Mazda CX-5 | Old vs new 

I think the older rear light design is what made it Mazda, very recognisable.

I prefer the older headlight and taillight LEDs. Other than that its nice. Still love my 2016.5 model.

I do prefer the facelift version, especially at the front. It looks sharper and more purposeful than the pre facelift. Bigger infotainment screen also a real improvement. Overall I still think its a very impressive SUV.

Bummer that there aren't bigger changes. Mazda was ahead of the pack for a while, but its starting to age. MPG, cargo and ground clearance are better on competitors

Eh, i kinda like they look of the older ones better. The old one looked more complete with vent-looking things on the bottom. The old rear lights looked Ferrari-ish and stood out more with the circular part.

Two things that I don’t understand about Mazda CX-5 2022: 1. Why Mazda hesitates to change the interior design and make it similar to the new design in Mazda CX-30 and Mazda 3? 2. Why Mazda has not embraced hybrid powertrains for the CX-5? A hybrid similar to what Toyota uses in its RAV-4 (not a plug-in hybrid)?

I think the old one looks better, much more minimalist and cohesive. The new one incorporates some styling elements that clash with the usual simple design

why you don´t put panoramic sunroof? your CX5 is stunning but we deserve panoramic sunroof.

We looked at new 2022 Turbos but kept the 2021 GTR Turbo. We liked the older design better and the fog lights + old style seats.

As a 22 cx5 signature owner I wish infotainment buttons were updated, had reverse tilt side view mirror, automatic parking brake engaged when engine turned off and being able to see my tire pressures.

The new headlight unit reminds me of a jag f pace

I hope they've done something about the lane keep assist? in my 2021 CX-30gt sport tech it hardly ever sees the lane markings and I hope they put washer jets on the front and rear cameras as mine often get covered in muck off the road and stop working which then takes down the adaptive cruise control with it.

Couldnt you put the designers of this beauty to design the CX 60?

Need a heated windscreen and the heater controls higher like the cx30 also I can't see if the headlights are on on the dashboard, put to top of screen also like the cx30 ,glad to see they have kept away from touchscreen controls ,

Old headlights and tail lights are more recognizable as Mazda. It think its better to stick with the "old" design and focus their effort to something else.

I’ve loved Mazda, I currently have a 2021 CX-5 Carbon, but I got to say, not much has changed. It’s a little disappointing knowing that the Competitors have more technology and better redesigns then Mazda. The CX5 has one of the best crash rating but that’s about it, Kia is one that shows to be cheaper, packed with technology and amazing upcoming redesigns. The only hope for Mazda to keep its fan base will probably be the CX-50 or CX-60

DONT BUY NEW NON STOCK MAZDA I had ordered a new car through my local dealership who have been very good with me. The problem is with Mazda UK itself. My newly ordered MX 30 was meant to arrive in September. this was then delayed to October, then in October I was told it would be mid November, then in mid November it was pushed to the start of December. only to find out in mid December the car had failed its DVLA checks as it was a new model!! The customer services couldn't care less, at first constantly talking over me until I had to explain interrupting was rude and uncivilised behaver. in the end despite it all being their fault i am now out of pocket several £1000's of pounds they basically said they wont do anything and that its the dealerships problem to solve.

Now I've seen the GT trim that I want I have to say" Mazda why did you only make this very nice car with a dookie brown interior " I can't go for that! and my wife says she wouldn't want to travel in it. What were you thinking? After chatting with the dealer he did offer to get it retrimmed for me in a better colour but its too expensive at £5k extra. I feel for a top of the range car I would expect some choice instead of the "My way or the highway" approach but they can please themselves, I will Mazda!

Still prefer the old... seems like Mazda wanna be BMW more and more. The old lights are what defined Mazda. Now it's gone...

i dont like this, all of the elegance has gone the front headlights look like bmw ones (not the good ones) and dont connect to anything else on the car the grille looks way too square the rear... the irregular shapes in the taillights dont connect to anything, same as in the front i hope they dont destroy the mx5 and maxda2 at least
