets a happy ensing and a peaceful life
I love how he almost looks offended while asking what caviar is. Such an odd acting choice and it made laugh. Like it’s so good he thinks it’s a trick.
@@Roddy556 Some credit card give you points that you can use for some luxurious stuff like first class airplane tickets or free five star hotel reservation.
Humans always adapt to the current situation. Throw a person born into poverty into luxury, and they'll be in awe for the first few weeks/months, but after a while they will start taking it for granted too.
@@TheButterMinecart1 damn that hurts bro, mostly because it's accurate. Been living in a third world country my whole life and just got to live in a first world country for 2 months and I kinda take things for granted! Throwing away bread corners and everything
@@bappojujubes981as a child, I lived in a village, and the leftovers were fed to animals: dry bread, bones, veins, it doesn't matter. After moving to the city, it was strange to throw it all in the trash. It was as if I was throwing away something important and necessary 😭
@TheButterMinecart1 sorry but I've been in this house all my life and I still marvel at the fact that there's running water and electricity, when I really think about it I start to feel like a king in his castle.
What I find really funny is that the vault they were in were not evil at all. I thought they would do something horrible to them but they just let them go.
It's one of the biggest oddities in Fallout Lore. We're so conditioned to believe that every vault is either mass graveyard or have some horrific cult-like experiment... that we simply can't comprehend the possibility of a normal vault with kind residents.
@@lightning35because every vault ever designed by vault tec had some sort of unethical experiment, the only good vaults are the ones who cut contact with vault tec or had their overseers refuse their orders
@@Grim-kf5ogthere were also control vaults and vaults designed to have innocuous experiments due to being catered primarily to rich and powerful people
I was so excited to see actual sets, detailed props, great costume design and practical effects. not just crappy cgi. The team working on this should be so proud they really outdid themselves
I loved this bit, how completely the guy's world is rocked. He hasn't had a single comfortable thing in his life for twenty years, so one hot shower and some decent food is like a religious experience. This could have been just an amusing little moment and they made it something much more affecting.
@@chengkuoklee5734 Well, Marcus and Lily does exist Wonder will we see our mutant grandma in S2......and didn't went crazy because of the Nightkin schizophrenia
In the welcome basket, you can actually see a bunch of food items avaliable in game: Blamco Mac and Cheese, YumYum Devilled Eggs, Fancy Lad Snacks, Cram and probably a few others. The details in this show are amazing
I like his character the best. Very polite, very innocent, very sweet for a surface dweller. At first, I thought he had some hidden dark personality, especially after the blade incident, only to find out in the end that it wasn't him who did it.
Can you blame him for enjoying the Vault life? Clean water and fresh food. Simple life. Any normal person who’s been living in the Wasteland relying on food that is dirty and radioactive would like a simple life like that.
It’s cause it’s a repurposed vault with an actual good defense shield(being under an abandoned hospital). Most of the residents were surface dwellers. It’s quite literally a hotel you can work and live at.
@@danatedawg1018 Kinda like Vault 22, another Vault where the experiment(every dweller are gambling addicts and every critical decision is voted through gambling) was expected to fail, but since everyone had maxed in Luck, lasted for the whole 200 years until Mr House found and evicted them, and now runs it as a hotel. Pretty nice place, and nice receptionist too
The attention to detail in this is just mind blowing. I've played Fallout 3 and 4 for years and it so feels like a live production of the games. People in Hollywood need to take note. This is how it should be done.
By the end I just want Maximus to get what he deserves, chilling in an Old World safe haven, enjoying Vault luxury free from the dangers of Wasteland, maybe enjoying life with a companion or two, like how I did in the Penthouse in the Lucky 38 except not smelling like Old People
Meanwhile In Washington a certain Lone Wonder is just trying to stay alive and hopefully is still kicking ass but you can't help but wonder honestly what drives wastelander's determination to survive in such a cruel and unforgiving world.
The suits here all look so good, like the brotherhood suit and the vault suit sont look goofy or cosplay-like, they look like clothing these people would wear
I imagine the vault is getting the caviar from one of the mutated fish they keep in the basement. Otherwise how are they are getting fresh caviar 200+ years after the war.
@@twomadanonymouse5560 Do you realize how much space the stockpiles needed by a couple of 100s people for 200 years will require? That's like multiple Amazon fulfillment centers.
So. Lucy who live a happy life and learn the harsh reality in wasteland. Maximus who grew in the wasteland and for a moment enjoys the vault life And Howard who have been in both.
This is a series where I would porbably read every single side-book if they wrote them and somehow translated the vibe. And I think Maximus will be a slow-burn character. Eventually he'll stop running from his true self, and he'll be a real hero by then.
Maximus leaving Vault 4 was the saddest moment of the season for me. I really hope hegrows to be an important player in the grander scheme of things on the surface, otherwise this wound will never truly heal
There is a group of us doing the vault life... already This show speaks so much about what could happen and is happening, it's ironic. The writers have to know.
0:34 built like a wasteland adonis. If he were to behave like a raider, he'd just rip apart a vault full of softies with just a pistol and crowbar. Yet he tries so hard to be a knight in a very terrible world.
Too much fat, he would realistically be much more cut, that does not guarante larger muscles, and he might even have smaller ones realistically, but the fat he has would not exist, for there is no food to give it to him.
@@MarilynMalkovich hard to grow bread and other plants, means it would be from animals, which all are irradiated, and have no fat themselves, meaning he is mostly eating meat from those animals, meaning he would be cut and way leaner
@@RisingFlag100men in an Apocalyptic setting would definitely be skinny for the most part. Specially ectomorphs due to how much food they need just to grow muscle. People really underestimate how important food is for muscle right? Haha
I was having a hard time identifying with Maximus. I appreciated this segment that gave a little humor and lightness to his character. With a name like his, I wonder about a Legion connection.
There's no Legion to Maximus. He was born and lived in Shady Sands during early childhood, and after it was bombed he was taken and trained by the Brotherhood of Steel
I really They Develop Maximus and The Ghoul more in the Second Season Maximus has development but it felt very little The Ghoul never really had development he was the guy throughout the season(except when he was still cooper howard) But Maximus is my favorite protagonist out of the three and I don't know why this season is mostly focused on lucy but i hope in the season they focus it on Maximus and Thr Ghoul More I hope they turn Maximus into a Rebel Badass and Meet up with Thaddeus again cuz i really like they're moments especially when he was acting goofy in the power armor
"what is this ?" "sir sit down for a moment. i have got terrible news. it may come as a shock. THIS, this is nuclear war, our survival changes are slim. the ground xan be irridiated for ten thousands years before the radiation is not lethal around us. we need to stick together. this is all wich is left. there is nothing less." "......" "..i ment the paste.." "oh, just shoe polish,". lol rofl :-)
They either have achieved some sort of synthetic caviar, or/and it is something ultra rare meant only for veery specific moments: weddings, a congratulation to new parents, a newcomer in the vault, etc.
