I'm in a book stand-still with Trials of Apollo right now. It's so good, and I can't possibly wait a whole year for the next one, so I'm going so slow with it!
Oh A Court Of Mist and Fury.... The massively epic and fantastic novel that is now my favorite book in several years. I devoured it in a day but it's so ridiculously amazing that I bought the audiobook too and am slowly savoring it again. It's just so so so good! I need book 3.... Like... Now.
7-8 ish. ToA has spoilers for HoO pretty early on and they are for the very end of the books. They dont give away the entire series, but the details they give away are important to what happens in the end of HoO
we're on the same page as acomaf ugh do i actually need to read HOO first i've been putting those off for years XD ahh i cannot wait to read the rose and the dagger! notable shadowhunters is so great :))
I say goals be darned! If you want to take 2 weeks reading a book you absolutely love (btw I can't wait to read that one!!) then do it! When we're reading books we love that give us joy, we shouldn't put pressure on ourselves to rush through the process :)
10! I've read it, and it spoils EVERYTHING! (Well, I've already HoO, so I knew what happened.) Honestly, though, you could probably skim through The Mark of Athena, since nothing REALLY important happened to the plot until the end, but you have to read the end. But, I know that you would probably would never do that, so... 😅
I would recommend reading The Hidden Oracle after HoO, since it spoils ships, the outcome of certain characters, the main event that happens in HoO, who dies and doesn't die. 10/10. I would recommend also reading Sword of Summer before/after (doesn't matter) because of a certain person mentioned that just gives feels!!
10 at 10 the heroes of Olympus have a lot of cliffhangers and a lot of twisted events that is important later on. This events in the heroes of Olympus of would cause a lot of development of percy , annabeth, specially Leo who would be involved in this new book series, and other main characters that could have a part of this new book series. I really recommended to go listen the other 4 books in audio book because it faster to finish and you would have time to read the trails of Apollo.
I definitely have that problem sometimes, too. There's also the problem of not reading a particular book you're excited about because you want to "save it".
It look me over a month to read the first half and then I finished the second half in two nights because I had to know! The way it tugged at my feels killed me. I was reading through tears.
I UNDERSTAND YOUR STANDSTILL COMPLETELY! I just finished reading deathly hallows for the first time and I desperately wanted to stretch it out so I wouldn't run out of Harry Potter but I eventually gave in and finished it all in one sitting lol😁 by the way you should start another Harry Potter book soon because I really want to hear your feelings on the next couple BECAUSE THEY ARE SO FREAKING GOOD!
I feel you!! I read ACOMAF in a day and I literally started panicking because I know I have to wait a year for the next one. I'm still in denial so I keep rereading my favorite scenes
I understand that feeling you are talking about at the beginning. Sometimes I will open a book and get so excited that I close it again and I don't want to read it because then the first impression will be out the door. Then sometimes I will be on the last chapter and close it because I don't want it to end.
I'd say an 8.5 on the spoiling for the Trials of Apollo - the plot of the book itself is based on what happened at the end of the Heroes of Olympus and the end of the book would completely confuse/spoil you. (It'd be like reading Lady Midnight without TID or part of TMI)

