Maxine Brown, wherever you are, I just want to thank you for this wonderful gift. I can’t calculate the hours I’ve spent listening to this song. Sometimes I’ll play the CD while I’m driving, and I just hit repeat over and over. Sometimes I’ll be up late at night and decide to listen to it over and over. It mesmerizes me. I love it so much. ❤
I rememeber sitting at the Apollo all day watching each show (in those days they did not put you out. They showed a movie, a comedian then the musical event several time a day.) Maxine Brown changed her gown for each performance. I thought she was so glamorous.
I was 10 when she performed this song. I remember the song when I was a kid. What a talented lady. This is how you sing and performed. She deserves all the accolades .
I was brought up listening to my eldest brothers records and this was one 8n them. Stayed in my psyche for 55 years and THIS is my 1st time I hear her LIVERPOOL! !!! Maxine and her band were all tight and no one skipped a beat. Utter synchronicity AND STILL SHE LIVERPOOL. Bless you iconic woman. 💜💜
I first heard Maxine Brown on some compilation of music from the sixties. I was instantly hooked, That voice, the voicing, so expressive. To see her perform now, I feel privileged. Thank you for those who held on and shared these tapes.

You do know she's wearing a wig don't you? The Ronettes were probably the only Black American female singers in the early through mid 1960's who didn't wear wigs or hair pieces on stage.

Holy Sh*t this is wonderful, I love her always, , stumbled on this, she sounds great and looks fantastic, that band are great, they' have a Young/Holt Unlimted vibe about them. So i suppose this is what you get when truly great songwriters come up with a great song and get a truly great singer to sing it with great musicians to back her.
Thank you for this treasure! Great sound and film quality. I was in 3rd or 4th grade when this came out and I remember singing along when this was played on the radio.
I was so blessed to be able to attend a Maxine Brown show at Mr. Kelly's in Chicago Ill. in 1968-1969, while going to college , and she was the best then and still can sing so sweetly, last seen at a Jerry Blavat concert at the Kimmel Center here in Philly a few years ago. I loved see Val Shively of R.& B. Records in Upper Darbyat the show as I know they are friends.
