McAllen is an absolutely beautiful and incredible city located on the southern border of The United States and Mexico. In this video, we took a 6 AM drive through the city and towards Edinburg. I had to pleasure of staying at the wonderful Embassy Suites and enjoying great food and conversations.

@@somedudeinatunnel3102 I don’t think it’s any different from anywhere else, but aside from that it’s pretty laid back, no riots or looting like what’s going on in the big cities with this election thing, we are very conservative here, 30 minutes from Mexico, like about 2 hours from padre island..it’s not very touristy, we have to go to San Antonio or Houston for vacation..if you like peace and quiet and a clean city, if your car break down in the middle of the street, prepare to have 1 or 2 drivers assist you quickly..we respect our police..cost of living is low here..🙂

@@sandygrimes7196 Thanks for the quick reply, I'd be coming from Ohio, just me and my car with my stuff :) I can work from anywhere and I don't feel like putting up with winter again, I spent last year in San Diego California and I'm spoiled by good weather now. I can actually save even more money in the valley than up here in Ohio, and good weather to boot! I'm just apprehensive about how bad COVID is there. You're conservative there, are you sure? Election map says y'all went blue, which is what I was hoping for...I'm as liberal as it gets, haha. Thanks again.

@@somedudeinatunnel3102, I’m a Republican but don’t let that stop you, yeah the weather here is like 10 months of summer and 2 months cold, no fall or spring here..believe me here in the valley it’s split with blue and red, but one thing I can tell you whatever side your on, nobody here will disrespect your side, or throw your cap off your head, we all respect each other, and you don’t have to drive no more than 10 to 30 minutes to the store, mall, or work..

I lived there for 2 months doing a legal internship with Texas Civil Rights Project in Alamo, Texas (5 minutes away from Mcallen). It was really weird not knowing anyone there, but I'm Mexican-American so I felt relatively comfortable...it's a complete suburban sprawl, which I don't like, and it's SUPER hot in the summers, but you're close to San Padre Island and also, there are tons of great small businesses in Mcallen, I really liked that. And it's very family friendly.

What about the border?
@nomadnametab
@nomadnametab 3 года назад
this side of the border its not bad. not much violent crime. most of what there is is domestic. the narcos don't do much here. this side of the river is where they run over when it gets too hot for them at home. they build big fancy houses and move their families over here because nobody is going to bother them. in reynosa on the other hand....at one point 3,000 mexican army and marines were having regular shootouts with the narco terrorists. things have calmed down a lot but i would still avoid reynosa. now the narcos are making more money off smuggling in illegals from central america and elsewhere than off dope. and they traffic lots of sex slaves . nothing crosses the border illegally without paying them off. its hard to imagine living in mcallen that 10 miles from downtown there is a war going on. if anyone wants to shop in mexico they tend to go down the river a few miles to progresso. its safe. the locals told the narcos to stay out. when pence came to see the border situation in 2018 the mexican army had troops lined up all along the river bank , making sure one of the narcos didn't start taking pot shots at him. same when trump came. our border patrol are not as well armed or cleared to fire as the mexican army is. one thing odd about mcallen. its a democrat run city. a republican could get elected when a head of cabbage did. but unlike places where democrats rule in a one-party city , it actually works. they are doing a rather good job. only the national democrats , the anglos up north, keep berating mcallen and keep denying there is any growth and development. the local democrats are getting tired of being put down like that. the county almost went for trump in 2020. that is a big change. i had to laugh when bob the fake mexican came to campaign and in front of an audience of older, traditional mexican americans he called anyone who didn't support him "pendjos". ass holes. you could feel the cringe . they were not amused. some of them got thinking he is an irish freak who pretends to be a mexican to try to pander . his use of pendejo was about as funny as when cheech taught chong to say it. i like this place. came here in 1969 in junior high. the area was home for years. im back now in my old age and find it has grown into a really nice, and 4x bigger city than we first got here. and if not for the narcos , the mexican border towns would be really neat to go to all the time. they also have grown and developed enormously in 50 years.

@@michaelturano7522 i was downtown at the bus station day before yesterday and i saw a greyhound being loaded up with mostly women and children being hauled north. single men are getting turned around and sent home. but they are allowing in women with kids. more wards of the state. just so that state is elsewhere. they are hauling them north. all have big yellow envelopes with a sheet of paper taped on that say I DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH , and asks people to help them if need be. the democrats just had to undo everything that trump and mexican president amlo had worked out to get this under control. made him look bad . he sent biden two letters so far telling him to not interfere in mexico's internal affairs. so far he has been ignored. the border patrol is busy babysitting. the narcos are loving it. they get venezuelan and soros money that the central americans and others are getting to make the trip . nobody crosses that border unless they pay the terrorist gangs. sometimes they take the kids to the river, get them over and run off and leave them. and of course the regime won't enforce the laws on the books, and won't provide enough border patrol agents to deal with it all. i was riding a city bus once when the last wave of invaders arrived. they let some in. one local driver, mexican-american, had a big can of lysol and whenever one of them got on he let loose with a cloud of spray. kill all the cooties. we looked at each other and grinned. and there go the catholic brothers and the sisters in street clothes, guiding the illegals around like tourist groups in paris with their guides. local catholics are unhappy that funds they donate to help AMERICAN catholics is being diverted to taking in these people. the head of the local border patrol union was on the radio talking about how when he is in uniform and he talks to them they all claim they are persecuted and need refuge. when he is in civilian clothes and talks to them they admit. they are here for the stuff. mexico's president offered them stuff. offered them a place to live, assistance, work. they wouldn't have to go to a totally different culture in a country where they can't even carry on a conversation with just anyone. if they really feel threatened they could have refuge in mexico. they laughed at him. mocked mexican food. said things like its fit only for swine. he said in frustration he wanted them gone and he wasn't really particular which direction they went in. mexican stuff isn't as groovy as that american stuff. they want american stuff. one idiot salvadorean dragged his toddler son along with him as a prop. he told the border patrol he was here for his free house. some communist community organizer told him we give out free houses. no mention of utilities, just a house. they told him no. there are no free houses. go home. he tried swimming the river with the kid. figured if he got into the country he would be able to find the right official who would get him his house. he and the kid drowned. and back in el salvador he had a house. and a wife and other kids. stories like these we hear on the news all the time. but the national media will never tell the truth. there is some pathetic cringing fear that if you tell the truth about what goes on here it will offend the "hispanic" vote. cubans, dominicans, argentines , chileans don''t give a shit about central americans. and truth be told, mexicans don't like them either. but as long as the democrats have decided they can make slaves out of the central americans and they need to pander to get "hispanic" votes they will keep the borders wide open. and i and people from mexico agree that its suspicious about the democrats in congress. el chapo admitted he paid pres. pena-nieto $100 million to look the other way. they and i wonder just who in washington are also on the payroll of the narcos and what price do american democrats demand to look the other way.
