All the sounds have to come live from them (doesn't necessarily have to come from their mouth). But they are allowed to use their loop-station to edit their voices to sound more like other things. All the editing is done on the spot though. Insane amount of practice needs to be done to make their edits on the fly without tuning. As an aside, you should watch both MB14 vs Thorsen (One of my favorite MB14 performances). And Saro vs NME Grand Finale is amazing too. You'll love both. Keep up the solid work man!
"He Just Different Man!" Every time I hear Stevie say this in the background I run over to my computer to see what he is talking about. Stevie should put this on a t-shirt...
I've been watching and following beatboxing for about 2 years now. And I've watched pretty much all the BeatBox reaction channels and ... YOUR reaction was THE BEST I've ever seen. You felt Saro's soul in that last drop. Your reaction was fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Great video. Definitely keep watching the loop station battles, most of them are fire too.
The thing I love about loops station battles is it's like a mix of a beat box battle, dj battle and music production battle all mixed into one. I love all 3 of those things and combined it's just unreal.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG. Bruh this shit was as hype as i was hoping. Knew you would go crazy, def need to watch his whole tournament here.
YES Stevie Knight my brother!!! You've finally found beatbox loopstation! I stumbled across this video maybe 2 years ago. Blew my mind. I'm excited to see what one you're guna put up next! Keep up the good work sir. Peace.
Best reaction vid ever!!!! That was so great to watch, because I literally reacted the same way the first time I heard Saro! Keep the reactions coming, that was awesome!
Yo Knight! As you react to more beatboxers, your community is going to have more people trying to show you "Technicality" (The style with rapid snares, pops, and high energy) (Reeps One is considered to be one of the most talented in this style) Keep in mind that these guys are constantly on the bleeding edge of sound in terms of the human body's ability to produce vocal percussion. After your ear adjusts over a few videos and you start to identify people who can spit drum loops like rappers spit bars. Except the language is cadence and you'll feel the groove in your body- Like Saro's killer performance, keeping you constantly engaged and letting the beat ride when its right. MB14 I think chose to do an impromptu cover of "Toxicity" by S.O.A.D. because he was only using 1 or 2 of his loops instead of the full board- in these competitions, adjusting on the fly to showcase an area of skill your opponent would be weak in is a solid way to score points on a judge sheet. He had first reply after Saro finished, Heard Saro's choice of genre and countered with his own- with a lot of exposed snares and kicks not covered by a backing track. Showcasing sustained rhythm and a solid singing section, MB has some pipes on em. Just like how boxers will favor certain areas, and coaches have their playbook's - These guys are using their ability to combine improvised and consistent rhythm with pre planned sets . The closest analogy I can think off the top of my head, is that beatboxing is most similar to Jazz. Your granddaddy's Jazz. Where it was different every night and everyone was cutthroat while still discovering new styles of music . But the beatboxing community is very, very tight knit and the guy in the front row with the crazy facial expressions ? That's BBK, hes in pretty much every SBBX video in the crowd hyping people up. He is a character man, and there a lot of them in the BBX community. Loving the content man, been watchin for a minute and watching someone even if by accident develop their ears for different varieties of music and artists- its dope to see and you don't see it enough. Keep killin it man!
If you thought this was fire, you should watch Rhythmind’s loopstation compilation. This is my first video I’ve seen of yours, I rock with you heavy. gotta subscribe after this reaction💯
This is one of the best loop station battles ever, great video for your first introduction. If your going to be watching some more try out So-So and balance, they’re two of my favs, 👊
You’re the first guy I see who react to this. I thought that Swissbeatbox was well known in Europe but not in USA. So good to see your reaction, there’s plenty of good show you can see in that RU-vid channel
There's a video called "Saro @ Vieilles Charrues 2018" where Saro does a 50 minute set on just his loop station in front of a giant crowd. This guy can *actually* do a whole concert.
I don’t think enough people appreciate how my man just created Toxicity and we didn’t even know it... like no one is gonna appreciate that unless they actually like that type of music
Saro's last round was wild. When the first drop hits you think that's the drop until you hear him build up to the second drop and then the REAL drop hits.
Yo I saw that you enjoyed this. I'd suggest trying out Ratchetklank by Tom Thum. If you really want your socks blown off with the whole loop station thing :)
They can add effects with the loop station but they have to beatbox a sound into the loop station to get the same sound with or without effects back out of it
Please react to more loopstation bruh is so lit!! I recommend Rythmind, Brez, NME, and SoSo. Also this battle didnt do MB14 any justice, dude is an absolute monster on the RC 505 dawg.
