Shawn and Maya's storyline in Girl Meets World gave Shawn the best ending possible for his character. With everything that went on in his life, that is how it should end.
grant hauver my favourite quote I’ve ever heard is, “Hope is never foolish, even when it is.” It’s changed me and saved me so many times. Hope is our reason for getting out of bed in the morning, hope for a better world, a better life, and when we get it hope that it will all stick around until the end of our days.
Shawn and Maya these two have something in common they both had a rough life Sean's dad was a little off and on and his mom abandoned him when he was little Maya's dad abandoned her
Nice to see the bio-dad apologize, be honest, and then relinquish his parental rights so that Maya could have the Dad who loved her, wanted her, and was willing to adopt her 💝 [Edit; correcting auto-correct]
I've never got around to watching most of GMW but I'd say the biggest indicator that Maya and Shawn were going to be ok in the end was when she walks out of the dressing room and he just sits down. He hasn't even got the first date with Katy by that point and his heart was already thinking of Maya as one of his own, the same way Turner and Alan treated him like family. And that's what I keep pulling from Shawn's experience from this and BMW: That family are the people you're there for and who are there for you, just pay it forward.
Shawn deserved a happy ending. In the original show his father died Angela left him and Cory and Topanga got married and he was left alone. This show was basically "What happened to Shawn" fanfiction ending in the best scenario.
The only thing that I didn't like was when Maya made it seem like her mother didn't care about her... her mom was working so hard to put food on the table and pay bills... this goes to show that children/teens if you have a parent who works really hard know that they love you and sadly America is so expensive that parents have to spend most of their hours working... she had someone who cared and loved her she was too busy wanting what Riley had
I can understand how Maya felt that way. She felt unloved and ignored so it was natural that she would think of her mom in that light. I don't condone her thoughts because her mother really did her best for Maya but she was just a kid. She didn't understand how much was being done for her. That's why when she knew, she became more understanding and loving towards her mother. Besides, Katy WAS pretty ignorant for a mother. She paid for Maya's expenses but whenever Maya had more personal issues, she always left them to the Matthews. They weren't the best in the beginning but they learned and that's what matters.
@Scarlett Estrella...Katy's role as a mother was One of Self Preservation. To defend her cub like a Mother( Bear- to the Death...) Not knocking You, I'm a man. Who looks @ this scenario like You,but as a observer, We have seen many times in real life where parents spew the poison toward the other parent. Disney and GMW took this situation and showed another view WITH CLASS. KUDOS, to the Writers: We got the message.
Obviously this response is over two years late but... Maya only acted that way because her mom filled her head with the lie that she(being her mother in this context) forced her father out of Maya's life and was simply doing the work out of obligation. It wasn't until Shawn broke down the walls of lies that she began to see her mother in a new light and respect her knowing that she too was left. This is why in the later seasons she had a new respect for her mother and even attempted to protect her in her own convoluted way after Shawn had proposed.
I can empathize with Sabrina's character in this show, especially in the episode where she sits and talks to her father and he explains his reasons. Not physically empathize in the way the show portrays, but emotionally my own father was gone, and hence I felt the same pain. Thought some of the same thoughts, too...
I call my stepdad dad sometimes me and my sister were already adopted and then my adopted parents broke up and my mom married my stepdad sometimes u dont need that piece of paper u just want to b loved by your father
This is a good clip. It reminds all of us that Fatherhood is a Huge Job. It is to be bread the Privender. It is the truth. "St Joesph. "USCCB. To Him Be The Glory. Thanks Disney.
I hate how Shawn had to get with Kathy bc he loves Maya. Nat the teacher didn't marry than mother, and Mr. Matthew didn't either. It shows ppl that they don't need blood or marriage to take care of and love a child.
I think it's a shot Shawn wanted to take, not because of Maya but because Shawn himself and what he wanted in life. He wanted someone to come home to and Katy just clicked with him; hence why he also didn't NEED to adopt Maya but he WANTED to. Its about what Shawn wanted, not what he needed to do
