Get the MaxxFan Deluxe here: amzn.to/2xys4VP
In this video I cover the MaxxFan Deluxe installation for my ProMaster. We needed one of these to suck Winnie's farts right out of the van! Just a note, I bought the roof vent adapter that Hein from DIYVan sells, but realized that I didn’t need it for the spot I was going to install the vent. If you are going to install your vent towards the back of the van, I highly recommend purchasing that adapter so you get a nice flush mount. This is the adapter: www.ebay.com/itm/Promaster-Ro...
Once you get over the fact that you’re cutting a hole in your new van, this project is EZ PZ. All the materials I used are listed below.
The next project I’ll be tackling is installing a CR Laurence window in the passenger sliding door. I will be trying to post a new video every Sunday, so stay tuned. Yewwwwwwwww!

Any tips on making this fan silent while driving?
@carmenmariacortesmarin2664
@carmenmariacortesmarin2664 3 года назад
Why didn't you install first the black rubber that comes with it and that you use as a template? Just would like to know.
@kevinludlowdotcom
@kevinludlowdotcom 3 года назад
@@carmenmariacortesmarin2664 Yea, I couldn't figure that out either. The rubber thing doesn't actually come with the fan either. It's sold separately as it's made by some guy who is still working on distributing it (I bought mine off of eBay). I haven't installed the fan yet and the black component is supposed to be affixed to the metal using a 3M Window adhesive and then the flange of the fan set on top of it. So I'm just curious why he purchased and used that piece, but then didn't install it.
@kevinludlowdotcom
@kevinludlowdotcom 3 года назад
@@carmenmariacortesmarin2664 Ahh - I actually figured it out, Carmen. It's because he installed the MaxFan in the front of the van (near the driver's cab). The cutout that exists is specifically meant to fit in the back of it (or basically any place that's not where the standard A/C cutout is). So it probably doesn't fit properly on that one section. That's my guess.

Funny story... I’ve watched this video a few times in preparation of installing my fan. Thanks!. While putting up the wood framing, I dropped a piece. Without realizing it, I instinctively let out a yelp mimicking yours. Thanks again!

Excellent presentation! Question... Do have a rack system / crossbar recommendation ? Would the front crossbar hinder the position of the MaxxFan? Thank you, Bob

Hi. Great video. Just curious.. Why is it not necessary to add the lap sealant around the screws that hold the fan to its frame?

I do love the detail on your videos. I have one question if you go to 8:16 on your video when you're screwing in the side panels where the fan meets the bracket that you installed into the roof there seems to be a huge gap Between the bracket and the fan just below the screw you're screwing in does that need to be sealed up so water doesn't get in?
@JasonKlunk
@JasonKlunk 4 года назад
No, if you look at 2:09 there is a gasket that seals that area when you drop the fan in.

I didn't see you installing the shim visible at minute 0:59 of the video, you used it as a template for the 14" x 14" hole to be cut. If I may suggest, I would pierce each screw hole with a nail for example, to prevent the screws to twist the putty tape while drilling them, so the tape will stay in place where you put it.
@JasonKlunk

I didn't use it, I noted that in the description.

@cherylasmith3492
@cherylasmith3492 Год назад
Great video! I was curious why you chose to put it so close to the front? My fear is that my van will get hot in the back mostly and need hot air sucked up and out. Also, do they make these that are battery operated?
@JasonKlunk
@JasonKlunk Год назад
Thanks. I put it over my cooking area so I can pull out that heat quickly.

Indeed, awesome video. Very helpful! Just kinda curious tho why you chose a MaxxFan over a Fantastic Fan. I've heard that one or the other for instance is a bit noisier than the other, but now have forgotten which was which. Would you please comment, Jason. Thanks!
@JasonKlunk
@JasonKlunk 4 года назад
I have friends who have the fantastic fan and they said it's a little noisy when you're driving. So I went with this model hoping it would be a little quieter, I also like that I can use this in the rain.
