I really enjoyed the Sundin book. I have the next 2 in the series, but I just don't know when I will get to it!! Thank you for doing the buddy read with us!!
Oh. I loved the book Night. Very difficult to read though. I was special education teacher in a sixth grade classroom, and the teacher read that book aloud to the class, I think it made a great impacton the students.
I bet that made for a lot of conversation in that class. I want to read the other two books that follow it. Dawn and Day are the other two. Have you read those?
The Well of Ascension! I finished in time to join the discussion on Tiffany’s channel. I finished The Final Empire, put up a video on my channel discussing it with my nephew, then went right into book two! I’m waiting a bit before starting book three.
Great video! Another book set in WWII that you might enjoy but it’s definitely lighter than most you read last month) is The Wedding Dress Sewing Circle by Jennifer Ryan. I really enjoyed it when I read it in January.
My library has a sale the last Saturday of every month and they give you a canvas bag (to keep) and whatever you can fit into it is only a dollar, hard backs, paperbacks, big books or small. And you can fill as many bags as you want. Last time I got 8 books in one bag and 11 in another bag so I got 19 books for two dollars!
Oh my goodness that sounds amazing!!! I would go crazy with that. My library did something similar last year fill a bag for $5 I think. They haven't done it again this year.
You are going to Love the Black Hills! I'm from South Dakota and my Grandparents lived near the hills so we went every summer. There is sooo much to see there and it is breath taking. Before you go map out what you want to see. Have fun! I wish I was going.
How fun that you are working on five challenges! I only have two year long challenges but for the summer I have two more I’m working on. Frankly, I’m a little overwhelmed with the specific prompts. I decided to make an actual list of my TBR and then try to match the prompts instead of reading first then trying to insert that book into a prompt. I’m still figuring it all out!😂 How do you manage?
Yeah for keeping up on the reading challenges. I'm doing four of these and keeping on track as well 😀. I did not know about Angie's, I'll have to check it out.
@@AlmasBookJourney my daughter and I both enjoyed A Beautiful Disguise and she has read and loved the second one. I really liked the first one in the Culper Spy Ring series and my daughter has read the rest in that along with the novellas and it’s one of her very favorite series.
My favorite book of the year has been, “Manhood: The Masculine Virtues America Needs” by Senator Josh Hawley and my least favorite book was “Fire By Night” by Lynn Austin.
Our reading tastes are so similar. Don’t ever feel bad about feeling different than the majority about a book. Happens to me all the time. As a matter of fact, i don’t read reviews, just the synopsis. I’ve had opposite opinions of friends on Booktube. That’s ok. Reading likes is an individual thing. Loved this video. I hope at some point you would start doing reading sprints. You would be awesome and I would participate.
Thank you, Susan for saying that. I did feel like I was abnormal for not liking this book. I have never thought of doing reading sprints. I would have to figure out the technology of doing something like that. I do enjoy participating in others reading sprints.
Thank you so much for the shout out and your sweet review! I'm plugging away at the next one! (Although it's been a little tough with the new baby!) But its coming along, and I can't wait to release it! 😄
@@AlmasBookJourney of book one or two? I’m curious if it’s in book one what it was. There were a couple of things I didn’t like but still thought it was great. My book is all tabbed up!
I definitely say to take your time with Gulag Archipelago. I read that one over several months and then read volume 2 over several months. I still have to read volume 3 and I'm hoping to do that by the end of the year.
I've been to many Little Free Libraries and I'm just like you; I always tidy them up if they're a mess inside. I love you for doing this because it's such a gift to the next visitor (and all of the visitors after that). Your narration was comforting and I enjoyed this vlog very much! Forgive me but why is yellow on book covers important? No judgment -- just curious. Thanks again.
The yellow book cover is a prompt for the July Beaches and Books readathon that I had on my mind that morning. I mention that in my July TBR video. Yes, I just have to fix them up. It also helps me to go through them. Thank you for your kind words!! I really enjoyed making this video and I plan to make more like this of libraries in different areas. I just love them.
I wish this was a big thing in the UK, when I looked on the website my nearest one is 60 miles away and the next nearest is 100 miles away and only 5 of them exist in south wales!
Oh wow! Yes that is quiet a ways. I just recently discovered these even existed! I am going to visit family in Tennessee next week and hope to find some out there. Thank you for watching!
Jess, it is a big commitment and let me tell you sometimes when the alarm went off at 4:30 I wanted to go back to sleep! But I was always thankful that I made the time. I usually get up at 6 which is sleeping in for me now. Thank you for watching.
Oh I know it sounds awful! I forgot that the door has this hinge in on it and with both hands filled it slipped out of my hands. I don't usually film myself when I go these libraries. So that was a learning experience for filming for sure. I didn't notice how loud it was until I was home editing.
