Mc Cartney has always been good at rising above critics . Others would have stormed out of that interview.

Peter Sissons was Paul McCartney's Head Boy at school! A Liobian is an old boy of the Liverpool Institute

Despite being obviously quite angry with the report before the interview, Paul brings out the big guns at the end: the Beatles never had any problem deflecting awkward press questions by making the interviewer laugh

Great, beautiful interview, especially the end when he said I shall see the movie and make up my own mind. Exactly right! Thank you!

While the movie was pretty boring, very unprofessional to set up an interview, promoting a movie, with such scathing reviews! Some stars would have walked off.

Ooh, imagine having to defend that movie live on TV

Yeah, Karen... I remember -- years ago -- when someone said that it "had too much music in it"... well, duh -- it was a *musical*. [rolls eyes]

@@stanleye.9038 It /does/ have too much music in it relative to its scant story. You can just put a bunch of studio scenes into movie with no meaning to them. And yeah, I have GMRTBS on DVD. I think it has its moments. But I can't defend it.

@@karenelizabeth1590 I agree, Karen... the somewhat scant storyline. It is a good movie... but you have to be in a certain mood to watch it; for instance, I like to watch certain movies, whenever it's the sky is dark (gray) & raining.

@@stanleye.9038 works much better as a dvd than a big screen movie (although certain scenes like "Ballroom Dancing" and the warehouse scene looked great on the big screen and the soundtrack through the theater speakers sounded pretty amazing )

I admire Sir Paul but it was a bad movie - first off the story, plot was terrible - and Paul himself is no actor, he is not at ease and is clearly acting and it is not convincing - Paul Simon was just as bad in his film ONE TRICK PONY - on the other hand Art Garfunkel in CARNAL KNOWLEDGE was excellent and held his own with the great Jack Nicholson.
