I'm thinking of getting a Mazda3 in a recent future...this 3 generation looks so cool. Stoked to see more videos from you in the future!

I went from a 2006 mazda3 (base trim sedan) to a 2021 mazda3 hatch (premium manual). I love both of them a lot. My only nitpicks with 4th gen is the tires (premium has the 18" black wheels) and battery that come from factory are not good (the oem tires are not great in the rain / snow especially with manual so you have to be more careful when taking off from a stop to keep traction and be careful when turning or the rear likes to swing out due to the tortion beam suspension, and battery has a notoroious reputation of dying in less than 3 years). I know some people dont like the rear torsion beam, you do notice the rear end slip a bit on bumpy roads and hard cornering but I personally dont mind that. I find it fun and a plus that you can get the rear to swing out in a FWD car. People also complain about the gas mileage but I get about 30mpg to 33 in the city and about 40-45 on the highway (good compared to old cars but not great compared to modern cars with CVTs or hybrids, but the benegfit is you have the SUPER reliable mazda skyactiv engine and transmission so you dont have to worry about your engine crapping out on you) and these numbers area also with the manual where I sometimes drive it a bit more speedy / hard. Coasting when you dont need to press the gas / engine breaking and getting up to speed so you can coast helps a lot with the MPG. Mine was also made in japan, there have been reports of some rattling / assembly issues in the made in mexico ones (especially for the 2019 / 2020 first couple of years the 4th gen started production). Theres a few other minor issues with tech service bulletins to fix but overall no major issues specifically with the engine or driveline and no major recalls, so far mine is at 35k miles with no issues. my 2006 mazda3 had a few issues but overall it was a wonderful car. main issues were at 100k miles the coolant temp sensor went bad and the PCV valve went bad causing a rough idle (which are both common issues with that gen once you get to about 100k miles). the PCV is a pain to replace but doable, and the coolant temp sensor and coolant pump were easy (I replaced both since I was already going to need to replace the coolant anyways). It also had some bad rust underneath which was ultimately why I got rid of it. It handled great and never became inoperable, was super comfy in long drives, and had great speakers on the base trim, it did have a bit of road noise though (the 4th gen is near dead quiet inside which I kind of hate, makes you less aware / less connected to the traffic around you and feels more dangerous imo. I usually drive with windows down or cracked anyways whenever I can). It was a super sturdy fun to drive sedan, I had a smile on my face when I first took it for a test drive (I have driven an early 2000s BMW, civic, avenger, 2018 kia soul, and my dads 2017 mazda cx-5 up until that point and the mazda3 was super fun / more zippy and nimble feeling compared to all of those cars). Ever since then Ive been sold on Mazda as a company and for their cars, and theyve only been getting better since then.

This car is so cool! I have one and I love how sport it looks, the only problem is that in my country (Mexico) there are a lot of streets and roads in bad conditions and I hit the lip or the skirts or basically any part of the bottom, very often :c so I would be likely to replace my loved 3 for a CX-30 or so :')
@marsmazda

You've got the turbo... and I'm excited about getting the Skyactiv turbocharger for my 2012 Mazda 3! I love the car already, can't wait to see how it goes with a big bump. So I'm also looking forward to some handling upgrades like this!

sick, that thing should rip! this turbo spools up instantly and puts down some pretty good torque

A downside to changing the suspension is that it throws off all of the cars tracking sensors.

Hi, do you recommend these instead of the Corksport ? for a 2021 AWD non-turbo
@marsmazda
@marsmazda Год назад
yes i do. it’s the perfect happy medium. not too low not too high. these are a little higher than the turbo corksport springs and a little lower than the corksport “not so low” springs. also eibach provides bump stops so there isn’t need for modifications just plug and play.

Curious to know your experience with how these springs effect noise inside the cabin. I’m super sensitive to rattles/vibrations and have concern that it’ll make things really buzzy. Obviously bumps are gonna be more aggressive which might be a pain on these shitty Colorado roads lol
@TiltedKit
@TiltedKit Год назад
Also - Any idea of 19' wheels will still fit with these lowering springs? Corksport offers a not-so-low package but I'm really put off by the idea of needing to cut the bump stops for some reason.
@marsmazda
@marsmazda Год назад
honestly haven’t noticed any additional rattles besides the typical ones lol i also do have my volume pretty loud all the time so i’ll turn it down next time i go driving and get back to u with an update
@marsmazda
@marsmazda Год назад
@@TiltedKit pretty sure 19s will fit but it depends on offset and tire size. if u went with a +35 offset i’d go with some stretched tires. if u want more meaty tires i’d go with a +40 through +45 offset. i’ve seen people run +35 offset lowered and has slight rubbing at full turn
@TiltedKit
@TiltedKit Год назад
@@marsmazda Lol, appreciate it man. Most of the time I have music going too with how bonkers good the sound system in this car is, but sometimes a quiet ride is nice too. Luckily, so far, mine doesn't make any rattles besides the infotainment screen which I think I fixed with some foam. Either way - Look forward to your reply about the noise!
@marsmazda
@marsmazda Год назад
@@TiltedKit no additional noise with these springs! just notice bumps more which is typical when u get stiffer suspension.

lol yes sir ur right. going the opposite direction of a bmw or mercedes actually. wouldn’t want to pay double for that luxury tax. some people enjoy modifying their cars and can do whatever they want to them. it ain’t wasting money when it makes u happy. take it easy boss 🤙🏽
@PureTazr
@PureTazr Год назад
Ok while I pay $600 or less for maintenance, cause 95% of my Mazda I can do myself you have to shell out 1000s. I get 50mpg your lucky to get 25mpg. My Mazda should last past 250k without a engine swap you have to swap it aver 100k. Not to mention it's a money pit after 100k.
@ryanjv

Had a manual 550i. Great fun when it worked. It was always breaking down, even needed a new engine. Quality isn't there anymore. Just got a 2023 manual white hatch 2 weeks ago. Premium German luxury feel inside that was familiar, and it's great fun to drive. Bmw reliability can't even touch mazda these days so I'm looking forward to driving more than parking
