We braved unseasonably wet and windy conditions to travel to Scotland to test the all-new second-generation Mazda CX-5.
Our written review blew away in the wind. We found it in a puddle and are just waiting for it to dry before it goes up on www.drivers-seat.com.

Great to see you amongst the first to review it in the U.K. The info system IS apparently touch screen but only when stationary otherwise rotary dial.

Stone leather interior is very smart, rather than all dark. Manual gear box is fantastic, nice short throw, better than most hot-hatches.

In the US most reviewers agree with Mazda getting rid of the 2.0L gasoline engine, as it was felt to be underpowered. Many find the 2.5L engine somewhat anemic as well.

would be nice to get the option of the 2.5L 190PS model, but i'll need to settle for the 165 for now, don't want a diesel.

What colour is it? standard white or snowflake? Looks fantastic and glad you tested the petrol rather than the diesel. I would prefer an auto option on it, and 2.5l petrol you can get in AU and USA.

No more standard white...at least in the US. Snowflake is really pretty but you have to see the car in just the right light to get the full effect.

it is touch screen infoscreen when in park ...you need to use the knob when driving

Enjoyed the video - surprised you reviewed this while a storm was passing through in Scotland. What happened to your driver sear headrest in the 1st half of the review? Here in the States, we don't get the manual transmission option - or the cd player either for that matter. But it's so much quieter than ever before.

I liked the old one... only 6 gears. I have 7 DSG gears in a VW... long distance steady speeds are low revs... was waiting for this before I change my car... think I'll cross it off my list.

chitpaul singh kallah 6 gears are enough, but choose the 175 HP Diesel. The 2 litre petrol engine is more a «poor mans option». We own the former CX-5 and this Diesel is really powerful with a lot of low-rev torque.

Thanks John. Started in Inverness, went through the Grampians and across to nr Aberdeen. Stunning but strong winds and lots of flooding.

Sadly Have your noticed the guy is test driving the CX 5 with the handbreak on go figure

Paul Trye well that would be impressive considering it has an electronic handbrake. From simply watching the film there is no way to ascertain whether the handbrake is on or not. There is however shots of the dash and centre console showing the hand brake engaged but obviously these were shot when the SUV was stationary. Go figure.
