Floyd basically sparred with conner untill Conner got too tired to continue to put on a semi-convincing show ... then he ended the fight before it lost all momentum. He carried Conner to give us a decent show.

It was a battle of fucking egos..Floyd wasnt going to knock him out , he wanted to make an example of McGregor and prove he's the best.. Im from Ireland, i didnt buy into the Mcgregor hype like the fools going around believing that he's the best fighter in the world! People would believe anything. Hes not even the best in the UFC. Floyd is not a fool and doesn't have to do a rematch in the UFC, he never said he would. McGregors own ego and hype made him think he could actually beat Floyd. If he looses his next fight in the UFC he is fucked, so he will have to choose them very wisely!

The big problem would be that in all the ten rounds McGregor didn't hurt Floyd once, so does anyone really think if he stayed at 154 he could hurt guys like GGG or Canelo?

conor did throw lots of punches but those were some of the most weak ass punches i have ever seen in boxing, no power just swinging his arms, while you could literally hear floyd's solid punches landing on his face ,and floyd's strategy in this match was totally different, as soon as he knew Conor's punches can't take him down, he let him throw those punches becasue he was going for the K.O, but shitt, the fucking refree stopped it

Amazing career. He is talking about finding the next Floyd Mayweather now but it may never happen. For lack of a better phrase, the stars aligned perfectly for Floyd to achieve what he has throughout his career. Born into a prestigious boxing family and not only having his Father as a professional boxer and a world class trainer but also his two uncles. Despite this he still had the humble beginnings which seems to be a catalyst in a lot of fighters. He had a love of the sport at a young age. He had the natural athletic ability and pedigree. He has an extroverted, outspoken personality to sell fights and generate fan bases. From all reports he had the best work ethic in the sport, even to the extent that other fighters are in awe. He had the best boxing IQ that the sport has ever seen. He had the best defense the sport has ever seen which has gone a long way towards his longevity and has allowed more time to build his resume and profile. He had the competitiveness and the will to win at all costs. He had the healthy lifestyle choices between fights (no drinking, drugs, smoking and always stayed in shape). A fighter may have one or more of these attributes but for Floyd to have them all and basically be the best at them all, this is why he is so special and it will be a long time until we see someone as good. Lastly just want to mention that if you chop his resume in half PrettyBoy Half/Money half you end up with 2 hall of fame resumes. Thanks for the memories Floyd, instead of hearing about great fighters from eras before I was born, with your career I have been able to watch greatness as it unfolded in front of me.

I don't like floyd but i respect him. He shows off to much but... his upbringing was rough as hell and he always works 110%. He's always in immaculate shape even during his retirements, does his research meticulously on opponents and never takes a match up for granted. That's why he's never lost and that's why when he speaks about boxing I listen

I agree with Mayweather's assessment of McGregor sticking with MMA/ UFC. Mayweather was smaller, 2 years without fighting, 40 years old and basically, it was an easy fight in the end. Now should McGregor decide to become a pro boxer he would face fighters of his size and weight and younger than Mayweather. Most likely none of them would possess Mayweather's overall God given natural skills but the elite boxers are pretty damn talented and have been boxers their whole carreer. Boxers technically punch differently than MMA/ UFC fighters & I personally believe that a boxer's punching technique is more lethal than MMA/ UFC fighters mainly because that's what boxing is : punching exclusively as opposed to martial arts which includes punching. Boxers also develop the footwork and weight distribution behind their punches, develop footwork, balance techniques & neck muscles which help to absorb a punch and again they've been training and developing these "strictly" boxing techniques for years. McGregor might do ok vs lower rank boxers but "a future" as a pro boxer would mean getting to a title shot & I don't think he'd get there. He'd have to fight too many "quality", hungry, gifted boxers in the challengers ranks. In closing I also believe that had Mayweather been the same age as McGregor the fight would have been over much sooner.

He got outboxed by McGregor in the first 4 rounds. Mayweather kept turning his back so the ref would save him. Mayweather went 10 rounds with a guy who hasn't had a professional boxing match. At least when Conor got hit he didn't turn his back so the ref would save him. Im a boxing fan i was truly embarrassed by Mayweather. Conor actually surprised me. The ref should of waited until McGregor fell. MMA fighters can take alot more damage than Boxers. MMA is alot tougher than boxing.

I think Conor genuinely gave a him a strange look the first 2-3 rounds but like the master that he is he executed his gameplan perfectly, he let Conor wear himself out after 3 rounds, then slowed him down even more with the bodyshots and finished up nicely with repeated headshots.

I'm a Connor fan.. He had 2 maybe 3 decent rounds in IMO.. I mean did people really think Connor was gonna win???? If they did they have no idea about the fight game..
