The best ways to curb violence is through economic opportunity, education, and parental presence. The economic opportunity helps people have a sense of purpose in their community. If people have opportunities to make predictable money they are less likely to turn to crime which adds to violence. Additionally if people have economic means they can invest in their community further curbing violence. The education piece also sets folks up for economic success. Not just academic classes but athletics and trade classes to keep kids off the streets. Finally parents need to be engaged in their kids lives. I am trying to grow a family so I’m on the outside of this but I was fortunate enough to have my parents and step parents active in my life. This kept me on track to not continue acting like a knucklehead.

I don't think there is any single action that can be taken to reduce violence in the US, but we could definitely use less glorification of violence as a solution to our problems. I have friends from many countries and I get to see things from their point of view, which is not as happy and shiny as we would like. As Americans we definitely have a problem with being quick to resort to violence in certain situations, and the media tends to hyper-fixate on tragic events, especially mass shootings, because that generates views and views generate revenue. We also have a lot of people who conflate the ownership of weapons and the ability to commit violence with masculinity, which is inaccurate to say the least. There is no easy solution to this problem, but I am hopeful that someday we will be able to grow strong enough to overcome this challenge

There's never been more mental health help available in history as now but there's a lack of father's. NOT STUPID BABY DADDY CRAP. I hate that word just another way of separating families bond. One prominent group that gets millions in "funding"after the sainted one took too much fentanyl for a horse, has leaders in mansions driving expensive cars. Not helping promote lives. Just imagine if dedicated loving people had that money to help bring families closer, get kids graduated, and college. But sadly no different than our government wasting money on abortions rather than promoting life.

There’s two things causing gun violence: 1. Mental illness 2. Gangs . You can attribute gangs with mental illness as there are reasons people join gangs in the first place.

Addressing community violence is a multifaceted challenge that requires a holistic, data-driven approach. No single strategy is sufficient on its own; rather, it’s the integration of several evidence-based methods that yields the most effective outcomes. Focused deterrence strategies, such as group violence intervention, are pivotal in mitigating violence by concentrating efforts on individuals most likely to engage in violent behavior. Concurrently, evidence-based policing enhances public safety by strategically allocating resources to identified crime hotspots. However, reducing violence also demands a commitment to addressing its underlying causes, which necessitates substantial investments in social services, mental health care, and education, particularly in vulnerable communities. The intersection of these approaches is where we find the most sustainable solutions for safer communities.

There's no real families but gangs fill in this gap because father's are just making babies but not there because they grew up without one. Our society and government reward this missing equation of father in the picture. Without father's to model after the mother cannot do this job despite all the rhetoric.

Why are the gun grabbers either want armed security or get guns for their own use? A Chicago chapter president of "Moms against gun violence" was arrested for shooting someone in anger. Hence the hypercritical usual RULES FOR THEE BUT NOT FOR ME. The elite rich, celebrities, and of course political people demand guns for themselves but protest I guess for US THE LOWER CLASS UNWASHED AND NOT SMART ENOUGH TO HANDLE FIREARMS. Which we the knuckle draggers practice, hunt, and target shoot together. But the gun grabbers keep making insane laws to follow or unconstitutional laws to make us felons thus criminal in the future in owning ANY WEAPONS TO PROTECT OUR FAMILY. The city of Detroit Michigan has at least a half hour response to 911 calls thus you're on your own for 29 minutes to talk killers into not murdering your family for a TV.

This is sadAF. My homie since we were in the womb son was murdered and since he was like a brother and his son like a nephew the pain hurt so much and still does. I couldn’t and I still wouldn’t blame him if he wanted revenge and in the same fashion. This man to me for following through with what he felt is justice is just that…a man…he will always be his sons anti hero.

Gun control. That's what you can do. The complete unwillingness by Americans to see guns as a major part of the problem is one reason why you have this problem. Americans kill each other at a much higher rate than any other developed country. And they overwhelmingly use guns to do it. Now, either this means Americans are inherently more psychotic and violent than the citizens of other countries. OR it means that easy access to guns is an aggravating factor in violent crime. And that maybe, just maybe, gun control would reduce said crime. All evidence points towards the latter. But it's difficult to convince Americans of that, in part because Americans are often brainwashed from birth to think that guns are synonymous with a free society and it's impossible to have one without the other. Despite all the other countries in the world whose citizens are NOT heavily armed, and who are doing the whole "free, democratic society" thing far better than America does.

worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/murder-rate-by-country With a frequency of 53.34 murders per 100,000 people, Jamaica has the highest murder rate. Jamaica strictly forbids importing or possessing firearms in Jamaica without prior authorization of the Firearms Licensing Authority of Jamaica In 2022 the top 10 counties with the highest murder rates )per 100,000 people)have strict gun laws All statistics that can be looked up. It’s not guns that create violence. Violence will exist no matter the tools used.

@@McDojoLife Jamaica isn't a developed country... ""In 2022 the top 10 counties with the highest murder rates )per 100,000 people)have strict gun laws" Not a single one of them is a developed country, and the regulations are extremely difficult to enforce. It's also worth noting that a lot of the guns and ammunition that end up on this countries comes from the USA; because USA gun laws are so insane, they have an impact on other countries. If you look at the same list you're probably getting your stats from, the first developed country on the list of top homicide rates is the Bahamas. So I retract my earlier statement that Americans kill more of each other than any other developed country. However, the USA's stop on the list is 57. Only slightly better than Zimbabwe, and worse than Yamen and Mongolia. For comparison, the next developed country after the USA on the list is Lichestein at 69 on the list, and a murder rate of 5.123 compared to the USA's 6.383. Friggin' Khazakstan has a lower murder rate than the USA does (at 2.634). My country is 142nd on the list, with a murder rate of 1.148. So yes, if your argument is: "The USA has a murder rate that is comparable to a developing country and is among the very worst performers among developed nations" then yes, we're in agreement. "Violence will exist no matter the tools used." I tend to agree. However, I don't think that's a good reason to make it really easy to access REALLY effective and efficient weapons for murdering people. If that's your position, then should you be okay with nuclear bombs being for sale at Walmart? After all, violence will happen to matter what the tools are, won't they? How about tanks at used car lots? I think you'd agree that would a bad idea. And I think you'd agree for much the same reasons that I think guns are a bad idea; because the scale of violence, and the easy with which violence can be carried out, is significantly higher with said weapons. I just wish Americans were better at following that train of thought to its logical conclusion.
@MarleneAngel09
@MarleneAngel09 Месяц назад
I for one, completely agree with you. This country desperately needs sensible gun control. But, we also desperately need better access to mental health services. It's way too easy for someone suicidal or in this case, grieving a murdered child, to get their hands on a gun. In the last 5 years, 2 of my friends who were suicidal blew themselves away. One was only 19. They had no real help with what they were going through, but both of them found a gun to die by no problem. Everything about that is wrong. Guns ARE part of the problem when there is next to no proper regulation. This is coming from someone who likes and appreciates firearms.

@@seraphinaaizen6278”developed” without being developed they still have violence with higher rates of murder than countries with less strict fire arms laws. Once again, the point stands and is a fact. Violence is the issue the tool that is being used clearly does not change the violence issue. So what are some ways to curve the violence?

Vengeance leads to more vengeance the issue is the heart of man, to be honest. Evil in mans heart and the only way is trusting in the The Almighty. Who is God and God is Love in purity. How can i say i love God and hate my brother. We are the human race, we need to change. Learn the way of God and how He sees us and treat other as men. With the same respect . The way that we treat each other men is how we treat God. For love is the way, we keep all the commandments..