I've been there too, with glass sword, and what I recommend is to finish reading it, enjoy it, and then take that week to try to process your feelings off the book
I know it'll be difficult but if you read The Trials of Apollo first, you'll be spoiled on a lot of good stuff from HOO. I would rate it a 5-7 on spoilery content.
I have the biggest book hangover from A Court of Mist and Fury. It's my favorite book that I've ever read. I can't stop thinking about it. I can't believe I have to wait a year until the final book.
10/10 you will be spoiled for Heroes of Olympus :/ the whole premise of this book comes from the end of HoO and it blatantly talks about all of the big plot points throughout that series (I finished it today). Sorry Sasha!!
The way you are reading Court of Mist and Fury is the way that I read The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender. I loved that book and didn't want it to end!!!
A Court of Mist and Fury is my FAVORITE book so far this year and Sarah J. Maas has become my favorite author. I tried to make it last, but I gobbled it up and it gave me a hell of a book hangover.
schnestel I know how you feel - I loved ACOTAR I thought it was a good book, It wasn't Throne of Glass but it was still an awesome read, but after ACOMAF I am struggling to decide if Throne of Glass is my favourite because oh my days ACOMAF was just TOO good.
I think Regan would understand if you had to push the liveshow back a bit. It's your reading experience and you shouldn't have to rush or skip books! And yeah, you are going to be spoiled to a 10 if you read Trials of Apollo first.
ACOMAF exceeded any expectations I may have had. Oh my god, it was amazing but I still didn't want it to end. I'm in an existential crisis. I need the next book NOW. 😭
I felt the same way about Queen of Shadows! I wanted to take my time reading it but at the same time I wanted to finish it before I was spoiled! I read it in a few days and I've been waiting patiently for the next! :)
Of 1 to 10.... like 100. Ok maybe I'm exagerating but you need to read The Heroes of Olympus first! Trust me once you get into it you'll not be able to stop so I think you have time.
I feel you! I was sooo happy when I received a Court of Mist and Fury in the mail. I haven't read it yet but that's only because I wanted to wait until Finals were over and I could sit back and truly enjoy it!
Out of 10, I'd say 9. You could read Trails of Apollo and understand the story (Rick is good with catching readers up) but it might ruin some characters and story elements when you go back to read Heroes of Olympus. So much happens over the course of the HoO series that you'd be doing yourself a great injustice by jumping ahead.
when i find a new youtuber that i really like i usually binge watch they're videos till ive seen at least like 80% of their videos. i have to say this is the weirdest experience on youtube for me binge watching all your videos. it feels like time and order actually matters in this channel, unlike anyother othere channel i follow. i feel confused often, but i have to say im really enjoying you content and it helps get inspired to read more:)
You cant read Trials of Apollo because there are spoilers for Heroes of Olympus. You know what Apollo did because it is covered in heroes of olympus. 90% spoils
10/10. It is mandatory to read them in order. The 2nd series is why Apollo turn mortal. You wont understand the newer characters and a certain thing that made me fangirl so much, I cried, like omg. Also Kane Chronicles is VERY good. There is a short story series as a crossover of KC and PJO
You will get HUGE spoilers for heroes of olympus - like gigantic spoilers.. At least after my opinion but I can see why its necesarry for you to read toa now 😊
I totally totally relate too your book standstill. It happens to me when I know a book is the last book in a series and I love the series so I don't want it to end.

I am the same as you! I remember when I first read Heir of Fire I was dragging it along for who knows how long and not reading anything else. But I do have very fond memories of that time...you know, because I really savored it if that makes any sense.
I was having the same problem with acomaf! But once I got halfway I just couldn't stop reading at all. It is so freaking beautiful and it literally made me cry from HAPPINESS. ❤❤❤
Sasha, I seriously know the feeling of being on a book stand still! I'm reading Glass Sword and I know I can just read it in like one sitting but then I want to savor the book! OH THE AGONY! +Heather Forever Books I felt the exact same way..ACOMAF has constantly been on my mind and I went back and read my favorite parts twice now. I can't even think about picking up something else yet.
omg I'm so happy to know that I'm not the only one who spent that long reading and savoring ACOMAF!!! My friend was getting after me for taking so long reading it because I have a really long TBR and I was trying to explain to her why I was taking so long but couldn't quite explain it so I'll just show her your video!
We are literally going through the same thing!! I have been so excited for a court of mist and fury but I refuse to finish it because I don't want it to end.
The only solution I have found is reading the book at a pleasant pace then ordering the audiobook to listen to (nearly constantly). It can be costly but it feels so good
Happened to me too. I preordered Winter and was so excited, but it took me about six months to finish. I just didn't want it to end and when it did, I was so bitter.
Totally feel you about this "I wanna finish this book, but I don't wanna finish it!" thing. Went through it with Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber. Lots of love from Greece!!!

As soon as you started talking about it, I knew what book you were talking about right away! I'm doing the same thing with ACOMAF because I'm trying to savor it too
