I feel Riley and Maya need each other 100%. Maya needs Riley to lift her up as she's more pessimistic and Riley needs Maya to ground her as she sometimes has that disconnect from reality
That's their ying and yang in their friendship. It's a shame that the show got cancelled so abruptly. I wanted to see Shawn and Katie have a child so Maya could have a little sister or brother. Then Auggie could have a new cousin/best friend too...
Well as said in the show before as well, Riley and Maya are literally just Cory and Shawn. Riley and Maya need each other much in the same way that Cory and Shawn needed each other.
It's because they were modeled after Cory and Shawn. Cory and Shawn needed each other growing up too - it's why Shawn didn't turn into a criminal, because Cory was there to pull him back, and Cory allowed Shawn to be open to the other people in his life that also helped pull him back from that life. Riley does the same thing for Maya - introduces her to the right people who will put her on a path that is not self-destructive. But Cory and Shawn learned how to survive without each other, and Maya and Riley will too (if the show were still on).
In some ways, Maya was the girl that met the world as Shawn was the boy that met the world. Everyone around them was the symbol that hope and good people still exists, even when the world was cruel.

I feel maya my dad left when I was only 5 years old and now I'm a graduate of a class of 2017 a certified nursing assistant and I'm in college. Im only 20 years of age and my dad was never there for me or even want to hear from me. Boy meets world was my show and I never really thought I'd like the girl meets world but liked it cause I could relate to it so much. Still favorite character of both series is still eric Mathews lmfao funniest guy on the show and I still couldn't believe when they brought in Tommy

Sometimes, I fully agree with Maya; "Hope is for suckers". I don't let myself get excited about things cause usually just the opposite happens. Why get excited if you know it's just going to be a let down?

Hope IS for suckers. Whether the good thing eventually happens or not. Hope breeds fantasy, often that cannot be matched by reality. Hope is not the same as faith. It's a glorified desire that invites let-down. If you didn't have hope, it would be harder to be let down, and you can see the results for what they truly are; potentially satisfying on its own without a fantasy dictating its worth.
The episode of Girl Meets World where Maya learns that you don't have to forgive just because someone wants you to is the most powerful episode of the whole series.
You know how Shawn was still able to love Katy despite reuniting with Angela, indicating closure? Well it really speaks to me. I had a crush on a schoolmate in college for about two years, including when quarantine took over. It took so long to ask her if she'd like to catch up over Starbucks sometime. Well, it didn't happen, because I learned she was engaged. That's when I decided to try and move on. Well, I mostly managed it, I guess, but...I discovered the wedding reception I'm serving this Saturday is hers and her current fiancé's. What will it be like to see her, especially if she looks really beautiful in her dress? Will I feel pain when seeing her with the groom? I guess I didn't fully move on from her. I don't know. Is it possible I will experience good, well-needed closure during the reception?
I hope you did ok during that. I have experience in areas like that. Didn’t have to watch them get married but did have to watch them be with other people and it felt like a stab or being hit by a bus. I don’t think you ever really get over someone like you’re describing. But I think it’s good you’re trying to move on.
Oh, I moved on from her. Totally. There is bad news though. l had to end my dream to be with another woman. She used to work at the bakery I go to a lot, and we chatted and connected so many times. On her last day, she said my coffee was on her. One day, I ran into her at the bar. We chatted, and when she and her friends were singing karaoke, she gestured me toward them and pointed to the lyrics on the screen. What's funny is I had told her I didn't like being in the spotlight, so I was wondering about her motive, perspective, and if it could've meant something. But then, a few months or so later, I saw her at a club. I pretended I didn't see her in the dancing crowd, she noticed me (I think after I accidentally bumped into her), put her hand on my arm to get my attention, and said hi. It was a very brief talk, given the dancing and loudness. So of course, I did not ask for her number. But it's not just that. She was with a group of friends, and one of them was a guy she talked with. Weeks later, I saw her at the club again, I think with the same guy. She introduced him to me (though she couldn’t remember my name, so I had to remind her) and he and I shook hands. I can’t know for a fact if he’s her boyfriend, and I don’t THINK she said he was. If he is, though, I’m glad I didn’t ask for her number. I might have saw them together at the bakery, as customers. I didn't get a good look at her, nor say hi; I was too bummed about who I thought it was and the likeliness of her being taken. I think I have to move on.

Originally the characters were born in 1982, since they were 11 and sixth graders in the first season of Boy Meets World, from the second season and on their age changed, so they were around 13 or 14 in 7th grade, so from that moment and even in Girl Meets World they were born in 1980 and about 34 years old, because the series aired from 2014 to 2017. I mean he loves her, not all high school relationships last. It's just cause we've seen more of the chemistry between Shawn and Angela that we think they're better together but in reality their relationship was a little more on the toxic side. While Shawn and Katy didn't get enough screentime this making us feel like they had no chemistry

My parents were on drugs most of my life. My dad shows up when he needs me to hit the rock with him. My mom is there more. But not emotionally. I've been living on my own since I was 16 . I don't recall ever being this emotional about it. Millions of ppl grow up without 1 or both of their bio parents. We still manage. This show is weird.

Such a big miss opportunity to not make maya Shawn’s biological daughter cause she felt like female Shawn in season one before they ruined her trying to make her Riley’s clone instead of keeping maya her own character
