On February 24, 1989, N4713U, a Boeing 747-122, operating as United Airlines Flight 811 was climbing out of 25000ft outbound Honolulu, inbound to Auckland when a cargo-door failure in flight shortly after leaving Honolulu. The resulting explosive decompression blew out several rows of seats, killing nine passengers. The aircraft returned to Honolulu and landed with no further incident.

Damn good pilots. They have to both be grey hairs. No rookie could pull that off.

I agree. Experience will beat your expensive education and your high opinion of yourself everytime.

Is this the flight that the flight attendant was sucked out of the plane i wonder??

THAT LANDED? With no right wing engines and a massive hole?
@kkjjqrysdgadff7782
@kkjjqrysdgadff7782 День назад
Engines are redundant, you can land a 747 with a single engine. Structural integrity of the hull is also irrelevant to flight, the wings are what causes a plane to fly and they were not severely damaged in this incident.

@@kkjjqrysdgadff7782 Well I knew this was possible on a twin engine. The gaping hole in the side didn't add any complication?
