Ooh a contemporary retelling of P&P ... My favorite retellings are not contemporary but I've definitely read some that I enjoyed. There's one called First Impressions by Debra White Smith you might like. And Mary Anne Hathaway has a whole series called Jane Austen Takes the South, with adaptations of Austen's novels. My favorite is the Emma one, but the P&P one is good. And Syrie James has written some dual timeline books that feature Austen and her works that I've enjoyed. One is The Missing Manuscript of Jane Austen.

Calor is on my tbr! This was a good reminder that I need to read it! 😄

I'd remember reading Johnny Tremain in school and really enjoyed it! I'll have to revist again! Maybe I will listen to the audiobook! 😄

I take direction poorly, so I shall recommend to you a "Pride and Prejudice" SEQUEL. 😁 It's "Perception", by Terri Fleming, and it is a lovely and heart-warming story of what happens to Kitty and Mary once their sisters are married. I enjoyed it so much that I...bought it in hardcover. And then bought another copy for my mother. 🥰 Thank you for the video.

Great wrap-up, Alma!! I can't wait to read Calor!! I'm currently reading Carver of Souls (second in a duology) by that author and am ADORING it!!! I loved the first book as well. Heart of Red, Blood of Blue is also so good! Mistborn is amaaaazing!!! Looking forward to starting the Timeless series. Pride and Prejudice was one of the first classics I read and I did struggle at the time, but now I can't stop reading them!!

Everyone talks about Mistborn! I really need to read that one too!

The only book I’ve read is Pride and Prejudice and that was years ago… I recently finished the first book in the timeless series and I liked it enough to continue the series 🎉

Excellent wrap-up, Alma! I have yet to read Pride and Prejudice. *gasp* I know! But I have read Persuasion and loved it. Mistborn is on my eventual tbr, along with Heart of Red. However, The Maid is on my priority tbr. I'm thrilled to see more autistic women and girls, representing a more accurate view of the breadth of the spectrum, appearing in more recent releases. My favorite reads in May were For a Lifetime, The Birthday Girl by Jean Little, and Light of the Last by Chuck Black (book three in the Wars if the Realm trilogy.) Ok, moment of truth. No right answer. You can only take one Timeless book with you to the deserted island. Which one are you going to choose?

As far as under the banner of heaven- Dan is still alive and in prison here- still no remorse. Ron died a few years ago but of natural causes. I’m so glad you enjoyed the book. I think it was so well done. And yes, I didn’t understand that God didn’t sanction polygamy until I was leaving the Mormon church. The lds scriptures make it clear that the belief is that God told people to be polygamists in the Bible as well- in fact the pearl of great price is revised (added) scripture that Joseph wrote that had those things in it. I enjoyed hearing your thoughts and am looking forward to hearing what you say about the show.
