And then did it again five batters latter. Weird, weird version of baseball. But everyone built their skills. Especially that first baseman.

Taylor went 0-4 with 4 strikeouts, but his Nationals go to the bottom of the 9th up by three runs, but the Dodgers loaded the bases in the bottom of the 9th and Yasiel Puig at the plate. Ball hit to...Michael Taylor in CF! Ball lands in front of Taylor, ball rolls under his glove-all four runs score. Dodgers win 7-6. A single and a 3-base error, or a bases loaded inside the park home run, if you like.

Interesting story, but I think I may be able to top it with a report I read in a sports book long ago. Mike Grady is playing third base for the New York Giants in 1895. The batter hits a ground ball to him and he boots it for error number one. Thinking he can still nab the runner, he picks up the ball and flings it ten feet wide of the first baseman for error number two. As the right fields races into foul territory to retrieve the baseball, the runner rounds second base and decides to head for third. The right fielder picks up the ball and fires a perfect strike to Grady, who is now covering third. Unfortunately, Grady doesn't catch it and the ball squirts away from him for error number three. The runner, having slid into third, picks himself up and dashes towards the plate. Grady retrieves the ball and throws home. The ball sails five feet over the catcher's outstretched mitt for error number four.

So....apparently I could've played catcher in college at UoP?

i can hear ALL of my old coaches yelling THROW HOME stop throwing to first. we would have been in SO much trouble giving that many runs by throwing to first

Common denominator is the catcher. I didnt notice until the last pitcher came in that this catcher doesnt present a target to throw at. I used to hate throwing to catchers that didnt put their glove up near the strike zone. To me at that time in my baseball playing days, it was like shooting hoops on a rim that doesnt have a net. It is so much easier to throw strikes at a target.

Wondering if you could do a breakdown on the Denison 24 hour game from last week or so?

The only veracity game I pitched in my sophomore year of high school, I came in in the top of the 7th, up 3. My third baseman had 7 errors in one inning, including 4 on bunts. I gave up 5 runs on no hits, one walk, 2 strikeouts, and a pick-off. We lost by 1. I finished the season with a 0.00 ERA and 5 RA in one inning. And that was one of 4 games we lost, including the state championship game.

Watched them play two weekends ago against TCU and they showed bunt quite often

The great play by the third basemen but the runner still scoring is the icing on the cake lmao

I've had innings like this! ...in local little league when I was 7 or so.

That reminds me of pitching on a different WCC team 25 years ago. The only difference is once two errors and a few balls got past the catcher, I would give up a jack. My PTSD is coming back after watching this.

One time in hs we played a doubleheader. In game one we didn’t execute our bunts so in game two coach made the entire lineup bunt the first time through the order. We did score a run

That random play by the third baseman was so funny and a great play

Had that happen to my team a while back in the final championship game. The other team had bunted for 4 innings. 😂 They had racked up about 7 runs on us. We were definitely shook but eventually we settled down and made a crazy comeback to take it all!

San Diego coaches must've put together a crazy good scouting report. "Yeah this team can't field so we're going to bunt all day"

We need to see this bunt only strategy in the MLB lol. Perfect for my Royals since they historically do small ball so well.

Also, will note thiis for the fans... this WASN'T the Toreros' most skewed line score of the year (16 runs, 8 hits with 3 Pac errors). They actually had 16 runs on 7 hits... vs Nebraska. And the Huskers had only one error! (Also, 8 walks and 3 hit batters, vs Pac's 14 walks, 5 hit batters.) Oh, and despite a 9-run inning on 3 hits and a 6-run inning on 1 hit... they didn't win! It was a 16-16 tie, LOL.
