In some ways I agree and I don't I lost my wife to cancer after 18 yrs of marriage and I wonder if I would have better off not knowing that kind of love because everything else fails in comparison after.
Hell yes it does. Is it even considered that? McBride & The Ride more talented than ANY of the new so called "country talent". Its not even close. Yet these people today are getting paid millions... Shit is backwards.
I remember this very well when it came out. I was 14 years old. Those were the simple and easy days back then. Not a care in the world. Just school and school work.
I navigate freely between Heavy Metal, New Wave, Alternative and Country. Anywhere I could hear a man’s voice put to good lyrics and music. As a child from the colonies- mine Barbados- I was fortunately free to see the beauty in good music and singing, I could listen w/o prejudice. My sister and I went crazy for the Beatles 30 years after they ceases to exists. I can still remember my sister and I becoming bored with the overly sexualised Glam/Hair Metal and gingerly turning the dial to that wonderland of discovery that was the radio. “Come on down and met your maker come in down an take a Stand!!” By the Alarm rang out. We looked at each other and gave each other the “ we belong here,” look. From then on it was The Cure, The Smiths, Echo and the Bunnymen, OMD, Depeche Mode etc the lists goes on APB, Heaven 17, REM ……. I couldn’t let go of Priest- Judas Priest that is they never went glam. Metallica, MegaDeth, Slayer….my dad and oldest sis were big into country so I gave that respect she always boosted about RandyTravis saving the genre in the 80s. Hal Ketchum “5 o clock world “ from the Vogues Chris Ledeux’s “ Thougher than the rest,” Springteen’s anthem to his second wife and band member WOW!!!!! Good music calls you no one person should listen to anything that they are told to listen to. It’s our right to discover these little life lessons on our own. Anyhow I was early in college by the mid 90s and this song as well as REM INXS U2 Morrissey The Cure The Cult….I could go on, got me through acadaemia and life and I am eternally grateful.
I haven't heard this since the 90s. I knew of the song but never knew who sang it. I only found this because youtube suggested it to me, glad they did. Glad to hear it again, loved it back then and after all these years finally hearing it again... I still love it.
In 2015, McBride signed a publishing deal with MV2 Entertainment.[7]. Since then, he has been writing and recording songs of his own. His debut EP, "Hotels & Highways," was released on February 24,2017.
The Outlaws had a song called Hurry Sundown back around the 70s. I thought this might be a remake of that song, but its totally different. Just the same song title.
They are gonna be at 3rd and Lindsley downtown Nashville in February I cannot wait to see them since I did not get to see them in their hey day ....they don't make country music with this much heart anymore ...wish they did
