Sacred seasons is something I have wanted to read, but I’ve never seen your version! I like Thomas A Kempis, but yes, slow and steady - dwell. Ivanhoe is one that grew on me. I liked it much more thinking back on it than in the midst of it! Agnes❤❤ it doesn’t feel fully developed but I loved it as well! Hooray for BBC SHAKESPEARE DRAMAS❣️

Sacred Seasons is so pretty! That's a perfect way to describe Ivanhoe. I have looked back on it fondly, but in the midst of it, I was a bit overwhelmed. 😅 Thank you so much for recommending the BBC Shakespeare!

I read A Grief Observed after my husband passed away. I kind of struggled with it though. It wasn't what I thought it would be--so maybe that's why. I think I was looking for a book on how to deal with grief and it definitely wasn't that! Definitely just felt like insight into his head as he walked through his own grief. I'm a new subscriber! Enjoyed the video❤❤

Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss. You're right- it definitely isn't that, and it's what I expected, too. Thank you for being here! 💛

Much Ado is my favorite Shakespeare also! I read Agnes Grey last year and totally got an Austen vibe from it. I'll have to listen to the LLP discussion on it.

Very fun! I haven't listened to any of the episodes yet, but I plan to swap my audiobook-listening time for podcast-listening time next week. 🙂

Agnes Grey is a favorite of mine. I have read it several times and it is my favorite Bronte. I did not listen to it though.

I read Agnes Grey last month! My second book by the Bronte sisters. I've read Wuthering Heights and wanted to try another Bronte sister. I enjoyed Agnes Grey. I didn't find it super memorable but it was a good story!

Oooh, WH seems like a book for autumn. I don't know why because I've never read it, but I have it tucked away in my brain for this fall. 😊

A Grief Observed--so good! It's really cool to kinda compare it to his earlier, more academic book The Problem of Pain, to see the difference between his academic thoughts on grief and his personal thoughts. I loved Ivanhoe! Which other Shakespeares have you read?

Maybe I'll try The Problem of Pain next, after I've let A Grief Observed settle a bit. A Midsummer Night's Dream and Othello. I very much liked both of them, but Much Ado is just delightful. 😊

@@pylesofbooks I enjoyed both of those as well! My two favorite Shakespeares are Merchant of Venice and Henry V!

@@MorgansEndlessBookshelf Merchant of Venice is what I am planning to read next, so that's great! Only because Scott references it several times in Ivanhoe. 😁
