Yeah and then for some reason the Dodger's manager comes out a yells at the catcher like what did the catcher do he was basiclly just asking him if he was good
Mind you, it looks like there were warnings in place as the manager was ejected too. And the pitcher walked straight off before being thrown out. I might be wrong in my first post. Some idiot did want to hit Greinke.
I'm honestly surprised some of these umps don't get jumped in the middle of the ballpark after their abysmal performance. They are obviously not being punished by the league, so it's almost like the only ones in a position to fight back are the players with bats in their hands.
@@albundy6008 according to common sense, too. Especially when it's in the vicinity of your head. And throwing behind the batter is a guaranteed ejection.
@@beyondtoxinz3152I think he implied that in his comment by “this isn’t boxing” But I thought what you thought at first too, but nobody should be allowed to put your hands on someone else and another gets ejected for it
@@reynoldsmathey Irrelevant scumbag. Umpires should get in just as much trouble as the players for daring to touch someone else like that. Severe fines, suspensions and even outright being fired.
not true at all lol. it's an automatic ejection if after telling a player to stop questioning or complaining about a call they keep going. as well as if they say "you suck.." or "you're f-ing terrible" automatic ejection. it doesn't have anything to do with the umpires not "caring" about players/coaches.
If they played it longer, Girardi got thrown out for arguing the warning. Then the pitcher nailed Rodriguez on the next pitch and got tossed. If my memory serves me correctly
@@jeffkerr7418 nope not ego. you should look up MLB rules sometime. most of these are equipment violations, arguing balls and strikes, showing up the umpire (showing where the strike zone is by drawing on the ground is ejectable look it up) as well as chirping at the umpire from the dugout. all ejectable offences. I even noticed a few catchers who were lucky they did not get ejected for touching the umpire.
Just a reminder that fans attend games to see the PLAYERS not the umpires. If you’re going to hold players to such high expectations, their on field counterparts need to be held to the same standards. An umpire screws up, he’s held accountable just like a player. A player doesn’t touch an umpire, an umpire doesn’t touch a player. A player doesn’t point at an umpire, an umpire doesn’t point at a player. Although I will admit there were a few instances that I liked where the player did something wrong and he’s not even arguing it. He’s got that look of “that’s right, I did that. And I’ll do it again.”
2 minutes in and there's nothing to show WHY the ejections were made (valid/invalid) You get a play, maybe 2 pitches and an ejection?? How about some context
0:21 that's the worst non-ejection. After throwing at A-Rod and missing on the first pitch, Ryan Dempster hits him on Ball 4, intentional as it gets - and both benches are warned, Dempster gets to stay in the game, and Girardi is tossed out for complaining? I'm not even a Yankees fan and I think that's incredibly dumb.
If you point to where the pitch was and you get thrown out of the game , you should be able to demand a replay and if the pitch was where you pointed, the ump gets thrown out .
I hate to say it but if you get ejected no matter what you say or how you try to explain or no matter what you do once the umpire does the ejection sign you can’t do anything to try and stay in the game. You can’t be ejected and then try to be unejected and stay in the game
Do you remember the Yadi Molina ejection when he couldn't run out an infield single. Threw his helmet behind 1st base in frustration at himself. Ump threw him out, misinterpreting his actions. But the stupid ump didn't undo the ejection, accept he was mistaken and Molina was just angry at himself..... 6.52 on this vid - he was robbed by Brandon Crawford - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fJ6H5bUMRYE.html
I refer youth solver the most important thing as ref/offical/ump is being open with players and when they ask or bring something up say what your seeing if someone asks hey was that high just say yeah I missed the call illl try and keep it in check
It's amazing to me that grown men making millions of dollars to play baseball still lose their minds. Shut up and play and enjoy your millions for playing a GAME!
Some of these umps cant wait to find an excuse to run a player. Its past time that these so-called umpires need to answer for their terrible calls. They are changing outcomes of the games and ruining baseball altogether. MLB needs to do better like yesterday.
I know that being an umpire is difficult (but they choose the career) and these clips can't show everything that preceded the ejections but it seems to me that some of these umpires are a little bit "thin skinned".
I love how indignant ARod is after he gets beaned. He's like "Omg you guys, it's so unfair that you don't want me to cheat. I just want to cheat. Chill." Should've thrown at his head. For the sake of the guy who nobody's ever heard of... who had to go work at Jiffy Lube, after he got released from the minor league club, because he never got a chance to go up to the Show, because that piece of shit ARod was there, taking his spot, longer than he would've been if he hadn't cheated.
You know, it's really funny. You don't have a lot of other major league sports that have notorious referees or empires that most fans know by name. This doesn't speak well for major league baseball because of the fact that the umps Make questionable calls and there is no one to check them. If they're gonna add a pitch clock, then they need to add a camera to home plate and get rid of the homeplate on ump. There's too much ego.
I really wish a manager of a team would tell his player who gets ejected for some manby pamby issue to stay in the game and call the umpires ejection. If the umpire ejectes anyone else, call the entire team off the field and tell the other umps they will not play as long as the home plate umpire is allowed to stay behind the plate. I’m so sick of umpire hijacking games. It’s about the players you jackweed umps, it’s not about you!!
It's a well-known fact that you may say anything you want to say when your back is turned. It's literally in the Bible. And all of the umpire hate just proves how very little the people in the comments know about how baseball works.
So the injections on the hit batters, if the umpire thinks if its intentional at all its an automatic ejection. Also arguing a ball or a strke is an auto ejection as well
@@jakevandevoorde5170I think because of the addition of technology it's Is made homeplate umpires redundant. You have guides throwing eighties nineties and hundreds now. We have technology that contract that pitch. Why do we need a human Eye to call balls and strike? When a computer could actually do it so much faster with more accuracy and less ego.
@@LateLosttradition. Also to justify the Umpires salaries. A computer is also not gonna try to stop an irate batter from going after a pitcher who beaned him.
Jerry Meals had to have been legally partly blind like Angel Hernandez. I read a story where in either 1981 or 1983 when Angel was an A ball rookie umpire in Florida, he was jumped by two drunk angry fans for his bad performance and beaten. The damage resulted in 35% vision loss in one eye. He literally can’t see the low corners. He sued and the settlement out of court in 1986 was a job for life/until retirement.
I've only ever seen one Umpire apologize for a bad call and that was Jim Joyce when he took away a no-hitter. Outside of that I have NEVER seen any umpire admit they messed up call.
With today’s technology we do not need the home plate umpire to call balls and strikes. But, do we want computerized umpires calling balls and strikes?
@@freezegopher7054It was a thing MLB did with special uniforms and helmets (notice no logos or colors?) and nicknames, like the one that said "THREE KID$". "Happer" is his clubhouse nickname.
MLB players, coaches , and managers need to completely ignore the umpires. Umps want to be a part of the game rather than officials, don't let them be. After exchanging line-up card, don't have another word to say to them. Don't argue balls and strike, check swings nothing. On the other hand don't talk to them, look at them. Don't offer help when they get hit by a foul ball, nothing. all of their dramatics when calling a third strike, all to be a part of the show, BS. Totally ignore them and the BS will stop. They will learn the strike zone, or be reported. Start protesting more games, just to be a thorn in the side. Just don't talk to the umps. I realize that not all of them are bad, but they all belong to the same union and should be treated the same way. Have a nice day.
Batters need to shut up and stop taking borderline pitches, Leave it to the umpire to make the call this is what you get, then act like spoiled children in their tantrum. Good role models....NOT!
