Driesh and Mayar are excellent munroes for beginners. If you're a beginner, climb in summer and check the weather forecast beforehand; avoid if it's cold, wet or windy for a good experience. Stick to the Kilbo path. Remember, never climb alone, and have a map, compass, and good, warm, waterproof clothing and good footwear with you. Stay safe.

Great video Driesh and Mayar were my very 1st Munros back in 1992, they are Munros that I have a lot of affection for. I'm now only 3 summits away from completing my 2nd round of the Munros, but I still enjoy going back to Driesh and Mayar time and time again. Thanks again for sharing.

@@DanMunroMan I have Sgurr nan Gillean and Sgurr Dubh Mor on Skye to do then I will climb Slioch to complete. I finished 1st time around on Slioch as well.

I've climbed Driesh and Mayar many times. Once I did these, but up The Scorrie to Driesh first, in 100 mph winds one February. It was bracing, choking, very turbulent with me on my ice axe and very bleak! I nearly gave up, maybe I should have done. I survived though, evidently.

@@DanMunroMan You're right, I shouldn't have done but I couldn't resist the challenge at the time. I got up the steep part round the right hand side of the Scorrie ok, then the wind hit on the more level bit leading up to Driesh. I met two climbers there crabbing down and looking terrified. The first words I heard were, "Don't go up there!" as I crabbed past them, the wind being too loud for any kind of proper conversation. I would definitely turn back nowadays, though. It was back in the days when the ex-RAF guy Danny was the warden of Glen Doll youth hostel, so I'm talking a long time ago. I'm older and more sensible now.

You seemed to burn more calories on this walk but with less miles. I wonder if that is to do with the cold water exposure?

Oh! So the first one i used a calorie calculator because i didnt have my fit bit yet, but i bring my fit bit on the rest of them!
